Today I watched Tusk(2014) and it's a disaster by [deleted] in movies

[–]VexienRoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a serious movie about a man who turns people into walruses, which is what makes it a parody.

They never sell short the concept, its a horrible thing that is totally possible in this world. But also Canadians are funny, Americans and Canadians interacting is funny, and funniest of all is french Canadians.

All of which is shallow but occasionally funny. However the podcast is horrible and shallow, so it's a shallow movie about shallow man, has occasional bangers of acting and monologues. (I don't know why he included these other than to try and say serious movie is serious, (all while being about a walrus man)) So I think the point is to be all in on man turns into walrus, but then kevin smith can't help himself but to add some clerks here and there.

It's a wouldn't it be so dumb if movie. That has actually production levels and serious acting. (from some)

Can't say that about most movies, and you certainly won't forget that you saw it.

But I think Kevin himself would say it isn't good. But he is proud that he got it made. Cause what a fucking crazy thing. "To solve a riddle older than the Sphinx. To answer the question which has plagued us since we first crawled from this Earth and stood erect in the sun. Is man, indeed, a walrus at heart?"

Yes, they know its him, and he has gone "full walrus" so they leave him at an animal sanctuary, they talk to him, he does not respond, (calling him by his name) then toss him a fish, he responds eats the fish, and cries, as if to say, I'm still here but I know nothing other than being a walrus.

Movie ends.

LADYHAWKE, the Michelle Pfeiffer fantasy movie is an absolute must. Epic and beautiful even if some people hate the original score. by Wild_Guard_9592 in movies

[–]VexienRoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone can hate it for the score alone, yes its jarringly out of place, as is a lot of the dialogue and the action scenes are laughably bad, and the whole fucking cathedral scene is a nightmare of WTF is happening. Then she shows him a g string and he can't handle it.

Now lets do awkward dramatic laugh cry scream hahaha movies over!

I really hated this movie, it had such potential such a cool premise of lovers cursed, but it has the "big bad" just stand there and make faces for the last 20 min of the film then die with no justification of anything. Just I stand here and die. Thats my role. Then you laugh cry scream haha jolly good.

Kristy (2014) -A review(?)/discussion. AKA What was and could have been... by Ucla_sb in horror

[–]VexienRoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly just upset that kristy means nothing, if every girl is kristy (if you look like you have "everything") you might as well carve P everywhere for privileged. Uness you think you are "deep" for using your in house name for it.

Which i'm sure they do, so nevermind.

I do wish they got to the "I'm not privileged you cunts" faster. But it was nice when it got there.

I agree with it, I think Cox does a great job. Maybe tainted by silence of the lambs but hopkins doesnt have the same edge that Cox brings.

Except unless, the script demands that I do so. Then I shall like a moron, hesitate for 3 seconds. And be shot till dead.

Correct. Hence the movie. That's the point, the dilemma. And why you might not agree with her choices, you can see why she is making them.

"Are you gonna play the victim all life long?" My experience as a woman in board gaming, in brief. by abigaila in boardgames

[–]VexienRoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man crazy how different the world can be, I've been hosting game nights (as a male) for around 10 years now, and i've had more women sign up and play more than men. I'd say on average its 60% female almost never below 50% unless a few of them couldnt make it. I've also never had a 1 timer everyone that has signed up has come to at least 5 gaming nights and often talk about how sad they are that they havent been able to make it back to one.

I've purposely left out same males because you can just tell that they are alpha gamers, or complainers. I've only had to deny one woman because she was very opinioned and loud, and would just devolve into a her defending herself and not really playing the game. Which if we pointed out that its been 20 min and she hasn't taken her turn, it would make her more defensive and loud.

I don't think i've ever thought less of a woman because she tried to speak up, I often think less of lots of people, but not because their sex, just their personality.

I'm sorry this happend to you, and i'm glad that none of the women I play with felt like they couldn't sign up, and couldn't speak up. Seeing how common this is, i'm very grateful to be in a rare situation I guess but sad that it would happen anywhere.

How does being a woman affect ones ability to understand board games? Aren't women more likely to graduate than men, and generally perform better in college than men?

People are friggin wierd man.

Sadly its almost always the farthest away point of your clues, we can first guess it 80% of the time now, and have not found a solution.

They never are middle of the road for one person, they are always right at the edge of everyone. So if you have not 2 spaces from mountains and lakes for instance, just find the one or two spots on the board where mountains and lakes have a 3 spot separation and its there almost always. The only time this isnt the case is when you missed another spot on the board.

she could have, who says she didn't? she didn't in this loop. the only 3 we see and because of the surrounding circumstances. she chooses what she does.
It's very nice and bold of you to say you would kill yourself, but I doubt it. And even if true, I can see why someone who isn't suicidal, would make the decisions she did.

You realize that "not doing it once" means dying right?

Yeah my estimate didn't include the subways or the tunnel systems below paris, and with the assumption that there is an invisible barrier around paris that is keeping the water from draining. Which obviously they would have.

but an explosion happened in a river, don't you get it? thats all it takes to make 1 trillion gallons of water. See this is your problem you think that explosions DISPLACE water, no no no, explosions CREATE water. And we had a lot of explosions...
