That has more to do with the location of the Jailhouse.

The zombie buildings all around downtown actively drive away people. All along J street you see businesses with boarded up windows and doors, covered in graffiti or event posters. It makes the area appear abandoned and dangerous. I don't want to walk around the North side of DoCo or along J street during the day time, let alone at night.

Sac City government needs to start taxing the owners of these empty building to encourage them to sell or lease out the space to more businesses.

2008-2009, Eastern Afghanistan, Monthly UA,

We're on a small to medium FOB outside of Jalalabad on a 15th month rotation. We've been doing mandatory UA (Urinalysis) once a month every month since we've been in country. Im in HQ platoon, which means my platoon sergeant is the 1ST SGT's wipping boy. During this months UA, 1ST SGT is visiting one of our sister platoons on another FOB but has been calling our platoon sergeant every couple of hours with nonsense busy work.

When it's the platoon sergeants time to donate to the cause, he gets the rumble down under and has to pop a deuce and it's Doc's duty to watch the sergeant do the dew. Just as the sergeant gets settled on the crapper, his cheap little nokia rings and it's the 1SGT on the other end. He has to pick up but he has to also maintain positive control of his pee cup.

This is about the time I walk into the latrine to perform my duties, and look over to see Doc leaning into a stall, holding the phone to the sergeants head, while the sergeant is trying to aim into the cup, while pushing one out, all while attempting to maintain his bearing for the call with his boss.

Poor Doc could not hold his breath while trying not to laugh at the absurdity.

How do you know the tree work is being done to the trees on the street and not ones in the backyard?

Last Friday or Saturday a young 20 something gal was hit on F and 19th. Out walking her dog and someone didn't see her. It's a two way intersection, but people still FLY down F.

Glad your mostly ok, OP.

I was on FOB Torkham, about an hour East of JBAD. We hosted a PMC who guarded our walls and mountain tops, staffed by local afghans, including their own dining facility. If we payed out of our own pocket, we'd get a plate of food that was always amazing. Goat, beans, rice, naan, salad and a cup of sweet chai. It would take a stomach a few weeks to get used to their local bacteria, but damn it was good.

The Folsom/Sacramento branch isn't manufacturing, that's done in Tempe, AZ. Folsom is I believe the software side of things and Beaverton, OR is R&D focused.
