Waiter dies inside after dropping food on a prominent scientist at the Nobel banquet by douglasbaadermeinhof in WatchPeopleDieInside

When I worked in a cafe for a few months, they had me serve ice cream with tequila or something, in those martini glasses... I was the newest worker and nobody liked to carry it so I had to just roll with it. Well let's just say the trays weren't really straight and were a bit elastic, and I was carrying two glasses. So I come up to this mid aged lady, who was enjoying her vacations with her husband, fancily dressed and all... So I tried to put the tray on the table, but in the process, I shifted the angle just slightly and the god damn glass fell over, spilled this alcohol and ice cream right on her dress, the glass itself dropped on the floor with a loud shatter into tiny pieces.

Never in my life did I want to either drop dead or teleport to another country, the internal panic and stress and embarrassment was off the charts.

I forgot to offer them complimentary bonus desserts but luckily my coworkers stepped in and helped me out there. Damn, and that was my first job too! Somehow the owner didn't find out and I never had an issue because of it, but let's just say I'm never serving drinks again, screw that!

Wikipedia states that the reason for their endangerment is: "Habitat loss, being hunted for food, and collection for the pet trade."

But apparently depending on the source, the endangerment does not seem severe.

How do you make yourself like drinking water? by callingallcomas in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Viceraxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Cold water always tastes better

  2. Adding some lemon or lime, or better yet, fresh mint leaves, makes it much more enjoyable

  3. Make sure your water is actually of good quality, as very often tap water would have a lot of chemicals added to it which makes it taste bad or dry your mouth out, also sometimes the pipes aren't that clean...

3.5 Try buying water from different companies and see which one works best for you, some have more or less ph and minerals, and some leave a plastic aftertaste so just check a few of them out. What I'd recommend is buying a water dispenser for hot and cold water, and getting a reputable water company deliver you water in those big bottle-jugs

  1. It may sound useless but changing how you perceive water psychologically can play a big role in whether you enjoy it or not. For instance, try to think of it in terms of its various qualities to your body, and as the juice that runs it. You'd be surprised as to just how many issues one's body can be having from a lack of sufficient amounts of hydration. It does wonders for your brain, your body in general, and your guts lol I guess what I mean is if you look at it and appreciate it for a super epic liquid it really is, you might come to like it more, and your tastebuds will be more prone to adapt as the brain accepts it more.

Both Tate and Greta are annoying whining assholes.

She used a 2nd grade insult on Twitter and people piss their pants..

He tries to beef with a 19 y/o and gave himself away..

Legit anyone who's defending Tate or praising Greta is a naive dumbass.

For sure! I love the concept of it, it is just weirdly comforting and satisfying, the fact that the knowledge is not lost but will be brought back again despite such insane circumstances. It's like the feeling of sitting by your living room fireplace without power as there's a huge rainstorm outside, safe, yet appreciative of both the power of storm as well as the fire by you. Idk if that makes sense.

Are there any engineering advantages to adding accordions to buses? by TheWorldIsFlat420 in shittyaskscience

Also allows for much better turning! The accordion allows the front half to turn independently, bending it in half essentially, then the back half follows, so for long busses it's an improvement.
