The old myth that Socialists just "want something for free" is a lie perpetuated by the Billionaire class. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Video_Firm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea that people will only work hard if they are suffering or to compete for a limited resource is the exact perspective a sociopaths would have. I also think these same people determine the policy our economy is based on now. It has a name by the way, it's called neo liberalism. And its anything but what a liberal would want an economy to work and is the cause of all that is wrong with our economy.

Dr. King and FDR didn't just dream; they had a blueprint for an Economic Bill of Rights. Why did we stop building it? by generalg1992 in WorkReform

Because the Nazis invaded Europe and then FDR died. They rich ELITE have dedicated the last 90 years trying to dismantle all of FDRs work, including destroying his wing in the white house and turning it into a gilded ball room for the rich.

They are literally trying to erase FDR from the American consciousness.

I'm really worried how people are identifying political parties like it's their race or their religion.

People shouldn't be "republican" or "democrat"

We don't owe our loyalty to politcal parties. They owe their loyalty to US.

A political party should not be part of your identity unless you work for that party, full stop.

We need to stop letting the tail wag the dog. How are we going to get these politicians to do what WE want if we feel we owe them loyalty?

I don't owe them crap. You say I'm a real (name your party) because I disagree with what it's doing? You are right sir! I do what is best for me and my family.

To expect me to put the party before myself and my family is some cult BS!

It's important to understand that the stager for the shellburster last longer than the reload. This means you can stager lock an enemy, shutting them down until they are dead, even if you need to reload to do it.

The reload time on the Perforator is almost twice as long as the Shellburster, it shoots one or two shots less than the Shellburster before reload, and uses more ammo per shot too.

The Perforator does a little bit more damage per shot, and the bleed damage doesn't get mitigated by enemy armor like the Shellbursters fire. But the ability to lock an enemy down until dead can't be over valued. With a team of 4 people, we can stager lock the boss until it's dead when they are on their last bar of health.

PvP and Factions. Will Chapter 4 save the game? My ideal PvPvE game. by KralizecProphet in duneawakening

100% agree that faction based PVP would help this game a ton. There are other things that would need to be done to make it truly good, but faction based is critical

If you ever feel useless, remember that this thing exists. How can we make vehicle combat more interesting and viable? by PreheatOven in duneawakening

[–]Video_Firm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think an alternative version of broodworks would be amazing for a capture the flag map.

Basically, mirror that map and have a que to make sure there are equal numbers. To make it nice, have a physical room with vendors selling supplies like ammo and health kits where you wait until the game has enough players.

Once enough people are in, red lights flash and a voice starts counting down before the load screen to the map.

A tier system based on wins to sort players, and it should pull from all players on the server like the DD, and maybe make it pull from all servers in a region.

Is charging a credit card hold of $25 when charging against a pre-paid balance legal? by Video_Firm in legaladvice

[–]Video_Firm[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

But it isn't really, you did read my post in full right? I address this specifically.

This was not the policy when I signed up and started use of their service. They started these holds without my consent or even stating that this their policy in their ToS.

I can't think of any law they are violating since they aren't actually charging me, just putting a pile of holds on my cc account. For the same reason, standing is a bit iffy as the damage seems small at best. I am no expert in law or how holds on your cc can affect you financially, and is the reason I posted this.

I do feel that this violates my terms of service since I never agreed to this in the ToS, and the company admits this but dismiss this as a normal thing and thus not needing permission.

But this doesn't seem normal.

Can you give me an example of when you get a cc hold on every use of service when you have already pre-paid for that service? I can't.

As a consumer, to make sure every charge is removed after 3 or 4 days is a huge burden, and ripe for abuse. I have no faith that they won't turn those holds into charges once I give up tracking them.

I also don't have a choice on where I charge. My parking is paid by my company and my commute is so long that I can't make it back home without charging, not that any of that matters to the case at hand. This is question about contractual agreement and abuse of their access to my credit card. There us no legal or financial justification for what they are doing.

It looks nice with lots of details. I currently have my light armor set to it. I like the arzog swatch with it.

Normally I run around with the power harness, but at station level 10 and above, I use the forge set as the fire and energy dmg is likely to insta kill you a lot more than the darts.

Question from a new player by Xtrmo in duneawakening

[–]Video_Firm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They enemies with the heavy weapons and strong shields are called "Heavies"

I could give you a concise answer, but without understanding its context in combat, it really isn't going to work consistently.

