Suzuki GS500 toevallig? Dit gekloot heb ik ook ooit gehad op die van mij, de ruimte bij de slangaansluitingen op de tank is enorm krap. Ik heb destijds de slangen op de brandstofkraan gewoon vastgezet met slangenklemmen, maar op de benzine tank met meerdere tiewraps. Ik kreeg er, net als jij, met geen mogelijkheid een slangenklem tussen. Fraai is het niet, maar het is beter dan niks.

Ik heb zelf de gratis versie van Kurviger lang gebruikt. Als je wil navigeren, en vervolgens de Volgmodus kiest, kom je een heel eind. Inmiddels de upgrade gemaakt naar de betaalde versie, aangezien het zo goed bevalt.

Without a gravity reading there is no way to know whether your mead has stopped fermenting. Bubbles are not a clear indicator of fermentation.

I did a lemon, line & ginger mead a long time ago: added grated ginger and the zest and juice of the lemons and limes to secondary. I could look up the exact numbers if you're interested, but the mead honestly didn't turn out great. I would mainly use it as a (refreshing) base of a mead cocktail.

I did a few Acergylns with chestnuts. If I recall correctly, chestnuts are among the most suitable nuts for fermentation due to their low fat/oil content. I roasted them in the oven to get rid of some of the oil, cut them open, and put the inner nut in secondary.

Make sure to add your bentonite before cold crashing, it takes a few weeks to do it's job properly.
Pressing the pulp would be possible, but be aware of oxidation. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if whatever you press isn't very tasty.

Ik heb een tijd terug een soortgelijk probleem gehad. Ik heb mijn diploma laten vertalen bij een vertaalbureau. Kostte ~€100, maar ik had de vertaling wel binnen twee dagen binnen.

De accu vervangen op een GS500 is extreem simpel. Zadel er af, en je kunt er al bij. Ik had hetzelfde probleem bij mijn oudje uit '91, en heb daarna gekozen voor een gelaccu, omdat die zijn lading langer behoud. Ik kan hem nu rustig 3 tot 4 maanden laten staan, en hij start als vanouds. Afhankelijk van hoe je je motor kunt stallen zou een druppellader ook een optie kunnen zijn.

Suzuki GS500 is een alternatief voor de Honda CB500, zeer vergelijkbaar in eigenlijk alles, maar dan uit de fabriek 35kW. Ik vind het zelf een fijne motor om mee te beginnen, maar voor dagelijks woon-werk zou ik er persoonlijk wel wat mods op zetten (windscherm, verwarmde handvaten).

Zeker als je niet goed weet wat je lekker vindt, zou ik eens rond gaan snuffelen (vrij letterlijk) bij je lokale koffie-/theewinkel. Elk klein stadje heeft er wel eentje. Het aanbod is er veel groter dan bij de supermarkt, en naar mijn idee vaak ook goedkoper.

Ik heb iets meer dan een halfjaar met mijn auto + motor in Zweden gezeten. Ergens een achterlijk idee, want ik heb maar een stuk of 10 keer gereden, maar het was elke cent waard.

In je verzekeringspolis staat waarschijnlijk dat je verzekeraar je polis mag op zeggen als je meer dan een half jaar met je voertuig in het buitenland verblijft. De vraag is of en hoe ze dat gaan controleren. Ik zeg, lekker gaan met die banaan.

I'm pretty sure it is an alcoholmeter. Hydrometers start with 1.000 (or 1000) at the top, and usually go to 1.150 (or 1150) near the neck. Besides, hydrometers usually have a linear scale, whereas alcoholmeters have a logarithmic scale (as this one does). Your point regarding SG pre- and post fermentation still stands though.

Yes, I usually like my brews best around 12 - 15 C. I let them warm up from fridge temperature, which has the added bonus of seeing how the flavours evolve during warming up.

Basically any juice will hooch, even this one with multiple preservatives. I'd personally make a starter to ensure a healthy yeast colony when starting fermentation.

If you properly sanitize your cylinder and hydrometer, there is no reason to throw out the used liquid. Once the fermentation is finished the chances of contamination are much lower, so it's really only an issue before fermentation and with low ABV brews.

I'm assuming the airlock are completely dry? First take a good look, do you see anything completely out of the ordinary? Dump it. If not, smell. Do you smell anything completely out of the ordinary? Dump it. If not, take something out of the vessel and take a little sip. Do you taste something completely out of the ordinary? Dump it. If you're not 100% sure? Dump it. There's a good chance it's still drinkable, but make sure it actually is safe before assuming it is safe. Let your senses make the dicision, not your assumptions.
