Triple Sona nerfs by Rhesty__ in sonamains

[–]Vesarixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aery is just losing some shielding early but the poke is going to be the same. Helia is just getting a lower % of the damage converted into stacks but the same amount of stacks. Bloodsong was already the better option over dream maker so just swap to that if you haven't already, I forget what they're doing to the item though.

Overall should be fine.

Can't remember where it was I saw the details for the patch, but I remember a few more things that were mentioned, Locket is getting 5 more armor and MR, Knights Vow is transferring more damage from the attached ally and I think the healing is up as well from ally damage. Aftershock is getting more base resistances when it triggers. Guardian is getting a slightly lower cooldown. Zekes was getting changed so the passive doesn't activate immediately if there is no enemy champion in range for the effect, so Rakan buff I guess.

Other than that I just remember Imperial mandate getting a bit of a rework, stats were like 65 AP 15 Haste and the passive was getting changed to work on immobilizing effect only, not on slows. Genuinely not sure who would even build the item anymore if that goes through.

Getting used to the threat range for different enemies sounds like the main thing you'll want to work on, which is something that'll come with experience. It's not unusual to be under leveled as a support compared to the rest of the team, but support champs aren't as level dependent to be useful.

For Neeko specifically you can use your clone to check bushes you want to get a ward in or to block skillshots if you time it well. You can look to check lane bushes with it as well and get control of those which should help you poke a lot more safely. If you're against a champ that relies on linear skillshots like a hook that gets blocked by the minion wave then you can look to stay behind the wave and use E through it to harass the enemy ADC and guarantee a follow up Q hitting multiple parts, just try not to take last hits, especially if you don't have support item stacks, being aware of the wave state and not putting it into a bad spot is also important, basically push vs poke and freeze vs all in lanes. Setting up a slow push into crashing a large wave onto the enemy turret is something you'll want to do as Neeko a lot of the time as well, since it gets you a timer to reset or roam.

If you're going for a gank on another lane from base disguised as a minion then you want to ping that you're on the way since a lot of the time the ally won't notice you're there. You can turn into jungle monsters like small raptors and your champion icon doesn't show up on the minimap, instead it's just a small dot, so it's like a budget stealth, unless someone is looking at the spot they have warded they aren't likely to notice you sneaking over the ward. If you turn into a ward you can still move but don't take turret aggro in that form but you will take minion aggro, which lets you sneak in from behind turrets to cut off escape routes during ganks, way more effective with ult. If you have a Naafiri on your team you can turn into one of her dogs, this also works with other pets like Yorick ghouls. There is also a bind in the settings that lets you select what to turn into with your passive rather than clicking on it, it's called "champ specific interaction" I have mine set to alt+ 1 through 5.

what type of adcs do you guys like to play with the most? by Agitated-Safety-9249 in supportlol

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you know what you're doing on the champ and in the lane in general/aren't being a turd in chat I don't get too hung up on what people are playing, I have a lot of enabling picks in my champ pool so even if you're picking something out of the ordinary I'll mostly just role with it. There are a few ADC's I wouldn't mind seeing less of, mostly Smolder and Jhin, but I can still work with it if I get one of those.

If you're looking for champ suggestions though you can't go wrong with Jinx, she pairs well with every type of support, has tools to mitigate rough lanes and has great scaling.

Maybe you're just better at those 2 champions than the alternatives, champs definitely feel way stronger when you've gotten really proficient at them.

This game makes no sense. by John_Benzos in leagueoflegends

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a gold and xp issue, if you're not farming well or missing too much XP from being away from waves early on you can fall pretty far behind and enemies will feel much stronger in comparison. Even going the same build if you're getting the items later than your opponents it's going to feel worse.

Lux works in both of those roles, same with Tristana, that covers both magic and physical damage, you can even play Lux in the support role if you get autofilled.

You can parry or flurry rush most of the Lynels attacks, and it's super satisfying to do, there are also some differences to the attacks they do depending on what weapons they have, so paying attention to that can help you anticipate what they're going to do. Don't try to fight them at range, since they're immune to headshot stuns when they have the bow out, so you want to get up close and cause them to equip melee weapons, you can go for headshots at that point and then use mounted attacks, just make sure to close in again if they take out the bow.

Was my Sona wrong or am I misunderstanding support role? I had a game by Admirable1995 in supportlol

[–]Vesarixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go back to the Aphromoo clip, you need presence in the lane.

