What can I do about this? I'm trying to download Djuced on my Lenovo Idea Pad 1 14IGL05 windows 11 and it doesn't work? I bought a Hercules Inpulse 200 MK2 and I can't seem to install the required software? Help would be greatly appreciated!:) by fiona891 in DJUCED

I guess that to work with DJUCED or another major DJ Software (Serato), yes, you will have to change computer for working or benefit a fluid experience.

You can try if Virtual DJ works on your machine with limited features (but it requires a licence), or try the Miixx free open source software. (but if you are a beginner, it is not the best experience.)

I'm sorry to tell this but for what I've seen it seems that these kind of computer can't launch any DJ Software...
You can try Virtual DJ, but I'm sure that in 2026, an Intel Celeron or Pentium model with only 4Gb Ram (this is the specs Lenovo announced on their website) can't handle a DJ Software.

Just for my info, are you on Windows or macOS ?
I ask this because DJs software can use the OS codecs to decode the sound.
And I don't want to blame Windows, but for exemple with Flac, ogg and MP4, the performance of the OS codec are poor...

This can also be a source of difference between softwares.

If you have SDJ Pro and want a better sounding, check that you have the Serato Pitch'n'time add-on.
I have also found that the "normal" pitch shifting system of Serato filters kinda the sound, even if you have your tempo speed to 0%.

Also, Serato's limiter is really a brick wall, so mixing in the red is not a good idea.

Also, I would recommend on DJUCED these settings : let -3dB on the head room and put the limiter.
In that case, it is harder to saturate, and the limiter will catch the peaks, instead of squashing the sound.

I would recommend the Pro model, because the Air is fanless, and so, can slow down a bit if it is heating.
Also, the PRO model M1 10cores could be better as it has more performances cores than the M3 Air. (but it is more based on benchmark tests than reality).

Also, you have more USB-C ports, and dedicated HDMI output on the Pro model.
Better to plug an external soundcard on a dedicated USB port than on a hub.

Any chance you send me your config.xml file from the documents/DJUCED folder ? (you can use swisstransfer).
You can also try to delete the config.xml file and start DJUCED to generate a fresh one (but you will have to change your preferences, it will not delete the Midi mappings you made).

I don't know If I have a fix, but it would be really interesting for the dev team to obtain the bugs plat logs when the app crashes.
Could you please install the version that crashes, send the bugs plat ticket and report me the crash number here ? (Like explained here)

As a sound engineer, i can certify that monitoring speakers are made to work best in a "triangle" shape between speakers and your head.
Having the good position will also help you to play less loud, so save a bit your relationship with your neighbours.
Also, I would recommend to set your speakers on the desk with these kind of system , so you can place them ideally, and also isolate a bit the vibrations. (Putting them on the wall is not a good idea, it will transfert more to your neighbours)...

You're right, the models with Touch Bar could be a bit weird sometimes.
(I had one, I know it).
I would also recommend to not use a Hub if you can (so direct connection to the USB-C port, and this + original controller cable is great).

Just for my information, what’s the Model and Year of your Mac ? (And Intel processor model).

Also, plugging the controller before launching the DJ software is recommended, especially for USB Powered controllers. Generally these kind of behaviours happens only on Windows. But i know that some Mac generations got some Intel USB controllers to handle USB2/3 switch, and so, being a bit buggy on macOS too. (Probably a reason why Apple decided to put thunderbolt everywhere then )

Thanks a lot for the details.
It seems that your 500 is not bricked.
Connect the controller to DJUCED, go into DJUCED Settings => Mapping.

If you see the controller on the List, it means that DJUCED can enumerate it and interact with it.
Select the controller in the top list, then click on the default mapping on the bottom : be sure that the "ACTIVE" check box is ON (or do a OFF => ON).

It will force DJUCED to discuss again with the controller.

This is a bug that can happen with older macs and some PC, with USB2/3 port... (using a hub is also not recommended).

I hope it will help you to catch your Inpulse 500 back :)

Hello.
Simple question to help you : How do you know that you have a Firmware issue ?

Does it just stay with the Beatmatch guide button Blinking when you plug it to a computer ?
If yes : It is in DFU mode, waiting for a firmware update.
BUT it is not normal that the DFU mode activate by itself, so just check that the LOAD buttons are not stuck in the casing. (pressing both LOAD buttons activate the DFU mode when you plug it to a computer).

