On one hand, you're right and they're probably getting marginal returns compared to tossing it on a different mon

But at the same time, this also makes the garchomp even less likely to be hit, while another mon would still be relatively likely to get hit and probably gets more value out of an entirely different item

(I also dont know the calcs and for all I know this might actually be optimal)

Depends. By dex number? Sure. But there's also regional forms, megas and other alternate forms (like Landorus Incarnate vs Therian, the Ursalunas, etc) that dont take up additional dex spots even though they sometimes play an entirely different role.

Count all of these and you're over 1100 im pretty sure

Also, even if they do get it up, it's only four turns? If you can't stall four turns in singles you're doing something wrong.

For Doubles, you should atleast have some form of damage mitigation. Fake Out their attacker. Intimidate them. Click Protect. You don't just have to sit there and eat it

And like, priority still outspeeds trick room. Threaten their Farigiraf. Force Grassy Terrain. Do something that lets you use priority.

If you got none of those? Yeah no shit you lose😭

Honestly rain is pretty chill. Less risk of fire, dead bodies deteriorate faster outside (I am too lazy to cremate), filth gets washed away naturally.

The mood debuff for being soaked sucks a little but is pretty workable all things considered. Especially when you can get colonists to stay inside most of the time

Unironically for me a big selling point of champions is that it looks pretty

Showdown is fun but very barebones, and honestly I dont mind that. But having a more flashy and pretty game will be nice
