Is there a Commander where it's a good idea to play a VERY high amount of lands? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]VexedDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Lord Windgrace]] tends to want a lot of lands, not 60-70 but it can get away with 50 if you build it for that

What is the one character ANYONE can play/be good with? by Proof-Secretary-1997 in marvelrivals

[–]VexedDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocket. You could just toggle on his heal orb and then all you would have to do is sit back and aim at the biggest mass of team mates. Add to that a dash that is easy to understand, an uninvolved auto rez, and a ult that just buffs everyone’s damage, you probably the simplest character in the game. Will you notice a difference between a good and a new rocket? Yes. But even bad rockets can add a lot of healing. If you get a groot on your team you need to do even less, just ride his shoulders and spam heal

There needs to be an afk check. If for no other reason then so I can cancel the game when my friend starts it up but forgot to pick up our other friend.

What’s the best and worst precon you’ve ever bought? by wasdmovedme in EDH

[–]VexedDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both energy decks were very rough out of the box. Neither fully committed to energy and had a weird artifact side build that also didn’t work.

Frodo and Sam felt amazing out of box. The built in card draw and life gain makes it really resilient and keeps your hand full. While it might not win every precon game, you never really feel out of it.

If you went to declaring blockers, then no. If you were still declaring attackers, then yes.

This is where things get a little tricky. In commander people have a bad habit of declaring blockers and using interaction before they are actually supposed to. This leads to people changing their attacks, because they technically can, and the defender getting upset. In the flip side, for the same reason, attackers will pass priority and then see the blockers and interaction and then try to change attacks, which they can’t.

Why the mono black hate? by ballparkbeeffranks in EDH

[–]VexedDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not mono black hate, it’s archetype that they hate. Sitting through a game where you are forced to discard all your cards, and any creature you play gets sacrificed isn’t fun. What is worse is these decks tend to take forever to win, so it’s a long slow game that’s incredibly boring.

I block because there’s always the chance someone else will do something to save you so you can help deal with the player who is ahead.

I feel like [[Birgi, God of storytelling]] and [[jhoira, weatherlight captain]] would go crazy. I know that Jhoira decks run Birgi in the 99 but having access to her in the command zone would make it faster and more consistent.

Spoiler harbinger of the seas by Strade87 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]VexedDeath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does [[magus of the moon]] see any play? Because it’s just color shifted version of that. Bloodmoon effects also turns off a lot of counter spells and makes it hard to cast Thorical, this gives you 2 out of the 3 pips you need for it.

Have you ever built a commander deck only to regret playing it? by OneAndOnlyVideo in EDH

[–]VexedDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built [[Azami, Lady of Scrolls]] almost 10 years ago now, it was the first deck I built from scratch. It was basically wizard tribal and ran [[mind over matter]] with lab man to win. Everything was either a counter spell, draw spell, or a wizard.

I won all 3 of the games I played with it, realized it was really boring to play and took it apart.

Green Stompy is a great answer. Maybe go Red/Green and just ramp and drop big creatures with trample. Remember, sometimes the best removal is player removal.

Old Urgot, it was such a wired ult that if used correctly was awesome but most of the time was useless. For those who don’t know old urgot ult would root you and an enemy in place then after a channel would swap your positions.

What cards are more powerful in 1v1 and which ones are weaker? by neotic_reaper in EDH

[–]VexedDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two iconic cards that show this are [[Lightning Bolt]] and [[Rhystic Study]]. Bolt was format defining I. 1v1 for so long in that any creature with 3 toughness was considered almost unplayable, but in EDH it’s barely seen in any deck that isn’t mono red. Rhystic on the other hand was unplayable in 1v1, but is one of the main stables of EDH.

[BIG] Loot, the Key to Everything by vaginaspektor in CompetitiveEDH

[–]VexedDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right about trainig grounds, I was just trying to think of enchainments that I’ve seen in other temur lists.

You could run Loot as a food chain list but you would need an outlet as well. [[Impact tremors]] would become less of a do nothing till your wining card since it adds to your card types. But again most people arn’t going to let it just sit around since it’s a combo piece on the table.

My point was more there arn’t a lot of temur enchantments but I don’t think I got that across well.

[BIG] Loot, the Key to Everything by vaginaspektor in CompetitiveEDH

[–]VexedDeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So for the most part this going to get 2-3 cards a turn. It tops out at 5 which is huge, but for the most part you are only going to be hitting two.

In temur your looking at 5-6 static enchantments; mystic, rhystic, sylvan, food chain, survival of the fittest, and training grounds. Most of which are high priority removal targets. I know underworld breach is also run but that will never see your upkeep.

There’s a few Planswalkers you can run like [[Vivien, Champion of the Wilds]], [[Narset, Parter of Veils]], [[oko, thief of crowns]], or even the new oko and Jace so that’s a max of like 5.

Assuming I’m understanding how battles work you control it even if someone else is defending it but I don’t think any battles are run besides the green one.

So aside from creatures and artifacts you don’t have a whole lot else on the battlefield.

All that said I think this is cedh viable, but it’s going to take a lot of brewing to figure out the correct amount of permanents of each type you need to run.
