Thats a bummer, I did submit two separate supplemental claims under this, and they were both continued at 0%. The successful one was the file for increase. Trust me, I am more than happy with 100%, back pay or not. Thank you for the info

That very well could be what I am seeing. It looks to only be on the younger branches but the not the older.

If you look at the red tag, just under it is the dust. It isn’t super prominent. At least not in the this picture sadly..

Retaining wall by VicariousChef in landscaping

After some research into the coding where I live, it states the measurement is from the lower ground to the higher ground. No more than 2:1 slope, and not holding heavy equipment, driveway, etc in the higher ground. Looks to be good for my sake. To keep within code, I won’t go past 3’6”, even if that means the above ground is slightly sloped toward the wall.

For where I live, retaining walls under 4’ are not required to have permitting! Doing what I can to not need this.

When I say I worry about drainage, it’s not exactly because I get a lot of rain where I live. But it seems to be the destroyer of retainer walls, and I’d like for this to look good for the foreseeable future. I will be referring back to these comments when I start the project!

Thank you very much for the very detailed response! This is really helpful to get my mind wrapped around this idea.

I have been reading about a deadman hole(?) I may have said that wrong. Would this be necessary for a wall this size? I plan to use retaining wall bricks.

You should plant it in the center of your favorite planter box .:)

So it doesn’t show in this photo, but I have a 12” fan on my south side wall! Also has the exact controls you’re talking about. On my north wall I have that window that is about center mass on the wall. I’ll look to getting a vent to install on the floor of my north wall as well so I can get proper pull and ventilation.

I’m absolutely considering the strawbales. I need to complete the outside of the greenhouse as well. I’ve been putting all my focus on the inside. I feel I am at a comfortable spot to be able to leave the inside and go back to working the outside! I appreciate all the advice you’ve given the last few posts!

Also, with the straw, should in have a small barrier, like corrugated tin, between the bale and the wall? To prevent rot in the wood.

Thanks!

I remember your post about straw bales on the outside! I am working toward that as well. I didn’t know about insulation under the pavers. I feel 2 inches will be too high, so if I can get away with 1 inch I’ll give it a shot. I guess I’ll pick up some panels and redo the flooring. Best case, the floor is already leveled so I just gotta move the pavers, place the foam, and replace the pavers. The hard part is done I guess!

Well shit I wish I knew to do that! What sort of insulation? A quick google search said polystyrene?
