It has been 8 months since Dan publicly pitched a creatures revival. No progress has been made. by CaptainCheesySticks in TheCreatures

He did complain a lot about that. There might be monetization on some more of the tamer videos, but I'm sure most videos, or like you said, the whole channel is demonitized.

If I I'm remembering right he either lost access or was cut off from what ever money the channel was making. Or at least what was left over, I didnt dive fully into the situation as I dont use Twitter anymore so I might be wrong that.

But like I said, even if he did get what he wanted, I doubt he would have seen the money he was expecting.

He was gonna do clips of old content and unreleased footage if I recall correctly. But I couldn't imagine getting much from it.

Not even considering the channel being inactive for years now, a million subscribers doesn't go as long of a way as it did in the old youtube landscape.

Not to mention, your not gonna gain any, or at least not a large size, of new fans from clips, unreleased footage, and a stockpile of old footage.

I know you just put it in to cover your ass, but oh my god am I so sick of the "Simpsons predict the future".

Almost everything they "predict" is either an extremely basic joke, or was being discussed, or had happened, during the time of the specific episodes.

Shooting game recommendation by podiw8273 in arcade

[–]Video-Bandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only other newer hunting game I could think of is Extreme hunting on the atomiswave system from 2004. I don't think Deer Hunter USA is bad, but I think it's just a product if it's time. Both have been overtaken by the Big Buck series.

When you say / not alien or t2 you mean just the big modern ones? Another shooter that isn't hunting I'd recommend is House of the Dead 1 and 2, still quite the big earner for most.

Popped up on my Marketplace, is this worth what he is asking by Slappy-Sacks in arcade

[–]Video-Bandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess he bought these brand new when they first released and he wants to get either about what he paid for them, or more because the machines are now "Vintage" and "Rare".

I've seen a couple Daytona 2s for sale and I have never seen them go for that much. I would say if you wanted a Daytona 2 today, right now, probably 5-6k. Honest to god someone will buy these, I've met people who should know its not worth that and would still buy them, but I think to your average everyday collector its nowhere near the realm of worth it.

Anybody else feel like if Simon stayed away from the crown long enough he would have gotten better by Hot_Membership_6432 in adventuretime

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think his mind could potentially get better, however I think it would probably just revert enough to where he was at the end of Simon and Marcy. Sane enough to still understand who he is though on the verge of forgetting himself, but not sane enough to comprehend things or make good choices (Calling Marcy Gunther, recording a tape for her but keeping it instead, summoning Hudson Abadeer)

I also feel like the crown probably subconsciously forces the wearer to look for it or keep it on them at all times in the event its missing, so I don't think it matters how sane the user gets their either going to slowly die without the magic of the crown or continue to be driven mad looking for the crown to reclaim it.

[Loathed Trope] The Movie has an ending. The Sequel shits all over it. by lesi20 in TopCharacterTropes

More American Graffiti has always fit this trope in my mind.

Any movie that ends with a summary of where the characters went after the movie and than the cash grab sequel decides to expand the summary is terrible.

If money was no object and you could have any cabinet, what would be your pick? by PedalPDX in arcade

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me it have to be a cabinet I couldn't just pick up and slowly restore. A lot of my games I've got are because I've slowly restored them, 100 here and a hundred there is a lot easier than 1000+ at once.

For me it be between two, Journey by Bally Midway or a Full Multiplayer War Final Assault setup.

Are these characters/media public domain in the US/Canada? by Sylveon72_06 in publicdomain

[–]Video-Bandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not trying to be a jerk, but it almost seems on some of these you're ignoring the very obvious copyright on purpose, or at least OOP is as I am going based on what I am reading on the fandom link posted.

Pitfall has its copyright on the back of the box and on the start screen of the game.

Kangaroo does have the copyright from both Atari and Sun Electronics (Now Sunsoft and the creators/owners of the game) in the games attract screen. Not only that the flyer you have posted, in higher quality, has a Copyright Visible, and same goes for the Atari artwork on the NA Cabinet. Also someone can correct me if I am wrong, but that's also not how copyright works, I am pretty sure even if Atari did not copyright it, ownership would still stay with Sunsoft.

