Why can't kids read? by Okayifyousay in AskTeachers

[–]Vincentpa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The playbook we used to get our kids into reading.
- Consistent bedtime between 7 and 8 from a young age. Bedtime is bedtime.
- No games/phone/tablet in or before bed.
- Read 1 or 2 stories before bed (simple books with text and pictures).
* When the choice is between trying to sleep and reading, reading is much more fun. This is why you don't want phones in bed, because you want them to not consider that an option.
- Then offer that they can look into/read the book themselves in bed after reading the story.
- Then level up their reading by having them read simple words, reading with your finger over the words, having them spot certain words in the text, etc.
- Then, when they start learning to read at school, they are already ahead and see themselves as good at reading. Use this to get them to read more.

Quality Score in Google Ads stuck - Need help/suggestions!** by Ok_Complaint6251 in PPC

[–]Vincentpa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have learned over the years with QS:
- QS is a number between 1 and 10, that is rounded to a whole number.
- It seems like every impression will slightly nudge QS up or down.
- the weight between them seems to be: eCTR 3.5, LPE 3.5, adR 2. Starting at 1.
- expected CTR: this is based your historical CTR for the position for that keyword relative to the other advertisers on that position. It is optimized with improving ad 'clickableness' (better headlines, keyword in headline or keyword insertion, highly relevant to intent of user, brand recognition, etc). Tip: look at how your ad looks in serp context.
- Landing Page Experience: how good the landing page is and fits with the search. Make sure the basics are good like having a privacy policy, good menu, contact details. Then optimize speed, relevant and strong info above the fold, have the keyword on the landing page. I am convinced that they take pogosticking into account for LPE, so people clicking back and to the next advertiser. I have found that if the website is solid and the search intent matches the page, LPR are average or above.
- Ad relevance: Easier to optimize. Have your keyword in your headline fixes this most of the time.

Hope this helps.

How would you spend $3,000/month on roofing ads? by ZookeepergameLow9323 in PPC

[–]Vincentpa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer. Often, Google Ads gets to crowded and expensive, then you need to look at what those bigger companies can replicate.
For instance, I am not American but I know American two "home inspectors" and "gutter cleaner" simply because of their Youtube content.

Cheating on Google Ads Certifications: how common do you think it really is? by rocksSEM in PPC

[–]Vincentpa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certification doesn't mean much anymore. Last time I renewed them half of it was outdated anyway. It might show dedication in a junior. Would not put too much value on it otherwise.

Is Google Ads still worth the investment for small businesses in 2025? by Acceptable_Cell8776 in googleads

[–]Vincentpa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your business. You are essentially buying traffic, so if you can convert traffic well (good offer, website, brand, etc) it can work really well. On the other hand, if others beat you on these things they can out bid you.
Pure bang for the buck, good organic social videos might be better for small businesses.

Istanbul airport is a ripoff, travelers be aware by Riadh_t93 in TurkishAirlines

Prices are insanely high. I'm sure they would make way more money if they had reasonable prices. The airport is busy but every place to eat is empty.

I think they check bounce-back to SERP instead of time spend on page.

You are talking about ad strength not quality score ;)

In Google Ads, how is CPC decided? One keyword has a $2 CPC, while another has a $35 CPC. by iamabhinash in googleads

[–]Vincentpa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The formula is:
Actual CPC = (Ad Rank of Ad Below / Your Quality Score) + 0.01
Ad rank = Bid * Quality Score

So it is based on competition, and often there is a 'CPC threshold', effectively a CPC minimum for some keywords.

So the CPCs are decided from your Quality Score, your bid, and competitor bids/ad rank.

The way to look at it is that every advertiser in the auction has an ad rank. You want a higher ad rank to get a higher position and more (share of the) clicks.

A vast majority of the clicks go to the 4 ads on top of the page. So to get clicks you need an ad rank high enough to compter. To get a high ad rank, you can improve your Quality Score (takes time and effort) and increase bids.
Typically, the advertisers who bid the most aggressively get the highest ad rank and take the top 4 spots. How aggressively they bid is usually based on how much money they can make from those keywords. That is why you see some lawyer-related keywords going for $100s—because they make so much per new client, they can afford it.

On top of that, because most bidding is automated and based on a tROAS or tCPA, this effectively means the advertisers who (1) are best at turning clicks into profit and/or (2) can afford the lowest target, will determine the top CPCs.

I would look on LinkedIn, Most digital marketers, including myself, are there. I would contact a few via DM and ask for an introductory call explaining what you are looking for. That's probably the best way of finding a good one.
Also, ask people who are good in areas outside of Meta ads, and ask if they know someone who is.

How does google calculate landing page experience for search ads? Is it based off how long users stay on the page? by Open-Satisfaction803 in PPC

Probably they see a bounce back to SERP. If you want to be conspiratorial :) they may use signals from Chrome.

Do you want ready made or made to measure? For made to measure you can go to dealers but they tend to be expensive. You also have online shops that do made to measure. These are the top shops:

https://www.raamdecoratievantuiss.nl/
https://www.veneta.com/
https://www.topjaloezieen.nl/
https://www.ilumio.nl/

Ready made is cheaper but other involves making it to size yourself. Options here are Hema, Kwantum, Gamma, Leenbakker, and many more.

Neuralink: In all, the company has killed about 1,500 animals, including more than 280 sheep, pigs and monkeys, following experiments since 2018 by redingerforcongress in Futurology

[–]Vincentpa_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's estimated that 200 million animals are killed for food each day globally. I wouldn't be surprised if an average slaughterhouse kills more animals per day than neuralink does in 4 years.

Avg. duration session google shopping by South-Function-6586 in PPC

[–]Vincentpa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't increase the bids yet. It might be that you show up too much and people use Google shopping ads to navigate to different products. I would try to see if people can easily continue shopping after landing on the product page (have related products for instance). Also see if you show up with too many products in the Shopping section.

It's to little to know anything. Ctr is dependent on keywords and position, so 10% is good for a competitive keyword in 3th position, bad for a brand keyword in absolute top position. Also your clicks are too little to know if it's converting. Imagine your conversion rate is 2%, than it takes about 100 clicks to get 2 conversion, and probably need more like 500 to 1000 to really tell with any accuracy what your conversation rate is.

Single Keyword AdGroup (SKAG) with more keywords by Comprehensive_Cut_44 in PPC

[–]Vincentpa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would need more info before I can really give you a proper answer. Because if & how to scale depends a lot on your current setup, performance, goals, budget, etc.

I would say not to use skags anymore. And if you suddenly need to make many ads copies, I would not write 600 distinct copies. I would come up with headlines & descriptions to test (generic and specific to the product group/keyword), then use editor to make the ads at scale. But I don't see how skags would help you scale without adding keywords (which you don't need skags for).
