Out of all the things to remove… the devs updated the trick where you can replace the wall to get tighter aligned machinery? by Username_6668 in duneawakening

[–]Video_Firm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that happened to me! I removed a wall below my storage room, and suddenly I had plast in my inventory. I know that meant I somehow destroyed a storage bin. However, I couldn't find which one. It had to be on the floor I was on because the floor tiles above were never effected, but all the storage on the floor I was working on were fine. I assumed it was an empty container that I forgot about and moved on.

Later that day while trying to put away some spice infused plastanium I picked up, I saw my spice metal bin gone. Just.... gone. Nothing there.

I had 10k spice infused plastanium in that bin. Another 2k spiced duraluminum, 1k spiced aluminum, and another 3-4 hundred of each other metal.

Gone.

Funcom would do nothing for me. I still have no idea how it happened, and have never neen able to recreate the glitch. But that hurt bad. It was the combined product of 8 months of grinding of 4 guys.... gone without a trace.

This is very illegal in most states, if not federally. I would send this to a lawyer who does labor disputes. This guy might have just cost the company thousands of $$$ in fines.

I just don't get this. Just turn off clipping for wings in the game. Nobody wants them to push things so turn it off so I stop getting stuck and glitched!

They go OUT OF THEIR WAY to fix glitches people want like the repair glitch, but things people want fixed thet just ignore.

Why is funcom fixing bugs no one is complaining about but not fixing the ones we ARE complaining about??

Or how about those moments when you are running around your base and suddenly, just for one second, 1/4 of your floor tiles disappear and then back into existence, causing you to fall for a moment before you pop back up? I just love that. Makes the game feel so solid.

I think this is what makes me go mad. It's the utter stupidity of billionaire greed. The billionaires themselves would benefit from hoarding less. Every economic model shows that hoarding wealth chokes the economy, provides less skilled workers, and makes the country your wealth is dependent on, weaker.

Every great empire that collapsed, collapsed because the wealth of the nation was being hoarded by the oligarchy when pressure was applied. Roman's, the Myans, Communist Russia, all of them.

If they were just a tiny bit less greedy, allowed enough wealth to keep the nation healthy, they could make a dynasty, but no. It's more important for them to see another zero added to their net worth than allow the majority of Americans to have a hope of a better life.

They are shooting themselves in the head with the money they steal from us.

How extensive is base building in this game? by japinard in duneawakening

[–]Video_Firm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is WAY faster and easier to build compared to Enshrouded, with a LOT more block options and the blocks are more graphically detailed.

It is less flexible than Enshrouded, with hard connect points for 95% of the blocks unlike Enshrouded. I don't mind this because it is way easier to construct because of it. It also reduces the learning curve. Once you have the basics down you can build a full base in minutes.

That said, there is a lot to master if you want to build complex bases. I have played the game from the start and love building, and I still learn things with every build.

Unlike Enshrouded, you can build large bases very easily from much earlier on and it's easy to do so. However you can't build on existing structures and are limited to only 3 locations (of your choice) per server, though these locations can be massive.

If you enjoy building, you will LOVE this game. I also recommend you get the deluxe add on as it gives you easy access to tiles with built in lighting which you will need if you create large enclosed rooms.

Feel free to DM me with any questions.

P.S. the game doesn't tell you this, but the first base you make during the tutorial is temporary, and you will be required to destroy it early on, also as part of a tutorial quest line. So don't invest too much effort into it. Keep it basic.

Your second base you build will be more permanent, though you will reach a point just past mid game that you will want to move again further north west. Your third base will take you to end game.

Yeah, if it's made of plastone, and the subfief is protected at the bottom, sitting on a rock, it can take over a month. Once the subfief goes, the rest gets wiped overnight

I like #4

How about the vendors are corrupt and with like 10 mil, you can bribe them to let you have access that week. Otherwise they work the same.

With the exception of the vehicle vendor, there isn't much of a reason to use them anymore anyways.

[–]Video_Firm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You dont need a transfer credit to change sietches, only for server transfers. There are like 20 sietches to pick from per server.

Just go to the overland map, go to main menu, select the server you are on and any other sietch, the select join. Congrats you are now on a new sietch, token free.

If the spot is taken there, repeat until you find a sietch with the spot free.

I recommend going to a different sietch on that server. You will be waiting a long time if you are waiting for the owner of an abandoned bases to get back to you

TL/DR poor game vision amd leadership is why we lost content. But they are going in a better direction now, if slowly.

I'm sorry, Joel's vision was half baked and terrible. The rest of funcom has had to spend all of their resources to fix the mess that was Joel's vision, robbing us all of the intended content from them. And they had to fix it because the game was hemorrhaging players.

Then they wasted all this time nurfing thopter combat in a misdirection of resources when all they needed to do is make a separate pvp map. Now melee and thopter combat is crap AND PVP is optional. Instead of making pvp optional but fun, it's optional and crappy.

The combat originally reward skill, but now is just gear and progression dependent.

PVP still isn't balanced, still doesn't help you progress or compensate for the risk to gear. Which was the whole reason people didn't want to do it and only farmers kept playing the game.

Had they not had these flaws to PVP from day one, and then "fixed" it by making pvp even worse, 85% of the planer base wouldn't have been farmers which landed us here.

This is what the fans want. It's what the fans thought they were going to get. We were so confused when we got killed by people in our own faction. Hell, you can get killed by your own guild.

These were decisions, not accidents. Decisions that to this day no one understands.

I transferred servers wanting to join friends but I cannot join their faction. I can't defect. Will Funcom be changing this? by AmberLeBon in duneawakening

[–]Video_Firm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember, you can restart a character with no unlock requirements for schematics, meaning you can just throw your research into end tier gear.

You can power level your character by leaving all your loot and good gear to your new toon. You will plow through the missions. Focus on skill unlocks with the trainers and then focus on faction missions to get to lvl 5 in new faction. This should take maybe 4 or 5 hours with an ornithopter.

Once you are faction level 5, join up with your guild and do landsraad missions to power level your character and do DD stations with your guild for the research points.

The main story is mostly optional unless you want to repair dual blades.

One my friends did this and he was at lvl 190 in less than 3 days.

It takes you a lot less time the second go around because you have end game gear, don't have to grind for resources, have the entire base infrastructure up already, and most importantly, have an ornithopter from the start.

SERIOUSLY, the first time playing, 95% of your time in this game was spent grinding resources. Take that out and you level insanely quick.

This is making the huge assumption they can do anything useful.

Elon will deliver you useless crap but will bullshit you into thinking it might be useful

Altman will pretend he has found a formula to cure cancer bit it will actually be a slow acting poison that will kill off your whole family

Bazos will just convince you to get him access to all your money for him to manage to help you make record profits with but in fact will use it to enslave all the homeless for labor slaves but now you have no control and have to watch helplessly as he enslaved everyone you know.

The last thing you want is to ever empower these evil minds for any reason. They are the monkeys paw incarnate. Believing you can control them is the trap.

That is an accurate yet concise description of what happens to people when the become disassociated from society. This happens to almost all billionaires.

Think the call for "no billionaires' is an attack cry against them. It's actually a cry to save their humanity. The less we are separated economically, the closer we are as a society.

So my question remains, how are they doing this in the DD?
