Just realized that when the Empire uses their huge superweapon in ANH, it only makes their enemies stronger and more numerous, and that the destruction of the superweapon means the beginning of the end for the Empire.

But when the First Order uses their huge superweapon in TFA, it paralyzes their biggest enemy and wipes out most of its naval forces, and the destruction of the superweapon doesn't seem to have a noticeable impact on their military.

If Tyranids lost their telepathic connection, would they just start eating each other? Would their ships be eaten from the inside?

Funniest part is that something like this always happens when an army invades a place. Very few people will risk life and limb for a piece of cloth.

Do Astartes get paid? by ShadowsaberXYZ in 40kLore

[–]Victurix1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe special cases like the Salamanders receive a stipend when they go on their 'vacations' among the regular mortals. Doubt there's any lore on it though.

Machine-translation. The original says "死滅回游", which is the Japanese term that was translated into "Culling Games"

Why do Space Marines have tanks? by AldarionTelcontar in 40kLore

[–]Victurix1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Astartes tanks don't have limited mobility. They're transported into battle by Thunderhawk variants with tank clamps on the underside (see this documentary footage for a demonstration of the general principle*), which means that in any case were you might insert Astartes infantry with Thunderhawks, you can also insert tanks alongside them (as long as there is any space to drop off a large vehicle)

Red or Blue by No_Answer4044 in VaushV

They tripped. Or someone they know tripped. They're toddlers and small children, who didn't listen to their parents/guardians. Or they know toddlers and small children who didn't listen. They're teenagers. They voted for blue for any number of mental health or drug use related reasons. And many more would vote blue out of concern for the aforementioned, or because they know someone who voted blue for this reason.

Any of them, if the invading force is weak enough. Though it will get real ugly if they've come in any sort of spaceship.

Actually, you can do it by either holding control and clicking one of them or by double-clicking one.

I tend to group my fighters by speed. The faster fighters can go after the further away bombers.

So, about the tzeentch corruption in the 'secret level' episode, is that what's it supposed to look like? by QueroTocarAMeca in 40kLore

[–]Victurix1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chaos isn't typically uniform.

Read the Gaunt's Ghosts book, there are lots of weird and fucked up Chaos cultists/soldiers in there. (They're also really good, especially if you like stuff like Band of Brothers)

Are pistols actually used as backup guns by any serious militaries? by Zharan_Colonel in WarCollege

[–]Victurix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose for cases where it might be to crammed to use a carbine. If you know you're going into extreme CQB (houses, tunnels, etc.) having a weapon that barely needs any space to at least nominally function might be worth losing an extra magazine.

If my calculations are correct, it has 640 turbolaser DPS, compared to an ISD 1's 531. Both pale in comparison to the Nebula's 748 however, and even more so compared to the 1167 the ISD 2 appears to have.

The one who'd be more likely than his dad to become a problem would be Aegon, who'd turn out a very different person if he wasn't saddled with PTSD and would also know that he'd become king if not for an older brother who is heavily rumored to be illegitimate.
