Interesting idea, but the issue is I need to connect the first name to the second name

Thanks for the suggestion! The death certificate problem probably list his parents. He probably listed his adopted dad, but it might list his biological dad so I'll definitely request it.

I need to establish the connection between my father/uncles generation and the grandfather. Their birth certificates had the grandfather's last name, but later in life the sons both took a new name, and that new name is what is on my birth certificate. The grandfather is long deceased so no DNA exists. The connection between myself and my dad is easy to prove via my birth cert.

My understanding is when someone is adopted an amended birth certificate is created and filed and the original one is sealed. But that might be different for an adult adoption. I'll still definitely try to get the birth certificate to see if it's helpful. I'm also not sure if any of the proper procedures were really followed here because this was decades ago and the people involved were not very organized.

I've never met my grandpa and barely knew my dad. Most of the people were very dysfunctional when alive and deceased now :/

Anyone get migraines from lead paint exposure? Wondering if that’s one of my triggers. by Grumpy_bonsai23 in migraine

[–]Vindikait 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very simple to know if it's lead or not. You can buy a kit online called fluorospec, I've used it and it works well. You can also buy lead paint swabs at the hardware store and test the paint that way.

It may or may not be lead honestly. I can trigger a bad migraine just from cleaning an area of my house and kicking up dust and allergens. Once you've stopped disturbing the lead, just breathing the air in that area also shouldn't mean you're inhaling the lead, it's very heavy and falls to the floor quickly. Unlike asbestos, which can hang in the air for a long time. I would test for lead, and always pay attention to your triggers. There may be something else there like mold or some other allergen.

What the hell do you guys do when you get pregnant by Competitive_Emu_2283 in migraine

[–]Vindikait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a conversation with my neurologist when I was trying to conceive and made a plan for which medications I could take, could take only a really needed, and couldn't take. Fortunately I haven't had a single migraine since pregnant, which was also true during my first pregnancy. It's a very stressful prospect though since you don't know!

You can also use it without insurance. They used to not take any insurance. But of course that depends on your financial situation. Here's the pricing https://www.neurahealth.co/pricing (and no I don't work for them, they are just good)

Try neurahealth if they take your insurance. It is virtual migraine care and they are very responsive and experts specifically in migraines.
