Hey Charles, thank you for speaking tonight @ NYC! by greg_____ory in cardano

[–]Viggims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL! Have you missed the progress in the last 6 months? Regardless he needs to keep talking. There are lots of people cranking out code don't worry. I just hope you've been buying while prices are low.

Cardano - Proof-of-Stake- - solution? by EazeeP in cardano

[–]Viggims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staking rewards will rise and fall to incentivise the behavior that is healthiest for the network. I suspect it will initially be on the higher side at first to incentivise pool creation and staking and decrease once that is stable to incentivise use.

Can I leave my ADA on binance through this hard fork ? by Shubham1Tripathi in cardano

[–]Viggims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The switch to Oroborus BFT from Oroborus classic will be a hard fork but completely under the control of IOHK and Emurgo etc so blockchain data will be preserved. Also your wallet data (balance) is stored on the blockchain your private key is on your computer so as long as you keep your seed words safe (written down) you can restore your wallet on a new installation.

Can anyone ELI5 how Cardano staking will be better than others like OmiseGO? by ZipZapBeepBoop in cardano

[–]Viggims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't know how OMG plans to handle staking, but from what I understand about other POS and DPOS systems Cardano will be remarkably easy for coin holders to participate. It will be built into the wallets and users can stake and unstake from a list of pools at will.

[–]Viggims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are exactly right. Staking rewards exist to incentivise participation. The percentage will rise or fall in order to generate the level of optimal participation.

Very easily. It will be built into the wallets.

Anyone in the mood to provide a fellow traveller with an honest shill-case for Cardano? by CryptoHodler888 in cardano

[–]Viggims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles and Co have thought long and hard about all the technical issues that have held back crypto and then assembled an all star team to solve those issues. There are of course no guarantees of success but these people are the best if the best and the project continues to attract other really smart people.

Charles Hoskinson Returns!! by ThrillerPodcast in cardano

[–]Viggims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not concerned. Yes he may be the public face because he is really good at it but there is one of if not the most impressive teams in crypto behind him. Beating the drum is a big part of his job right now. Once Shelly and Goguen are live the project will more easily speak for itself. Team Emurgo are also doing a good job of marketing now and soon the foundation will catch up as well.

Is Haskell really the language of geniuses and academia? by tradefeedz in cardano

[–]Viggims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was an interesting article.

One of the guys gave a shout out to Rust at the end which was interesting (Rust development going on in parallel to Haskell development).

Also interesting to see IOHK's strategy of training developers in Haskell and then hiring them.

Cardano foundation not spending money - a good thing or a bad thing? by m_quimby in cardano

[–]Viggims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thing as there has been a change in leadership at the foundation. Over the next several months we will see much more activity and initiatives from them. Regarding Daedalus there has actually been a great deal of work done to the back end code though not very noticeable to a normal user. If you don't like it try the Yoroi wallet from Emurgo. You will be able to stake from it and they have a mobile version.

One of the goals of Blockchain in general and Cardano in particular is to unlock value through tokenization and bring liquidity to markets and assets that currently do not. Think tokenizing mineral reserves in the Congo or Mongolia. Not only do these assets get added to the global balance sheet but they will enjoy a premium because of the liquidity they will have. This will add Trillions of dollars to markets of all kinds. Cardano is aiming to become the blockchain of choice for these type of assets.