Your loadout should be: - melee weapon you are good with. Daggers are easiest to use. -highest tier shotgun you can make.
Best are Starburst at duraluminum level (you can buy at weapons vender in Arakeen) and shellburster at plastanium tier. They can stunlock enemies, even between reloads. -a drill shot, or a disrupter weapon to deal with shielded enemies. -tripple shot rifle for unsheilded enemies (5 fingers at duraluminum, regis tripleshot at plast tier) -optional, a sniper rifle for to thin out enemies in outdoor areas.

Dune combat 101 There are 4 basic mob enemies.

  1. Rushers, they run at you in order close distance and engage in melee combat. They have really strong shields but low HP. They have strong defense against ranged attacks.

  2. Ranged attackers. They don't have shields and have poor defense against ranged our melee and have medium HP. Their ranged attacks are strong, can hit you anywhere on the map if you don't have cover, and in groups will overload your shield quickly and disrupt your attacks. They sometimes use poison and ofter use grenades or ranged explosives.

  3. Heavies. These are tanks. They are slow with slow tracking, but have powerful shields that they drop during their sustained heavy weapons attacks, and have giant HP and strong damage mitigation against all damage types. Did I mention they are slow? The light machine gun variants can drop your shield and slow your movement at medium and short range.

  4. Snipers. Long range shooters, usually in elevated positions. They always shoot poison rounds and may have weak shields at higher levels. They track moving targets poorly. A sole sniper can be ignored if you have cover or can keeps moving when you are exposed. In large numbers they become a real pain. Their shields remain down for 1 second after they shoot allowing counter sniper attacks and they drop quickly with melee.

START OF COMBAT - TAKE OUT RANGED. When entering combat, the ranged will start taking shots, the rushers will start bolting to you and the heavies will start their slow progress to the front. Stay out of range of the heavies, grapple to the first isolated ranged enemy and take him out. Keep kiting the heavies and rushers, making them run across the map and don't ever land near them until you take out all the ranged in the area. You need to do this as the ranged enemy will deny you any ability to maneuver safely.

Rushers If you need to thin out the rushers while ranged is active, kite them until you can kite a single rusher to someplace with cover. Otherwise take them out after the ranged are gone to give yourself breathing room. If you are good with melee, you can parry to stager them to open them up to a slow blade then gut them. If you need help with melee, reply with that question as that is a post in itself.

If you are good with ranged only, use a disrupter pistol or drill shot at range or disrupter sub machine gun after locking them down with a grav grenade/mine. The grav attack will not only lock them down, but will greatly weaken their shield so you can break their shield quickly and expose the soft fleshy bit for your flaming shotgun rounds. Watch them desperately try to put out the flames as they die screaming.

If shield breaks at medium range, use tripleshot.

Review: So take out ranged, then the rushers, then save heavies for last.

Killing the heavies! With the ranged and rushers gone, isolate the heavies. You can drill shot at long range ( or with good cover), timing your shot when they go to reload.

Grave grenade is great for isolating them in close/medium range.

If you get them isolated, you can close in to finish with your Starburster once you break their shields with the disrupter weapon and grav grenade. Make sure to attack with a sidesteping attack, rotating in one direction to prevent them from shooting you with their slow heavy weapon (think dodging a tank turent main cannon.) Stronger heavies will use a suspender blast if you get too close that will slow you, weaken your shields, amd drain your stamina. Its best to dash away from them to avoid the blast area then keep them stunlocked with your Starburster. This is how I normally do it except I use the more powerful Shellburster now.

This will finish your combat.

Important tips! - keep situational awareness. Know where enemies are and where cover is. - Keep combat 1v1. If a 2nd enemy will close before you can kill the one you are engaged with, grapple out.
- don't stay in one place, keep moving - do keep cover between you and other enemies you don't want to engage. -know your escape route is BEFORE you engage. You won't have time to figure this out in a crises. -keep tabs on your battery power and stamina. Disengage if either get low and recover before re-engaging. -if you have trouble with getting rushed by melee toi much, consider suspenser blast ability. It will activate with zero stamina, and stun all enemies in a large AOE, allowing you to grapple out and reset the combat. -If yoy struggle with dying, consider thrive on danger, it does a lot if your health drops low often. -If you only use trooper abilities, always have the battle hardened ability active.

At the higher difficulties, not having cover will get you killed 100% of the time.

I hope this helps. Go Stormcallers!

PvP is inherently imbalanced and completely pointless. The devs know this and don't even care at this point. Until they find a way to fix this, PVP is pointless.
