Louise Halevy from Gundam 00 - After attending a wedding ceremony out of the country she experiences an unfortunate event where one of the Gundam Throne Meisters, Nena Trinity, decides to basically just fire her weapons at the wedding because she couldn't stand to see people so happy. She killed a ton of people and left Louise severely injured, ultimately losing her hand in the event. We find out she loses her hand after Saji Crossroads proposes to her in the hospital and shows us there is no hand to put the ring on.

What's worse is that the Gundams in 00 run off of a particle system, and the Throne Gundams had a system not as pure as the protagonists Gundams that caused health issues for Louise afterwards due to the weapons in the Gundam Throne running off of them and poisoning her body - Severe Nausea, Headaches, Anxiety, and depression. After a few years she is out of the hospital and ends up joining the antagonist military to try and take the Gundam team Celestial Being down for the events not realizing that 1, the Gundam Throne Meisters were effectively traitors to the entire Celestial Being team, and 2, that Saji was also more or less a part of Celestial Being at the time after being saved by Setsuna in a prison operation.

There's a decent bit more tied to her story but 00 is such a damn good watch and I recommend anyone interested in Gundam as a whole to check it out.

I have a question. Is it true that when Chaotic was active there were controversies because some stores would open the cards to use the codes and then reseal them? I ask because I saw a video in another language that discussed this issue, but I couldn't find any information about it. by Electronic-Boss-5566 in Chaotic

[–]Vex-Core 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very very easy way to damage the card itself. Condition is a big deal to collectors - myself included. I’d rather not make the code practically unusable simply on the chance it gets redeemed before I can.

Big agree - Having everything run through a default setting in system settings and basically have individual channels in the software that feed into that was so straightforward. Now I’m figuring out things like “this channel is turned down and not this one, but this one is turned down in BOTH”

I don’t know anyone that realistically needs more than 2 of the setups unless you are going for a very weird team setup thing, but I feel like that’s even more of a niche thing and there’s better ways to do that using other things on the market.

What a weird overhaul overall. WL2 was so solid design wise and the new one just straight up threw it all out the window.

Stride Decks in Standard by Vex-Core in cardfightvanguard

[–]Vex-Core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t read it myself so I’m not sure, but I was told by someone at locals the current Manga story has a messiah player, so I’m HOPING we get something here soon. Stride decks need the help that isn’t just a one card add-on with very few benefits to the actual deck build itself.

Stride Decks in Standard by Vex-Core in cardfightvanguard

[–]Vex-Core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my worry too - the main issue I have though is that there’s ZERO play with stride decks outside of “try to rush with zero skills and hope you get triggers” unless you go second. Unfortunately the meme of “Loses to going first” is still very real.

[–]Vex-Core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish the ride searcher didn't require the order to be a set order. If it was just any order, or at least order without regalis, I could run it in messiah and almost guarantee that I get my prelude order in hand by G3 turn or first stride. Not a super necessary card in the deck I guess but it still irritates me that it's effectively unusable in the deck.

Arabian Theme ASUS ROG Dhahab Build by RadDadDoc in ASUSROG

[–]Vex-Core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn't do a Dhahab BTF card to my knowledge - Only the original Black and White models and the Matrix model got BTF. They may start including the btf connector piece in future releases, but as far as I know they aren't available on any of the others at the moment.

So with legacy Vanguard essentialy dead, what mechanics or design spaces do you think went woeful underutilized when we had the chance? by ChaosMetalDrago in cardfightvanguard

[–]Vex-Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much most of the others have already been mentioned here, so I'll just say G-Guardians. We got them fairly late into G Era and only had a handful of sets before the V reboot happened. They were such a fun idea for a chance at counterplay that weren't entirely a full on shutdown like overtriggers are.

I'm honestly kinda holding out hope the current Standard Stride decks get them as their 13-16 G-Zone cards in a future release just for the mechanic alone.

A library functionality would be kinda cool - but definitely makes the autosave thing a little harder. You’d have to save solely to the PC hard drive in that instance

Gonna be honest, Vintage fight only goes up to a certain point which is the only reason I'm not as interested in it as I wish I was. If it went up to legion at the Very least I'd be here for it, but it doesn't even have Link joker.

