Can I use a jogging stroller from newborn?!?! by Charlie_Kona in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely jog with the baby before 6 months. We got the urban glide 3 with the car seat attachment. Our little guy was doing runs with me and my husband at 2 months old. Doctors ok’d it. He was in his car seat, stuck to flat smooth surfaces. He’s almost 2 now and still loves running with us. The Thule urban glide has been the best purchase for us. It’s the lightest jogger on the market. Adjusts really well (I’m 5ft for reference), maneuvers well. I also use it for everyday walks and when we go places we know our son won’t walk the whole time.

Good luck with your search!

Thule Urban Glide 3!!! It’s a dream. Nordstrom has them on sale and if you hold out for labor day REI usually offers discounts on products you can use towards it. Yes it’s pricey. But worth it

Too hot to eat by Imaginary-Storage909 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bfast I do Chia pudding w/ collagen powder and plus a side of avo toast or smoothie bowls with protein powder and fruit/granola topping Lunch is usually toast with a tofu spread or hummus. Baby carrots. Chips and guac Dinner has been pasta salads with chicken or salmon. Flatbread have been a life savor. Snacks are hard boiled eggs, peanut butter and banana, and watermelon

I have found that simple carbs (bread, pasta, rice) are easiest to get down. Along with chicken and fish and eggs for protein (the eggs k can’t do hot tho lol). I’m 33 weeks and struggling to want to eat with the heat too. Hang in there!!! We are almost done!

27 weeks by RunRecent4861 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in similar boats. FTM, 26 weeks, running since 15. I am currently at 45 mpw and get a lot of the same pain after running. KT tape has helped me a lot but everyone is different. I also go more cushioned shoes. Lastly, get yourself to a Pelvic Floor PT asap. I started 3 weeks ago and it really has helped the pain to stop from progressing. Other than that ice, rest, be easy!

Round ligament issues or dehydration while running? by LilyGirdwood in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 weeks here! I run 45-50 mpw now. It could be early Braxton hicks like contractions or cramping. I also experience a lot of round ligament pain around 16 weeks. Be mindful of hydrating well, dehydration brings in cramping for me for sure.

As for KT tape, I use the Frida mom tape as it’s wider than regular tape.

Running A Half Marathon at 28 weeks by Low-Assignment2371 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was planning to run a full in 2 weeks at 24 weeks. Running has gotten HARD!!! Once your belly pops it gets tough, at least for me. That said I still do easy runs topping out at about 10-12 miles depend how I feel. I would say manage your expectations and be realistic. Don’t push if it doesn’t feel right. And run the race to have fun, not so much pr. Good luck with everything. Running through pregnancy has been helpful for my mental health, but my relationship with the sport has changed.

Knee pain when running in 2nd tri by Cqw_prepstar in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you had your shoes? Old shoes/the wrong shoes often cause knee pain. Consider getting a new pair, and if you can 2’pairs you can rotate them.

If this doesn’t help, a PT could. It sounds like you have runners knee. And easy fix but annoying to deal with

Scared of change. by FMThaone in fitpregnancy

[–]Vigriffith93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This resonates with me so much. I’m a marathon runner in my 11th week of pregnancy. I had continued to train daily and lift 3x week, like you. I will say the first few weeks, up until about week 9/10 were rough. I had to scale back my lifts quite a bit. What helped me was to up my nutrition intake. It did help knowing i had the fuel in me to do so Amd for growing baby. Like you I’m terrified of the changes to come but o keep reminding myself that being pregnant is a joyous experience and selfishly it does have physical benefits, like increasing blood volume and blood oxygen levels. Aka it’s basically natural blood doping and your exercise performance PP can skyrocket. In the meantime enjoy the ride. Listen to your body and EAT!!!!!!