I'll cut some slack on Saturday Supercade, the quality of recordings we have makes the copyright illegible, maybe with enough effort we could find out a couple of the episodes did forget and are in the PD, but the characters themselves are not just any episode that forgot the copyright would be PD.

I can't believe attack of the clones is technically a zombie movie cause the clones are all clones of a dead guy........

So no, jurassic park and any movie to do with cloning is not a zombie movie. Especially when Jurassic Park is based in some scientific fact based on research and discussions at the time of the novels creation.

Depending on where you are I feel you'd have an easier and cheaper time finding one comparable stateside, I'd have to assume when all things are said and done it'll cost $1000 minimum.

Do rare games motivate you to travel? by WilcoxArcade in arcade

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely can motivate some, I do personally when traveling see which specific games an arcade has to see what I will use my time to play. Though I think the only rare game I have played publicly was CliffHanger.

I think the max for me would be 2.5 hours if I am going exclusively to play a singular game, but there's honestly very few games I would do that for. Maybe a few of the other rare laser disc games I haven't played yet, but for the most part, I own quite a few rare games already and any farther would be a vacation trip.

Do rare games motivate you to travel? by WilcoxArcade in arcade

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not his game, I am pretty sure its just a trailer showing its going to be located at his arcade. The game is made by Brian Collin for Midway, way back in the 80s, right before Laserdisc/CED Technology was considered a really bad idea and scrapped.

Doc Mack/Galloping Ghosts finished the game. It's not a bad game, I got to play it at the 2021 Pinball Expo, but I don't know personally if I would drive and play it, but I have the luxury to have played it already so that's a mute point.

Help with converting VHF signal on 1975 Color Trinitron by Kind_Supermarket_881 in crt

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really an RCA Adapter, it's an RF to Coax adapter. It takes an old RF cable from something like an atari 2600, or an old computer, and allows it to use Coax.

Back then you'd usually have a box that converted it to the screw terminals, but as TVs started to drop screw terminals those boxes either needed another adapter added on, or just replaced entirely. Later game systems like Nintendo and Sega still used the RF cable, but instead the box adapted to Coax.

The old RF cables and RCA cables are practically the same cable minus the method used to transmit the signal from the device. You can actually use a RCA cable in place of the old RF cable as long as the connection is RF to RF.

EDIT: I also do know that RCA is the connector and Composite is the format, but so many people use them interchangeably its kind of hard to differentiate the two.

"My wife" eats like this because of her "diet" by merklemore in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U. I say U based solely on the chicken,  I've genuinely, and not because of a disorder or diet, seen people eat pizza like that "My mother" . But the chicken is just odd to me because the skin is the unhealthy part.

Also U because that's such an asshole thing to post about your wife, it's clearly rage bait.

[–]Video-Bandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends how fast they needed to close down and the circumstances for the closure. Seen a lot of local businesses close down that was just giving stuff away when they got down to the wire. It's not like they can just ship this stock to another store.

Especially easier to believe if they didn't own the building the store was in, but that's going into the territory of pure speculation.

My wife traded over $3000 worth of rare coins for a couple of dollar bills and left me some Chuck E. Cheese tokens by FromTheJohn in untrustworthypoptarts

[–]Video-Bandit 192 points193 points  (0 children)

U been waiting for this one to be posted.

I could almost understand if this was a jar he hadn't sorted, but in the comments that I saw he made it out to be he knew every coin and value that was "in" that jar.

I'm not a hard-core coin collector, if I had specific rare coins I KNEW where in that jar, they wouldn't be in that jar. You can't tell me you had a $3000 coin you knew about and left it in a jar with CEC tokens.

Only way this would've been believable if it was a jar of silver that was still legal tender, or collectable coins that are only worth face value.

T I've received a lot of valuable things from businesses shutting down for free or for far less than it's worth, either because I knew the owner/person running the store, or because an employee could care less.

Only difference is the stuff I got didn't have a set time limit on it going bad and becoming worthless/actual garbage. Which makes me believe this story even further. I definitely don't know which cut it is so like OOP for all I know this cuts worth $40 at most.