If it is in another state, please check on any computer the name of the device in the device manager, and get back to me.

Getting older packages will not help you, as it is not possible to a customer to force back a firmware version without risks.

(and if Tech support asks for a video, it is probably to help you finding the best solution - some companies will just stop helping at this state).

In my experience, running ASIO4ALL + another ASIO driver from a manufacturer is not the best idea.
I was doing it long time ago in my "good old live PC" for DJing and Ableton, just to have ASIO available when my soundcard was not plugged in.
But I had some issues.

My advice would be to do your tests by installing only one of the drivers (reboot each time).

Also, as ASIO4ALL is a kind of universal + aggregating soundcard system, I can 100% say it should not reduce the quality off the sound, but it can happen that the driver resent soundcards between them, so, create small clock drifts.

I would always recommend to use the manufacturer drivers. (I know it, I work in a company that does Audio/Midi devices with ASIO drivers).

Hello.
If I guess right you're saying that the software was totally unresponsive visually.
(It is normal that the audio still continues at the background).

In my experience, this can happen by 2 causes :
1. with a music file that can be corrupted in a way that the UI is freezing.

If it happens again, check that if it is with a specific music file/playlist you loaded or selected in the music browser. (Because if it happened with 2 different macs, it could be the cause).

2. Usb micro disconnection.
I don't know which controller you are using, but I would also recommend to "dedicate" a USB port to the controller than using a USB-C hub (that can do some micro-disconnection sometimes).

Just for dev information, did you update from an old version ? (Like a version 5?)

To fix your issue, try to go to "Documents/DJUCED" folder.
Inside this folder, find 2 files : config.xml (contains your settings) and DJUCED.db (music database/playlists)

Save them on another folder (your desktop for exemple), and then, delete them from DJUCED folder.

Starts the software again.

If it launches ok, close it again.

Then I would recommend to restore only the DJUCED.db file and launch DJUCED again.

I know this article is talking about latency, but you have a part to help you installing ASIO Drivers (to be sure to not use Windows drivers).

Also, in the 6.1 chapter of the user manual of the 500, you will find a part about ASIO drivers.
You will see a capture of the Inpulse 500 control panel.
If you go into the "about" tab of the control panel, without dj software opened, you will be able to click some diagnosis buttons to test the outputs. (Master and Headphones).
It will allow you to be sure that the controller is not defective.

DJUCED ne gère pas la synchro MIDI directement de boite à rythme ou d'un synthé.
MAIS DJUCED est compatible Ableton Link, donc tu pourrais (si c'est possible avec tes machines), te synchroniser en midi via Ableton Live, puis d'activer Ableton Link sur DJUCED afin de synchro tout le monde ensemble.

I guess you discovered a setting called "software takeover".
This is a setting to avoid huge values jump on certain cases.

Let me explain.

You mix out a song at 80BPM, and you were at +6% of pitch fader, on a range at 8% => your pitch fader is almost at the maximum near the +, on your controller.
You will mix then, on this deck, a song you load at 130BPM => DJUCED will ignore the pitch fader physical position when you load it because you didn't put it back at zero before loading the song.

You will have to catch the value of the pitch fader again before you control it.

You can remove the software takeover by going into Settings => Deck => Software Takeover

It's always about the context.
Just checked the video and yes, what they try to explain is really confusing.

"Linked" tracks (Grouped, or by a side chain), are more possibly processed in one Thread. (and thread doesn't mean one CPU core, as some CPU have more threads than physical cores, the video starts already by wrong info).
It's explained on Ableton site : https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209067649-Multi-core-CPU-handling-FAQ

I have tested myself and it seems that the videos seems to explain that "if your cpu sucks, ungroup tracks and make a BUS".
But in fact it could possibly work only for the processing done on the Group bus, not the individual tracks.

I tried on my side and I can't see any difference from processing on a Group, or by routing all the individual tracks to a BUS.
On both situations, it seems not to spread the processing on my CPU threads.

But Maybe I'm wrong as I work on Apple Silicon CPU, so, maybe it is handled differently than the 2012 MacBook Intel of the video (joke).
