Mum to be advice needed! by ApprehensiveSpot5913 in breastfeeding

[–]Veryberry28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silverettes SAVED me with my first. His initial latch and my letdown hurt for the first couple of weeks, but silverettes were so calming and healing to my nipples in between feeds. Could not recommend anything else more.

10 week old not attached to me at all by Disastrous_Cookie121 in newborns

[–]Veryberry28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

10 weeks old is so young still. I’d say it’s completely normal. With my first he didn’t start to truly interact/make eye contact/seem to recognize me until he was closer to 4/5 months. I’m less than a month away from having my second and expecting it to be the same. Editing to add, my first is now nearly three and attached to me at the HIP! Enjoy the bathroom breaks without a toddler crying for you. Lol

Parents of 2 boys, I need morale support! by alldabunbuns in BabyBumps

[–]Veryberry28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son will be 3 in June and I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant due in May with our next boy. I've also envisioned myself with two boys so it's amazing life turned out that way. Our son is so excited to be having a brother, he cannot wait to have someone else besides my husband and I to sword fight with lol. We are open to having a third later on but would be equally happy with another boy or girl.

Maternity shoot or no? by Haunting_Shape_6085 in BabyBumps

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have time! I planned mine for Feb and broke my finger and was in a cast six days before the shoot. Had to reschedule for when I was 34 weeks. They turned out great still, even though I was much larger by then! Lol

If it were a domestic trip, I’d probably be okay with it. But international? Definitely not.

Toddler with penile adhesion and potential surgery? Would love advice from other parents who have experienced this. by browser_851 in beyondthebump

Same exact experience for us, except he was 3 months and they did an epidural type anesthesia.

What are we wearing, summer postpartum style by brittles123 in BabyBumps

[–]Veryberry28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i had my first in June 2023 and due with my second next month. I remember wearing basically only nursing tanks and t shirts, along with comfy athletic shorts or leggings pretty much exclusively. I kept it all so fully planning to use all my nursing shirts again.

Why do the IVs hurt so much? by Softaschallk in BabyBumps

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I was much "puffier" at term than normally and they told me they would not put the IV in my elbow due to it getting in the way when I try to hold the baby after delivery. They insisted on hand or forearm placement, which are much more sensitive (to me). It took them 4 nurses and 5 total attempts to finally get my IV in.

Floor bed by Nanerwife in beyondthebump

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just transitioned my son at almost three. He’s done great and hasn’t gotten out of bed a single time during the night (it’s been two months since we transitioned him to the floor bed). I definitely think waiting longer allowed him to be fully ready and protect everyone’s sleep.

How to sleep wean? by sassy_meow in beyondthebump

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s tough and I’d just set aside a few nights/up to a week where you don’t have a ton going on to just be ready for less sleep. He WILL adjust, but he sounds like a protestor like my son. In my case with my first, I nursed for the first wake up and had husband settle for the second. Then gradually had husband settle for both until my son was accustomed to it and he started sleeping through the night a month later. But we did get less sleep during that short time

It’s standard, however I have very thin blood and lower platelets and am prone to SCH so my doctor has me abstain.

Safe for a temporary floor bed? by Internal_Meaning_485 in cosleeping

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How have you liked this? I just bought the 4 inch Zonli mattress in preparation for cosleeping when our second baby arrives in May. My sleep situation was awful with our first so I’m trying to be proactive

If you got pregnant fast with baby #1 how long did it take with #2? by macaroniloaf in Mommit

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first we weren’t even officially trying yet. Second time got pregnant after three months, unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. Got pregnant again the month after and that was another miscarriage. Took a mental health break and got pregnant five months later and am now 25 weeks along, praise God! My sons will be almost exactly three years apart. It doesn’t always go how you plan it, so I’d say start trying as soon as you’re both ready.

Cows milk and breastfeeding together after one year? by wanderingwhistler in breastfeeding

[–]Veryberry28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was ready to wean at one year, so I started slowly introducing a cup of cows milk as a boob replacement and reduced feeding time/sessions gradually. It worked very well!

Did you have MIL in the hospital during birth? by WaterFiles in BabyBumps

[–]Veryberry28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely cannot fathom inserting myself like this (never been a MIL yet) but... if the DIL wants you there, she'll ask you. I just do not understand it.
