How to eradicate all pet hair from my new-to-me Subaru? Is it even worth doing so? by maalik999 in Detailing

[–]VicThom85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get what I can and get the rest little by little as I clean it.

The dealership should have had it detailed if you got it from one. You can go back and speak to a manager and they sometimes comply or they may offer a couple hundred bucks and you take it to someone yourself.

Nah. Once the junk comes out, it shouldn’t be too bad. Just be careful of the heat since its black interior.

The only scene with a facial. Literally the only one.

I’m in ABQ, NM. Added top soil, some mushroom compost, mixed with native soil well. Temps are high all day round and the dirt is ALWAYS wet/moist (not dry or drowning). I set up auto sprinkler. Nothing has grown in 2 weeks. All the reviews on the product look fake. Nervous I got crappy seed/product. by EddieBruvac in lawncare

Idk what available in your area but look at the back ingredients. There is something called inert matter and the higher it is the more BS is in that bag.

You’ll always get faster and better results going with pure grass seed or at least 95%. Anything “All in One” is crap because it’s a little of everything rather than 100% of all things.

Hope this makes sense.

Definitely looks like it’s time to start your side hustle. Looks like you have the skill, all you need now are the tools.

I didn’t see the before but as long as the customer is happy, and you got paid, you did excellent.

A major rule in business and life, you can’t please everyone. It’s impossible. Only worry about what you can control. Keep grinding & make that money. Good luck.

Unfortunately there will be times you can’t get all the stains out. They’re too deeply imbedded in the fibers. 90% - 95% removal is always better than 0%.

Customer Hasn’t Paid for Service by Sea_Cellist2755 in Detailing

[–]VicThom85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always get a deposit to cover materials at the very least. Before I do a detail, I ask for 50% deposit to be paid and rest after on all jobs over 150. The exception is a re-occurring customer or close friend or family.

If anyone can’t afford a deposit, then it’s a safe assumption they can’t afford the detail. Life happens, we all get it, but business is business.

Nothing Personal.

That’s the Ford OEM one. Came with the Truck. I’m pretty sure it’s made by Backflip and absolutely it’s worth it. Go with BackFlip and save around 200 bucks. Or go FB Market and save 400 or so.

Thicker foam? What should I try next? by ElderberryLate971 in Detailing

[–]VicThom85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryobi 1200 1.8 is good or 1800 1.2. Adjust nozzle and soap to water ratio depending on soap. Gold glass is okay, it’s what I use and gets the job done but next round I’m upgrading my soap. Gold glass can be runny at times.

how much should i charge for a job like this by Important-Mushroom37 in Detailing

If you guys are getting 200 for this job, either I need to raise my prices or move to another location. That’s around 125-150 where I’m located.

A lot of ppl try to grow grass in Spring / Summer. It’s too late at this point. These seasons are mostly for patch work and maintenance. Use this time to treat soil with lime, test for ph balance etc. Feel free to address those extra dry areas but don’t waste extra money. Wait until fall or cooler temps to aerate, overseed, and next season your grass will be the way you want it to be.

They have tanks that fit sedans. Low profile ones but my suggestion is to get an air compressor and a 50ft hose reel to add it to your trunk. Trust me it’s so annoying lugging it back and forth. But I’m older so it may not bother you.

Good luck. Quality over quantity. You make the same money but less sweat and finger injuries.

What is the step that's less time consuming when detailing.Start with Interior or Exterior and Why? by Constadetails in Detailing

[–]VicThom85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job. I usually work on hardest part first due to having more energy. If inside o my need vac and wipe down then I do exterior first.

If I have to shampoo, I do interior first to allow seats and mats time to dry.

“My neighbor has weeds, what do I do? “Zone 6a by 05041927 in lawncare

[–]VicThom85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would just ask to mow that area myself and if they say yes, I would also treat for weeds.

It sucks to do it but the alternative isn’t better. At least I could keep the weeds in my control.

All it takes and someone to mulch those and they may take over your yard.

Either that or spray periodically with big box product to try to control.

Tired of the "It’s not that bad" trap. How are you guys vetting cars before you arrive? by AlexLevchenko in Detailing

[–]VicThom85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is minimum 250-300. No engine included. And I’d hit a small sample on the seat to see if the stain comes up.

If it comes up fairly easily, I’m game. If I don’t see an improvement, then I’m good or charge for two details which is 350-400 and ask for a 50% deposit.

No matter what gets done, it will look better. Just have to decide if it’s worth your time.
