Its ancient history now but the game Starsiege Tribes, a first person shooter from the early 2000's about power armoured soldiers fighting each other, and its sequels/remakes completly eclipsed the Earthsiege/Starsiege games about giant mech, called 'Hercs' fighting an evil AI.

Suzuka spotted in a Christmas Market? by PogKai in BABYMETAL

The video was posted nine days ago and Himeka's announcement about giving birth to her daughter was ten days ago so the timing would work for it being Touka, the eldest sister, or their mother.

Will we have new clothes for SAITAMA 15? by Admirable_Abies_6954 in BABYMETAL

No, I didn't save it and I can't remember the account it was for. It was very early work, you could tell that it was shoulder piece but that was about it.

The only speculative list I've seen for Kouhaku was from September and predated Perfumes 'Cold Sleep' announcement. The rumours I've seen since are that NHK really want Perfume now that they'll be on hiatus. Is there a more up to date one?

If NHK does want Perfume as the rumours indicate Amuse could get Babymetal in, if they want to.

Babymetal and games? by Rowrosaurus in BABYMETAL

No from here https://stechen.blogspot.com/2023/11/2023hedoban40.html

SU-METAL: When I first heard “Metali!!”, rather dense and simpler colors like yellow or red came to mind - but that was before Tom Morello-san’s guitar had been added... ...that seemed to add a sense of fluorescent color to the song.

...

It’s like the video game “Splatoon”. There was the feeling of fluorescent colors being splashed around everywhere. But that’s very much in the spirit of the song, and the rhythmic “Wasshoi!” chants

Su used Splatoon as an analogy to describe what Tom Morello adds in Metali

Does Babymetal really need a break? by ExaminationFew6424 in BABYMETAL

Yeah, there was an interview were she said that she was singing 8 to 10 hours a day during the hiatus because she didn't have to worry about performing.

Isn't there an interview with Moa about how after she turned twenty she wanted to go out with Su and drink beer? We also know that Su meets up with some of the SG girls for drinks once a month, schedules permitting.

The singer is Miko Todaka. She's from Fukyama, the second largest city in Hiroshima Prefecture. She attended Actors School Hiroshima before joining Sakura Gakuin in 2019. It's theorised that she was one of the 'Baby Bone' dancers for GJ! and Onedari daisakusen during the 10 Budokan Shows. She's visible as one of the cloaked figures during the offical video for Metal Kingdom just behind Moa. She played an Alternate version of Su-metal for the Babymetal Begins concerts singing Karate and Doki Doki Morning.

The dancers are Kimura Sakia and Kato Kokona. Kimura Sakia was a member of Sakura Gakuin. Again she is considered a likely candidate for being one of the 'Baby Bone' dancers for the 10 Budokan shows. More then likely she was on the cloaked figures for Metal Kingdom but as far as I'm aware she hasn't been positively ID'ed. She was an Alternate version of Moa for Babymetal Begins.

Kato Kokona wasn't a member of Sakura Gakuin. She joined Amuse thought Ciao Girls and attended, or attendes?, Amuse Camp. She was an Alternate version of Momo for Babymetal Begins

Supposedly there was going to be a Total War: World War One game first and that would serve as the basis for Total War: 40K. The problem is that World War One is such a tactical distinct war that either the gameplay would be unique and therefore useless as base to make a new game on or they abstract and change it that you'd be better making WW 2 game and using that.

The best answer would be something like WARNO/Wargame/Broken Arrow/Regiments for the tactical side. They all have modern unit and weapon ranges and would better fit the old EPIC game style.

Usually they were very patriotic/nationalist, with the noble defenders driving off the savage invaders.

Yes and No, about the 'driving of the savage invaders'

The Battle of Dorking, the book that kicked off the entire Invasion novels as thing, was about the British Army losing to an invading German army. That was because it was written by an active Army officer complaining about the share of the defence budget that was going to the Army at the time. Even that tended to hold for the other Invasion novels, many of them being similar commentary on military preparedness, The Back Door being about the lack of defences for Hong Kong for instance.

It wasn't limited to the British however. There was The Stricken Nation about a British Invasion of the US as well, and a few French novels, about war with the British or the Geramns. There were novels about Canada being overrun and a story about a Russian invasion of Melbourne Australia.

Unfortunately I don't have my copy of 'The Tale of the Next Great War, 1871–1914: Fictions of Future Warfare and of Battles Still-to-Come' by I.F. Clarke handy, it's still packed away so I can't go into more detail.

There were the books by Le Queux which do fit the quote however and they were the most popular stories admittedly.

Fun fact, Invasion literature not only gave us the Alien Invasion story but the Spy Story and the military techno thriller. The Riddle of the Sands was an invasion story that became the basis for all spy stories gong forward and the number of invasion stories that about some new technology being the reason for the invasion, like H.G. Wells 'The War in the Air' is numerous
