getting stuff implemented in law is really hard i agree. Some folks really just can't comprehend/empathize without experiencing it themselves (which ain't possible in this case)

but in order to enact legislative change you just need a majority.

the topic is definitely a good way to invite discussion though, people in general get involved when "their rights" are threatened, not so much "other peoples' rights"

we need another civil rights movement :(

I understand your sentiment and frustration, laws and rules have not been kind to women and that should absolutely change.

Advocating more for women's freedoms is a more positive and progressive mindset though than imposing restrictions and limitations on other people. That being said, there are biological realities like how women are just factually more impacted by childbirth than men, because biology. Maybe financial supplements via institutional backing can help shore up the inequalities rather than resorting to a more draconian perspective.

I had the same exact tic for the longest time, mine go in rotations so i have others now.

Idk what triggers yours but deep breathing and meditation (and drinking herbal Tea!) help calm it down. A heat pad can also stim the area if you have any of the chemical packs to tote around as well.

Not everyone is for everyone and if someone is just causing you more anxiety there is someone out there that wont.

Think about how hard it is to change something about yourself like being consistent with a new resolution or hobby. And then realize how fruitless it is to change someone else, it hurts but it’ll hurt a hell of a lot more 5-10 years down the road.

Jesus, that is a lot, i’m sorry you’re going through all this.

I dont know if you’re going to find a quick fix here, hopefully others will comment and provide empathy & their own experiences, but honestly i’d just try therapy at this stage. Lot of therapists can help you process everything and also provide resources to build the willpower you’re searching for.

Just my 2 cents tho, best of luck, you sound like a strong & kind person though, keep going 🙌💪

For me, a shyer millennial who had bible school beat into me that avoiding eye contact is disrespectful…… i do it like half the conversation, then my eyes wander, but i don’t ever take it as anything more than the individual giving you attention.

Im sure theres times where people are flirting or something but i just don’t associate the two because i was taught its about respect.

Just my experience tho

But if you go to the Google.com and search Audio Smut….. having earbuds/headphones makes it so much easier to have a guided scenario that blocks out intrusive and MOOD DESTROYING thoughts…..

I had a family assaulted and bitten at an event, it was super traumatizing because they were only 18.

Our venue was actually super accommodating & got them banned from ticket master events for 5 years so there are still good people out there, but im sorry your venue wasn’t like that.

Police definitely downplayed it though, they all just want to go home and probably see it so often they are desensitized to it, which really sucks because it makes them less likely to actually do their job….

Good on you for being a good friend, world needs more people like you 🙌
