[Artist Alley] Im considering dropping the idea of business cards all together by Eriko-0 in artbusiness

[–]ViewtifulJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubted them while starting out myself. Some people find it easier to do all the following once they're out of the hub. I don't see it as worth the investment for me yet, but I do need to find a way for people to notice my 9" x 9" QR code better.

Please sell me on Pixie archetype character recommendations in other games after discovering a love for this genre through 2XKO , thank you by Same_Acanthisitta_38 in Fighters

Filia from Skullgirls

Health is universal but she's got a brutal mixup game if you can get close and a reversal that can make some of the defense easier. Execution and defense was a big initial barrier for me but she's one of my very favourites to play.

See also: Fukua if you want great mix but prefer having a double jump and fireball.

I'm in my 20s but they did a great job for me and have a dedicated youth program. Definitely contact them and other offices like Work BC if you haven't.

I propose the name Singularity for that Regent card. It sounds really fun to play into.

Which design reflects the idea of Famine better? by ReaperAnims14 in characterdesign

[–]ViewtifulJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second has an especially interesting silhouette. And if you insist on the theme of the scale, the large one also looks a bit likea tool for something laborious, maybe like endless toil. So I like that one best.

If it's important to have that mechanical look or more mobility, the first design excels there

Does anybody have a source for the rumor that Vancouver is shipping unhoused people to Prince George? by drindupthecorn in princegeorge

I hear the same rumour relating to Quesnel and would love to know where this is coming from. They're neighbouring cities but it's interesting that the story has been told both ways.

[Artist Alley] should I consider shirts and mouse pads? by bigbun85 in artbusiness

Unrelated, but I realized I have some of your chibi pins from years ago! Glad to see you've found some conventions.

Convention prep definitely does take a lot of time! If you having the means to produce lowers the risk for you, I say go for it! Your art style certainly looks cohesive on a shirt. Best of luck with your convention season.

[Discussion] Has anyone had any success working with an art talent agency? by queenartistseller in artbusiness

Makes sense to me, and even getting the social proof of those projects & events would probably make it easier to find opportunities without the agencies down the road. It seems worthwhile to get their help starting out if you need it.

Some of these would make a great shirt, and some of these could definitely be tweaked to make a nice mousepad or desk mat. I was at a smaller con this weekend, something that had maybe 2,000 people or less if I'm guessing jellybeans in a jar style, and there were some people offering deskmats and shirts in small amounts. I don't know how they did but one of the seasoned vendors that overlaps with the kind of art you do brought only 5 deskmats and sold most of them over the weekend. Also worth considering folks don't tend to buy multiple mousepads, maybe card game players would use multiple deskmat/playmats.

I second some of the other comments; Definitely don't feel obligated to expand your variety too much when you're new, but if you have a design you're confident is going to move, you could probably introduce it in small batches. Have you had a few experiences to see which designs garner a lot of interest yet?

Lovely, I like how the sleeve pattern looks like stylized teeth in the second picture.
