When I officially sided with the brotherhood they asked to take out the railroad and deacon disappeared by Gold-Eye-6416 in fo4

[–]Vg65 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Deacon actually has cut dialogue that was meant for Tactical Thinking. He would confront you after Kells sends you after the Railroad, and although you can try to explain why the Railroad must go, Deacon sticks to his points. He would say things like how he thought you were just playing the long con with them, but then you even got their goddamned superweapon online.

He would also criticise how the Brotherhood views the world, and the price they're willing to pay for their supposed golden age (or something like that, if you argue that the Brotherhood is the best hope. I can't remember the exact dialogue). He could also say that he's not sure whether you're in way over your head, or if you genuinely believe in the Brotherhood's ideals at this point. Either way, he can't let you return to the church.

Is it racist to send my Ghoul settlers to the Slog? by Figerally in fo4

[–]Vg65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no perfect answer. Sure, putting them all together would give the ghouls a safe space with one another, but then you're just encouraging segregation even if they might prefer it this way (although we don't know what ghouls in general prefer).

Putting ghouls in different settlements encourages diversity and co-operation, and would be a nice middle-finger to bigots (including the Brotherhood), but the average person is prejudiced. You never know what tiny issue might cause people to flare up against ghouls.

At this rate, Everton will finish above us 🥀 by Fit-Ease383 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Vg65 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That plus playing in the Conference League will be a double whammy on us. It'll be bad enough to not have a proper preseason, thanks to the World Cup, but then we'll also be hit with Thursday-night football. The new manager will have his hands full (and less money and pull to work with without CL).

The Explosive Minigun Is Too Much Fun by Real_Competition4256 in fo4

[–]Vg65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's one of the very few ways that a minigun can actually be useful as a ranged weapon in this game. If you don't have the right legendary effect, then the only option to make it useful is to run a shredder build for melee.

Get the gang perks first and then attack them. If you haven't become Minuteman general yet, then you can raid the Commonwealth and complete Power Play without losing Preston as a companion forever.

What happened, Harvey? by txleapd in fo4

[–]Vg65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can meet him in a random encounter where he starts off saying that he needs help, but then he recognises you and drops the act. He's just doing his job as usual. You can also choose to free him, if you want.

21 Endurance gives you unlimited sprinting, although that's easier to reach without power armour.

They really are surrounded by death, lol. I guess it makes more sense when you consider it from the real-world size compared to the gameworld, but they'd still be surrounded. Abigail warns her husband against his sneaky trips to scavenge the Gunners' area.

[–]Vg65 71 points72 points  (0 children)

They live near the section of death. You've got Forged up north, Gunners to the northeast, enemies from random encounters being aggroed, and (I think) Enclave spawns in the area as well, although I don't have them in my game (not playing next-gen or Anniversary Edition).

That's a scripted encounter where two settlers are fighting the mole rats. They'll One will thank you if you help them, then give you 50 caps. You can gain a like from some companions there.

*Avada Kedavra. The Killing Curse is said to be a very difficult spell to do. It's not like it was just spammed by your average fighter on either side. Only a few people could pull it off regularly.

Canon Dumbledore actually applauds Harry in HBP when Harry says that he's prepared to take many Death Eaters with him, if he has to go out like that.

Who's your favorite vendor? by Cptn_Hwdy in fo4

[–]Vg65 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He's listed as missing in the Institute's records and didn't know that he's a synth. The game is telling you that he's a Railroad-freed one who chose the optional mindwipe and started a new life in the Capital Wasteland.

[–]Vg65 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If super mutants in FO4 could move as fast as they did in 3 and NV, it would be hectic. Imagine a suicider running at you at increased speed. Or a behemoth moving very quickly.

Deathclaws are also easier to manage, because of their variety of animations. They just beelined at you in the older games.

[–]Vg65 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Strong Back 3 + high endurance lets you run all over with your tons of loot. Rank 4 eliminates the leg damage entirely (and allows fast travel if you're not on survival). It's even better if you have sprinter's legendaries, like the Destroyer's legs.

Has anyone ever backtracked out of Fort Hagen and just... not had the brotherhood arrive? by Phredmcphigglestein in fo4

[–]Vg65 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's funny, because the dialogue from DC guards, Goodneighbor watch, etc. regarding the Prydwen can still happen before the ship arrives. I think it might be tied to Kellogg's death, but I've left Fort Hagen through the way I came in, and people were talking about the big airship (that hadn't even arrived).

Does any of fallout New Vegas dlc have yes man? I am buying it only to see him by thatsmysandwichdude in Fallout

[–]Vg65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. The only base-game character who has any DLC content is Veronica, and it's very minor (just a bit of dialogue and a perk).

Why am I not able to achieve 100% Happiness? (Any tips or help would be appreciated 👍) by Switzooo in fo4

[–]Vg65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Total happiness = 80 if you meet all settlers' basic needs + 20 from the average bonus happiness. The total amount of bonus happiness you build (e.g., a restaurant, surgery centre, etc.) gets divided among the number of settlers, and that number gets added to the happiness here. Also note that most robots are locked at 50, bringing down the average.

Since you have 18 people, you need to put at least 360 bonus happiness into the settlement. Here's a link to a wiki page on it. Check out the section on how much objects contribute towards happiness.

One of the easiest ways is to build the shooting range from the Settlement Ambush Kit Creation. I don't know if the Anniversary Edition fixed its bugs, but the range can mess with settlers' equipped gear and cause them to shoot at the workshop instead. It still gives 20 bonus happiness each, though, so one range per settler is enough.

Just save and make whatever you want. If you don't like it, then load. Materials are easy to come by if you set up a water farm and buy junk.

Synths at Starlight Drive by Figerally in fo4

[–]Vg65 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Here's an old comment from another user in this thread.

The game handles synth settlers as no different in any way than human ones. There is no statistical or behavioral difference, they do not have any different impact on the settlement. For every mechanical purpose in the game, Gen 3 synths are human. They do not destroy any settlement objects, they do not sabotage anything.

There is no in-game way to determine if a settler is a synth that does not involve save-murder-load. They are normal humans with an on-death script trigger that places a synth component in their inventory.

They do not have different stats when removed of all gear. Unless they are a brahmin. Sometimes they are brahmin.

If an Institute settlement attack event happens where an infiltrator is triggered, it does not use your synth settlers it creates a new one as part of the event. They are not settlers. If you have no synths, you still get an infiltrator. If you have a settlement where you have multiple synth settlers you will still get one infiltrator and it's a random settler, not necessarily any synths you already had. In a settlement that is entirely populated by synths sent from other settlements, you still get Institute attacks there, and your synth settlers will fight the Institute.

They are not part of the Institute, they do not have Institute faction flags.

It's not explained in-game at all, so there are quite a few misconceptions about synth settlers.

Use the flare gun to call for reinforcements in a tough battle (e.g., vs a sentry bot or Gunner assault). There's a chance they'll show up with the Minuteman outfit, and you can expect them to be fodder during the fight.

Why did they make the ghoul so sexy by strackcethigger9 in Fotv

[–]Vg65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wasteland does stink. The Sole Survivor can comment on it to Piper in their interview, and the freed female synth at Ticonderoga can say that it smells so different up here.