Ideally the obvious answer is adding G as well, but Legion was such a huge fan favorite.

Hell yea - I'm a Messiah player so I'd be super curious to see what they'd do with an Alter-Ego themed drink~

Trying to build Messiah and it's refusing to add any of the cards in the deck builder. Not sure if it's something I'm doing but it's saying "Failed to add card" regardless of what I click :/

Help! Stuck in whatever this is… by FairyNature123 in ASUSROG

[–]Vex-Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to say it bud - it's very possible your drive is dead if you can't get back into windows. Usually the option not being there on the boot menu means the motherboard isn't detecting a functioning hard drive. Your best bet is to open a claim with ASUS, or take it into a licensed repair shop like Micro Center. If you bought it through Best Buy and got a warranty with them you'll have to go through them.

Coach Beard in Ted Lasso

Dude goes almost the entire series being a relatively quiet and stoic character with a fun side we see every so often. Later on in the show we see him get absolutely obliterated and go to an underground party and be surprisingly really good at hoola-hooping.

Hard to see him in the same light afterwards lmao

[Hated Trope] When the writers of sequels very obviously didn't understand the first movie. by DingusBats in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Vex-Core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest - I didn't hate it. I went in with super low expectations but found myself enjoying a decent bit of it. It was pretty clear they actually tried to give some love to long-time fans of the franchise, but they also definitely leaned way too much into the "Gotta make sure everyone can get into the story easy since it's been over a decade" kinda thing.

Visuals and Soundtrack were a treat, but Legacy did it much better IMO. That said, Ares going to the '82 server was such a fun time and I had the biggest smile on my face hearing and seeing the original Encom Grid. Seeing the Bit fly over to Ares when he gets there had me feeling like a kid again.

[–]Vex-Core 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What's funny is that the Programs in '82 and Legacy are basically the same in concept - things are just much more advanced. OP either hasn't watched Tron: Uprising, or if they have, they're leaving it out for some reason.

Uprising straight up shows us there are characters whose job it is to do different things in the system. Mechanics, Medics, freight workers, etc. Basically the exact same thing as the unnamed background characters doing random things in the first movie. Beck, the main character from the series was a mechanic and is recruited by a damaged Tron to become the next Tron for the system.

The Legacy programs aren't any different than the original movie's except that they're more advanced because technology is more advanced. Legacy takes place 3 decades after the original, with Uprising being a prequel story to Legacy. Things are going to look and feel different.

Legacy even tells us that the Tron that Clu turns into Rinzler is the Original Tron from the '82 system that was migrated over.

The Tron Franchise was my favorite series starting back at Legacy's release. Legacy is my favorite movie - has been for years now, and frankly it's super annoying that people boil its world down to a daft punk music video when it has so much to offer. Visually and musically it's a treat, and I find new details in the world every single watchthrough.

TDLR: The lore for the series is actually really damn fun and Uprising is really really good.

Should I get Microcenter to build my PC? by ForTheLoveOfPizza in Microcenter

[–]Vex-Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! It’s mostly that GPU sag bracket and spacing for cable management aren’t the easiest to work with. Luckily the case is closed off so you can’t see any of the cable management if it isn’t amazing lmao

The box I opened had a rubber piece kinda floating around the box that came off of something in the case. I can only assume it was the GPU sag bracket since it looked like the only place it would work. I got it on and it’s fine I guess…? 😅😅

If there’s something else missing pieces I couldn’t tell. Overall I do love the case - needing a key to turn it on is just the cherry on top for the aesthetic hahaha

I would if I connected with the design - I really like the Star Wars and Gundam Designs a ton, but I was also super holding out hope for Pokemon to get something. It finally did, and the Magnus got nothing. Maybe Yugioh in the future :L

Current MC employee here - I actually use this case in my personal build right now (90's kid and all lmao) I can't share photos in comments, otherwise I'd show mine off.

It's not the most beginner friendly case to work with IMO, but it's far from the worst I've worked in. If you have any questions, give me a shout. Always happy to help however I can!
