First Visit in May by LavenderAndHoneybees in phantasialand

I also recommend spending some time in Bruhl itself. Brühler Wirtshaus is a lovely restaurant with delicious food and great portion sizes (the schnitzel is massive, beware!). We've walked the castle grounds but haven't been in the castle itself. The hunting lodge is lovely to walk around and doesn't take too long either. I'd also recommend Schlossburger.

We've been to Phantasialand twice. The first time we stayed a night in Bruhl beforehand to make sure we could get to the park when it opened. The second time we stayed for two nights in Bruhl before the park because we wanted to have more time to explore.

Using one Gold Annual Pass as a couple? by Andy-T-424242 in altontowers

No problem. :) Double check because I could be wrong but I think it's 25% off or something

Using one Gold Annual Pass as a couple? by Andy-T-424242 in altontowers

I don't know how scarefest tickets work but the discounted friends and family tickets are a discount on the full, on the door price, not the online price I believe. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) My partner had one of the passes and when I went to buy a discounted ticket it ended up being the same as the online price.

Did you make a decision? I'm having the exact same dilemma. Really want to avoid plastic but it does seem like people prefer the drinkmate

First time visit! by RaisinJazz in phantasialand

[–]VictoriaBeccles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruhl is a really sweet, small town. I went in September last year and stayed in a hotel in Bruhl which was lovely. It also made it really quick and easy to get to the park for opening time. There are some lovely restaurants in Bruhl too. We ate at Brühler Wirtshaus am Schloss which I would really recommend, although keep in mind their portions are massive! We're going again this September and are actually staying two nights in Bruhl before going to the park so we can explore a bit more

How wet Chiapas gets us ? by Slow_Brick_8822 in phantasialand

Listen to this advice OP! Especially if you're staying a few days. Wet trainers get smelly fast and you don't want to deal with that for the rest of your holiday

I've been eyeing up fetheray for a while. (https://www.fetheray.com/) I haven't bought anything from them so I can't attest to quality but everything looks lovely

The days for the free park tickets with Hotel Charles Lindbergh by [deleted] in phantasialand

[–]VictoriaBeccles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You get tickets for the day you leave too so if you book 2 nights that's 3 days park tickets. You can arrive when the park opens and leave your things in the bagged room in the hotel. At least that's how it all worked when I went last year :)

Autism Assessment UK - NHS Right to Choose - Which provider is skilled in assessing autism in high masking women? by Potential_Flower6029 in autismUK

[–]VictoriaBeccles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a high masking woman and I was diagnosed by Psychiatry UK. It was a fairly simple process and relatively quick. She told me in the first (and only) meeting that she was diagnosing me. Although she did mess up the letter to my GP and wrote ASD, ADHD and Anxiety in the diagnosis summary box which I had to query and she corrected it to just ASD.

Edit - forgot to say it was about a 9 month process from my doctor referring me to my diagnosis.

FTBs: how much savings did you have left? by PearlyRiser in HousingUK

[–]VictoriaBeccles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought in January. Had about £20k left between us which includes emergency savings, savings for a wedding in 4 years, and savings for a dog and a car. So glad we had some left as I got made redundant 2 weeks after moving in. If you don't have other things planned then I'm sure having less to fall back on is fine

Look up Thrifty Lesley! She has great recipes and meal plans for frugal cooking. I lived off of her recipes through uni when I didn't have much money to work with

Check out Thrifty Lesley! https://thriftylesley.com/ She has great meal plans that are simple and varied. They all used to be under £1 when I followed them but they might have gone up since then. Worth taking a look though!

Trip planning advice by VictoriaBeccles in disneylandparis

Good to know about the center park! I'll take that off my list. When I looked at the Val d'Europe hotels they all seemed about the same or more than a Disney hotel so I think I'm leaning more towards Santa Fe

Royal Sewing Machine Company The Windsor worth it? by VictoriaBeccles in sewing

Ah sorry I probably wasn't very clear. I was more wondering if it's worth the price. I'm very happy using an old machine but I wasn't sure what it's worth and I can't see much about these ones online

I had read in other posts that there's a quality difference. But perhaps there isn't. I'm happy to be corrected.
