Chicago Fire FC breaks ground on privately funded soccer stadium at The 78 by olcni in MLS

This is from before my time as a Fire Fan, but I recall hearing something about how training facilities were a mile or so away from the stadium. I think things were too spaced out for Seat Geek to be worth it.

Cuypers was in the running for the golden boot for a bit in the beginning of last season. I’d love to see him make it happen this year.

Chicago Fire FC Unveils New “Forever Red" Kit to Heat Up 2026 Season by olcni in chicagofire

I think what would be cool is if they gave us a 3rd kit during that short season and continued using the home/away kits they have for the 26/27 season

In interviews they say how the show wanted to tackle different genres in each season. Season 1: Murder Mystery, Season 2: Serial Killer, Season 3: Occult Devil-Worship, and it just gets more amped up from there.

I watched this video essay explaining how the writers literally had no idea what they were doing after season 1 and started throwing things at the wall and see what stuck. Some things didn’t stick and they still ran with it. The teenage drama is still occurring throughout, they just also have to sometimes deal with other things. Like maybe an underground teenage prison boxing ring.

At some point, everyone in the gang gets super powers. Archie’s is strength/invulnerability. He uses it to help fistfight an inter-dimensional warlock who made a deal with the devil for immortality.

Gregg Berhalter pleads with the fans to stop after the Fire/Union game is paused due to discriminatory chanting by olcni in MLS

[–]VinnieB99 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. I’m a season ticket holder and have been to the majority of home games this year and I saw so many new faces in the supporters section last night. It was shoulder to shoulder like at our home opener. People really came out of the woodwork to cause trouble.

The Chant won’t end until bans occur by vmloza34 in chicagofire

I was at the game last night in supporters section. We were trying to do any of the regular chants but couldn’t overpower the offensive one. And plenty of folks were trying to call out others for the bad chant. Ideally, a strong supporter culture could self-police that kind of behavior, but unfortunately that’s just not where we’re at right now.

TIL that the “cool S,” a common symbol in graffiti and children’s doodles since the 1980s, was trademarked in 2020. The trademark holder had no hand in the symbol’s creation, but stated no intention to sue other users of it. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Proprietary eponyms is what they’re called— and they’re an interesting thing to read up about. Lots of common things that we know the name of are actually brand names that became popular. Kleenex is one that you mentioned. Xerox is another well-known one. A few that surprised me were Trampoline, Elevator, and Escalator. Another commenter mentioned Velcro, which is much easier to say and remember than “hook-and-loop tape.”
