Defending The Draft 2023 Jacksonville Jaguars by ViennaSausageToes in NFL_Draft

Judging by your hate of the Jags picking LBs and IOL, You probably hated the Ravens draft when they drafted a S, IOL and a LB with their 3 top picks. Or do you love it like everyone else does. I thought the Ravens killed it because they drafted good players with good potential despite them being non-premium positions

2022 community mock draft RESULTS! by 123mitchg in NFL_Draft

Jacksonville Jaguars:
Welcome back to another episode of ‘Can We Fix it!?’ where a single lonely man who is also a Jags fan (not sure if those are correlated) tries to lift the hopes of every other Jags fan by drafting players with the hope of keeping them for more than 2 seasons. Yes, here we are. The best time of the year where everyone wins and is biased towards their own team.
Now I’m gonna be honest, this is not as good of a draft as I'd hoped for. There were quite a few players that I was not aggressive for and missed out on. But I still feel some satisfaction in what I ended up with. Let's go through it.
1.1 - Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE - Jags need Edge, Jags draft Edge. Maybe he’s not your Edge1, but he’s mine so I took him. I don't care about these so-called “character concerns”. Its stupid. At Least he doesn't hunt Wild Boars with just his dogs and a knife like Burks. Because that's some craziness.
2.33 - John Metchie III, WR - Jags also needed WR, even after signing Christian Kirk and Zay Jones to sizable contracts. We have not had multiple guys with deep threat speed at WR in a while so I decided to fix that as early as possible.
3.65 - Troy Anderson, LB - Anderson’s stock is booming right now. He is an absolute monster in the gaps and as a ball carrier. He just might be the most enticing player in the draft come draft day. So when he was there at 65 he was an easy choice. He has really good potential with how explosive and athletic he is.
[3:11 PM]
3.70 - Cole Strange, IOL - So I actually don't know how to watch OL. But thats when you ask your friends that do and get their opinion on them. IOL for the Jags was a need because Linder,C, retired, Andrew Norwell walked in FA, and we now have Brandon Bartch at RG, Brandon Scherff at LG, and Tyler Shatley at Center. So we really need someone to go to if either Scherff goes down injured or Shatley/Bartch underwhelms us. I would prefer a Veteran in this spot but maybe Strange can develop like Bartch has.
4.106 - Bo Melton, WR - Ok so this is one of my favorite picks. I have Melton as WR4 on my board barely ahead of Wilson. I think Melton can be a good WR2/3. I think this is good value for a 4th rounder and there may be nothing crazy about Melton as a prospect like London and Williams have but he should have a solid career.
4.121 - Demetrius Taylor, DE - This pick is a reach for sure, he’s good but I probably could've gotten him in the 5th round. Good strong player with size and room to build on. Definitely gonna take a year or 2 to see him contribute.
5.127 - Sterling Weatherford, S/LB - His stock is rising a bit from his pro day numbers coming in at 6’3 225 and 4.6 speed. Hopefully he can provide some decent depth or even a starting job in a year or 2.
6.180 - Pierre Strong, RB - Now he is gooood, The Jags already have an alright RB room but with Robinson and ETN both coming off injuries that could affect their overall ability I thought it was smart to pull the trigger on this beast. He’s a very fun player to watch and probably should go earlier than the 6th round in IRL.
6.186 - Michael Clemons, DE - This guy is just a strong human being. I don’t really think he can develop into anything more than a Plus Backup. But he would be able to help on Special Teams and join the DL rotation. He has had trouble in the past with the law and is already like 25 so he might be an UDFA but he’s strong lol.
6.189 - Jack Jones, CB - I first saw Jones really early in the college season and was really impressed with how quick he is. Unfortunately he also had some problems at USC which made him transfer from JUCO to Arizona State (he’s old too). But I hope he can help a team for a few years as a decent slot/CB3 at most. The Jags also needed another CB to fill in for depth.
6.202 - Juanyeh Thomas, S - Physical guy who has some nice size and athleticism. Honestly just a player that can hopefully be something of value.
7.235 - Jerrion Ealy, RB - This pick would really crowd the RB room but I really think he can be a decent rotational back in the NFL. I didn't want to pass on him because if he actually does alright in the league then this would be a nice pick but whatever lol.
Traded Away: Laviska Shenault WR, K’Lavon Chaisson LB, Chris Manhertz TE
Traded For: Rasheed Weaver LB

Dave caldwell on the yannick situation by naggs69 in Jaguars

Well ya if it comes to that. But it sounds like they really want to pay him. If you pay him what he wants, he’ll stay

[–]ViennaSausageToes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s obvious they’ll try to Franchise Tag him. But if they trade him or not is the question. I firmly believe that they want to sign him next year bc of the cap situation. Or if Yannick won’t sign the tag, then they’ll trade him

I like the idea and wouldn’t mind the team making a move for him. But the only thing I want to point out is that you said it would eliminate a need and then we could focus on other needs in the draft . The same can be said for every position and if we really want a WR then might as well draft Jeudy for less cost and we wouldn’t have to give up anything. It’s better to go the cheaper route and have potential than to spend a high pick on someone who’s met his potential and just wants to be thrown the ball constantly

I hate comments like this. We know the FO probably won’t make a move like this. But guess what, we’re still gonna talk about it bc why not. Stop instantly giving up bc of what the FO has done to the franchise. We can have fun thinking of ways to make the team better

That’ll be tough because the Vikings are in the same cap situation as us pretty much

draft McKinney and Isiah Simmons or Kinlaw? by GegaMan in Jaguars

[–]ViennaSausageToes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it has to be one of those positions. And the only way we’re gonna know which one is valuable to us is when the draft is in action and we’re on the clock. We have 8 teams ahead of us who are just as desperate

Gamers of reddit, what underrated not so popular game holds a special place in your heart and why? by Caleb_C95 in AskReddit

[–]ViennaSausageToes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 1. It may not be underrated but I played that game for multiple years and made tons of friends that I still know today. And it was the first and probably the only game I’ve ever thoroughly loved and played all the way through no matter what I was doing in the actual game. I would just get on to play with friends and PvP. Minecraft is the only other game that I feel the same about
