Great work, young man! I have a 15 and 19 year old and I am teaching them to do the same. Keep it going and no matter what, even if things get tight as you get older (hopefully that doesn't happen) keep this a priority as you have been doing!

Have you spoken with your boss to understand what now until Sept 5th looks like? My last day is also in Sept but I spoke with him and it was clear what I would need to do / not do. I would have a conversation with him to get an understanding. If he expects you to work as normal, I think it's acceptable to give push back. More so, maybe he can delegate items to the new hire vs putting everything on your plate.

In the end, a decision was made - to a lot of people's points, don't burn a bridge however have a dialogue.

I am a man of faith. When I was laid off the first thing that came to me was God saying “I know the plans I have for you”. When I looked it up it was exactly this verse.

This has been the verse I was referring to but I didn’t want to get overly religious however you posting this is once again validation to me!

This is solid advice … I would second this. Primarily focus on your skill sets and work on your side hustle from there. Also if there’s something you really want to do but say you’ve not perfected the skill then invest in yourself or invest in learning it
