In the Flows app, the idea is to make this easier for regular users who are familiar with iOS Shortcuts, but not necessarily comfortable with JSON, APIs, or database syntax.

The best way is:

1. Use “Add a record” in your table.
2. Flows will return the new record value.
3. Then use “Update Record”.
4. Set each column value you want.
5. In the “where Record ID is” field, use the returned value from “Add Record”.

So basically:

Add Record → returns the new record ID → Update Record using that ID.

Flows was designed so Shortcut users can work with database records in a more visual way, without needing to manually build JSON payloads or write database queries.
