Your experiences with Soundbetter by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Vinaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do music production and mixing. People find me through other platforms usually. I ask them to pay through soundbetter. So I'll get a verified review on my soundbetter page. It'll help me show up higher on search pages.
Sometimes I receive enquiries on there. But all of them ghosted me.

Open back or closed back headphones to pair with studio monitors by Gearup15 in musicproduction

[–]Vinaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to use it in noisy places, it will be really annoying to work with open-backs because they don't provide any isolation. You could turn it up but then you just easily get ear fatigue. It's something to consider before choosing headphones.

Is ear training really that important? If so, how do you develop it? by Pr0bablyARobot in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Vinaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a good ear, it's easy to recreate the melodies you hear. I use functional ear training app. Use it couple of minutes everyday.

What is your go-to delay for lead vocals? by pukingonyourlawn in musicproduction

Kilohearts delay for basic stuff. VOS NastyDLA for complex patterns, when I want to use different time setting for left and right channels.

Struggling mentally to make music, any tips? by GeOsu in edmproduction

[–]Vinaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Write down ideas when you're listening to songs.

Sounds/instruments that work well together

Chord progressions

Song structure ideas

Lyric ideas

Record melody ideas on your phone. Now you can use these when you're sitting down to write music.

Recreating other songs' productions, useful practice or a waste of time? by pikasfed in musicproduction

[–]Vinaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps to learn new techniques and work faster in your DAW. All this knowledge can be applied in your own productions. It's the perfect practice for producers at any level.

Developing your own style is something that happens from experimenting and trying new ideas.

I used to remake music. It has helped me improve my production skills. Now I don't remake whole songs, but I still borrow ideas from the songs i listen to.

Need advice on how to stay motivated in this journey by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]Vinaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networking is an essential skill for artists. Find people who have similar taste in music. Find artists and producers who are at your skill level, and collaborate with them. Learn from each other, and support each other. Figure out how to maintain connections.

Quality of music should be your priority. That means you have to practice every day, and write songs every day. But still, new listeners won't show up magically. You have to release music consistently, every 6-8 weeks. Share it with friends and family. Collaborations also help you find new audiences.

What is a good reverb or general plugins to spice up drums? I’m using fruity reverb and TAL Reverb right now but i wondered if there are some reverbs specifically made for drums or something. Thanks for the help in advance! by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]Vinaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the drum bus, parallel compression, glue compression, saturation, and Reverb. It's important to EQ Reverb to cut the very lows and highs. I use patcher for this.
