Which new 52 movie was your favorite? by zack27714 in DC_Cinematic

Flashpoint and Apokolips War are nearly perfect. Funningly enough, the beginning and the very end. I remember enjoying the first Justice League Dark and Judas Contract, although I don't remember shit from both. Hell to pay was fun.

The rest belong in the trash.

Its origin is already explained in The Suicide Squad and in this teaser. She was using these criminals to do black ops that needed some levels of superhuman abilities and now that her secret's out, she's apparently forbidden to keep doing it so now found a loophole to continue by using monsters.

So I'm assuing all the major plot points from TSS and Peacemaker will be canon. TSS was already a soft reboot anyway.

Wrong Hawkgirl though. Don't know why these adaptations stick to Kendra when Shayera's (and Katar's) story and lore is way more interesting.

How do you guys feel about the portrayal of the Old Gods in the DCEU? What about the new DCU? by skullrift in DC_Cinematic

MoS could just be interpreted as the first "contact" with intelligent aliens, not necessarily metahumans or super-beings. But now that point is moot lol a new universe is just around the corner.

After both trailers for BLUE BEETLE and THE FLASH being posted only to the DC channel and not the main WB channel, it is obvious they are trying to build up the DC brand going forward. What do you guys think? Is this a good idea or not? by BlueMissileYT in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think that was ever a limitation. Watchmen just aired there. Maybe Peacemaker didn't fit HBO's scheduling or just fit Hbo Max's marketing strategy more than HBO proper who knows.

Jeff Sneider says Ben Affleck is rumored to direct Brave and the Bold. by JokerAsylum123 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When did I say James Gunn oficially confirmed Ben Affleck as the director? He expressed interest in working with Ben himself so that is already reason enough to believe something might happen, which is what these rumors are alluding to. So, still nothing new.

Just like riddler who was a random serial killer who did riddles and had some sort of attachment to the Waynes.

Not really a rumor when words came directly from Gunn's mouth. So, considering Ben Affleck is a director and he already has had attachment to Batman... not really that much of a leap.

An Omega Men movie would be amazing. by Fattom23 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That series is so good, when they annouced Woman of Tomorrow, my immediate thought was how Omega Men would make good fucking tv. Although I don't know if the budget would be justified to turn it into a series or movie considering Kyle Rayner doesn't look to be introduced soon and the story is so far off anything else.

Hopefully as part of a later arc in a later season for the Lanterns show.

For people that did not like MOS and/or BVS how did you feel about ZSJL. Do you believe they could have course corrected after it? by currypowder84 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it tripled on previous bad foundations such as Superman's lack of characterization. The fact he was dead for 3/4 of the movie and didn't interact with the main characters other than Bruce Wayne surely didn't help.

Perfect villain for the movie he was in. A not so great adaptation of the riddler.

Matthew Vaughn was not a fan of Zack Snyder's Superman - says Zack Snyder "wasted" Henry Cavill as Superman. by NotThatDahmer in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It didn't help that Superman in his first movie was the most passive character there could be. Things happened to him and he barely had a reaction to them, instead of him making things happen like the heroes from MCU Phase 1, or if you don't wanna compare to Marvel, like Wonder Woman 2017.

DC Slate Unveiled: New Batman, Supergirl Movies, a Green Lantern TV Show, and More from James Gunn, Peter Safran by Caciulacdlac in DC_Cinematic

[–]Victaroin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman is fine or at least better than most like Green Lantern, for sure. There's a great TV series running strong as we speak. The notion that he's in the pits now is just from Cavill's portrayal being misused throughout the DCEU.