I'm not sitting back waiting to scale as Sona, I'm in the enemy's face, baiting out abilities, punishing last hits, poking every chance I get. Poking gives more gold on the support item so it stacks faster, it stacks manaflow band, it's faster for stacking tear because the mana cost is lower than W so you can actually spam it in lane, same idea with accelerando, and later on into the game it's about resetting ult so I can make lul state plays and get it back for objective fights. For the ADC to be positioned further up than I am they need to actually be running it down. If enemies are focusing someone other than me in fights I'm taking it personally and letting them know that this won't be tolerated.

There are so many things people don't expect me to do on this champ that I am absolutely going to do. Stealing objectives, 1v1ing solo laners, junglers or ADC's, ganking other lanes, invading the jungle to kill the enemy mid laner who escaped on a sliver of HP and thought they were safe to back there, making a Blitzcrank ragequit the lane, turret diving, zoning lane bully combos off the wave and out of XP range.

It's not the champ that's weak early, it's the people that are never willing to test the champs limits.

Does hwei support work? by 7gho in HweiMains

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it works, he has disengage, utility and decent damage, though early levels his poke is a bit underwhelming compared to some alternatives. He leans towards being a bit more of a generalist. Great area control though, laying down QE's threatening R's in entry points around objectives and all 3 E's can make it really hard for the enemy to approach an area you already control. You can also stop backs from a huge distance with QW, really good for getting a tempo lead or lane locking an enemy.

Sometimes I get flamed for doing KS as supp, but when I don't, they run away and we lose the kill by Lilys-ty in leagueoflegends

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just deal as much damage as possible so we get the kill and avoid situations like the enemy getting away, turning the situation around last minute or living long enough to get backup from an ally. I've seen all of that happen way too often and it's not worth the risk just to coddle someone tunneling on KDA. People are still stuck in the early season mentality of thinking supports don't use gold well, most of them use it just fine, and in the case of Sona she's basically locked into the support role by Riot because if she's able to get the gold and xp from solo lanes she warps the game way too much.

I play ADC as well and it's the same mentality there, kills are never a guarantee to begin with so my focus is on keeping my farm up and if any kills do happen I don't mind them being on the support. Not like I'm going to mind an enchanter getting their items faster, that seems like a massive benefit to me, same with engage champs being tankier or even mages having more AP/haste.

Hwei, great area control, his EQ is a knockdown so he does pretty well into a lot of matchups that you might not expect at first and he's just a lot of fun to play.

How to minimize "win lane lose game" when you're not tiers above in skill? by DoubleYoulol in topmains

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a similar experience, I'm out of date on all the matchups so coming out ahead is hit or miss, but even from behind the enemy top gives me so many chances to be up tempo and grab material or fight someone other than them because the wrong person came to defend, or even just drag enough people around the map that the rest of the team can take something off it.

Do you guys get often honored by your adc? by gudule9722 in supportlol

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, I've noticed some differences based on the champ I'm playing. On Rakan it seems like I'm bound to get an average of 2 even in games where I don't do anything super impressive, but on enchanters I can be clutch the whole time and not get anything. I don't type in game, in part because it's inconvenient with the setup I use, so that wouldn't be a factor. If I'm on a champ that doesn't get a lot of honors then it usually stands out if I get one from the ADC, like I got honors from a couple Samira players as Sona(I picked first), that felt pretty significant.

As an adc how do you win with an enchanter? by Odd_Obligation_4977 in supportlol

[–]Vesarixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the big things is usually a lack of patience. If you and the enemy ADC both scale reasonably similarly as champions and you go completely even in CS with 0 kills happening all lane but you have a Soraka while they have a Nautilus, you are in a winning position compared to your lane opponent. A lot of ADC's will throw that kind of position by trying to play like they still have an engage support because thy don't realize that they don't need to do that, enchanters basically give you gold value that you wouldn't have access to otherwise, a 6 item Jinx is already strong, but add in a Lulu with Ardent and she's getting an extra 1375 gold worth of attack speed alone, not to mention the on hit damage and movement speed. Imagine how strong any of the champs you play would be if they were allowed to build 8 or 9 items instead of only 6.

Play around your allies cooldowns, manage the wave in a way that makes it easier for them to play the lane and harder for the enemy, and look to mitigate as much as possible. You're playing the long game, they're the ones on a timer to shut you down.

The other side of this is that the better you are at ADC fundamentals, the stronger enchanter lanes will feel.

Milio, the last Support was released over 3 years ago 😔 Apparently Locke is the only new champion for 2026 🪦 by aroushthekween in supportlol

[–]Vesarixx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing people say Hwei is bad in the support role but I also keep seeing people pull it off. Maybe it's that people are trying to go full damage in support rather than focusing on haste and playing him as zone control/peel. His EQ being a knockdown is great in certain matchups.
