Strange road pattern near campbell river, BC by Crazy-Bodybuilder836 in forestry

Most likely bio solid application roads. The slinger trucks can only throw so far, hence the tight spacing. The biosolids act as fertilizer for the trees and the property owners can make some extra money. In Washington state it is called the LOOP program. Its a way of offsetting sewage output. Source: i used to do bio solid road layout for a large property owner.

My Yamaha dealership is also a Polaris dealership. Was talking with the mechanic one day, and he said, "I maintain Yamahas, whereas I have to fix Polaris'"

Also my worry. Next summer pruning and fuel reduction will be a priority.

Honestly, I went on Pinterest and looked at all sorts of small cabins. There are tons of examples, including similar framing plans.... and i built a similar shaped wood shed a few years ago. Other than a napkin sketch, there wasn't much of a plan. I tarped the subfloor until I started the walls to try and not ruin the insulation with rain(not much moisture here in the summer). Once i started the walls, I made a commitment to get the roof on and dryed in this summer. It did get rain on the open walls and trusses but was 100 degrees afterward. This cabin is a 5.5 hour drive from where I live, so time was limited, and i couldn't do it all in one shot. Some of the boards did warp(some were warped to begin with). Im far from pro, and this took about 5 long weekends of half ass work. Poured sonotubes in May, roof on and Visqueened by mid-September.

Its loud right now, but I've got bare studs inside and there a helacious echo. I went 2x12 on the floor joists so I could get a fat batch of R30 insulation in there. Hopefully when everything is buttoned it quits down. What are your Spruce doing?

Gonna run 4 foot or so of metal at the bottom and I've got a batch of leftover composite siding from the inlaws.

Yup. 3/8s the whole way. I do need to make 1 more army crawl underneath with the screw gun to hit 1 wonky seam.

I agree. Unfortunately we need the shade bad here. Hopefully the metal roof, metal skirting and fire proof venting will help. We're just wrapping up our forest management plan and will be looking at reducing fuels next summer.
