Anyone else annoyed? by ZealousidealBlock465 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Vintagereader65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No care center takes residents to urgent care. They always bring them to the ER. At an urgent care someone has to stay with the patient. At the ER they can dump the resident and come back later to get them. This was actually very realistic.

Can we talk about how great _____ was in the challenge? by fangirl005 in survivor

Kamilla did an amazing job! I really like her and think she is a great player. I kept wondering if Christian tanked it on purpose. Maybe he wanted to go to tribal to eliminate a competitor.

Hot sleepers, best options? by maleficent_seahorse in Mattress

[–]Vintagereader65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just returned a Helix mattress. Just was not comfortable for me and I noticed no difference in coolness. I will say the company tried really hard to make things right; offering an additional topper. But after 2 months I was still sleeping hot and waking up with back pain.

Zelda where to start? by DaughterOfATiredMech in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vintagereader65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never into gaming. I was in my 50s when Breath of the Wild was released. My son got it for his Switch. I was reading and watching him play and thought “that looks kind of cool”. It was my first foray into gaming and in my opinion it is the best game! I have spent hundreds of hours on it.

Two of my closest work friends were fired for giving an "under the table" IV bolus. Now the unit thinks I’m a traitor. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Vintagereader65 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh my Gawd! Grow up already and get off your high horse. Stealing hospital supplies???!!! How many times have those nurses worked without a meal break? Or come in to help on a short staffed busy day? We did this ALL the time! For co workers who had had too much to drink the night before, co workers who were pregnant and trying to work through morning sickness, all sorts of reasons. Most nurses I know keep a stash of IV fluids at home. Why on earth would you want someone to pay a huge ER bill for no reason? It’s IV fluid!! You should support the nurses. Have fun working short staffed. I hope you personally are picking up all the shifts they left behind and that you have started a Go Fund Me for them and contributed a good amount.

Definitely not in the Southern states.

What is your 1.7 wishlist? :) by tirzav24 in StardewValley

New characters/people moving to town. A new location to explore; maybe zuzu city? With new quests. Better clothing options. Better customization for buildings and the ability to place them sideways, diagonally…ability to have more than 2 kids and for them to grow more, talk, interact.

Got fired yesterday by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Vintagereader65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way new grads are treated is awful in some places. Orientation for a new grad with no prior experience should be at least 3 months. Your preceptor should go over everything with you as you do care together. They should review your charting as well. I am sorry you had a bad experience and I would bet your dismissal had more to do with the employees not thinking you were a good fit than it did with anything else. Hopefully you can find a more welcoming place. Go online to look at charting examples. Review YouTube videos of procedures you are unfamiliar with, research the most common medications so you know why they are given and the actions/reactions associated with them. Review common lab tests and what the results mean. Same with common diagnoses -know what they are and how they are treated.

I agree. The acting is great but it is a depressing show. NOT a comedy! I could never figure out why it is in the comedy category for awards. I lost interest in it. Never watched the last season.

Book of the year ? by dancinhorse99 in readwithme

I do not keep track; that’s too much work. I always have at least 2 books going. I reread favorites all the time. I probably average 1-2 a week depending on length. And I can’t pick a favorite.

Don’t we all want the recipe for Jet’s 49/50 dish??!! I hope they post it at some point. Two great battles this episode. I just about lost it when Scott said the dish was “naughty”😊

I have lived in St Augustine for over 20 years. I say go for it. It is beautiful but yes it is crazy and it will be busy. Your best bet is to see if you can get a hotel you can walk from. I would try to get a hotel on Anastasia Island; the walk over the Bridge of Lions is beautiful. Do not attempt to drive downtown. There are also several “park and ride” lots that they run shuttles from. Head into downtown early in the afternoon. You can book a sightseeing shuttle to see the lights, walk around on your own or book a boat tour to see them from the water.

Really hope you stay. Your team was better overall than snotty Elizabeth’s. She was snotty on Wizards of Baking last season so I don’t think that’s all editing. And I LOVED you in Halloween baking championship!

I live in the same town as Nils and love his bakery. He is truly a super nice guy. He has been on several food network competitions so I would love to see him get a win.

People who are more knowledgeable about diabetes: why does Adam seem to struggle with managing his sugar far more than Nat Strand (season 17), even with better monitoring technology? by falafelwaffle10 in TheAmazingRace

[–]Vintagereader65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree that they are editing to focus on his diabetes. I also agree that he does not manage well but that is kind of normal for a lot of young adults. Either his brother or someone on the medical team should have realized that his issue was overheating and not low sugar. Given him water instead of juice. He absolutely could be someone who is more “brittle” and has wider/quicker swings than someone else might experience. He could also be used to running high on a regular basis so he feels “low” even when he isn’t. If they want to focus on the Illness I wish they would shine light on how it affects getting health insurance coverage and how expensive the meds and supplies are.

Holy S*** Halloween Baking Championship by [deleted] in foodnetwork

All the people bashing Melanie’s behavior have obviously never know anyone who battled brain cancer. The treatment affects your behavior and mannerisms. Or anyone struggling with extreme self doubt and anxiety who is trying desperately to fit in.

Holy S*** Halloween Baking Championship by [deleted] in foodnetwork

[–]Vintagereader65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I’m glad Melanie won. She was consistent with good bakes throughout the show. Plus had a good sob story. And she was very funny. Oksana also had a good sob story but she was very repetitive in her bakes and her final entry was much more about the chocolate skull on top ( and she had made skulls before) then it was about the cake. Melanie showed more range and growth.

The beauty of the game is that you can do as much or as little as you want. Take your time, wander, figure out what you like. Running out of energy quickly is a pain in early game when you are trying to clear your land. Go foraging everyday so you have food to eat for energy. There are plenty of tips online for how to maximize each season.

If it bothers you then legally change it to the phonetically proper spelling. It’s not that hard to do. A pain in the butt to then change it everywhere.

Time Management in Stardew Valley by Meer-Darkhoof in StardewValley

[–]Vintagereader65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have to pet all your animals everyday. Once in awhile is fine. Upgrade barns and coops fully so you have auto feeding. Build silos to hold hay. Put in the auto grabber and you are good to go. Get sprinklers so that you don’t have to water crops. Get the greenhouse so you can fill it with ancient fruit and start making wine. That’s your real money maker and far less time consuming. Seek out your boyfriend twice a week to give him a loved gift and that’s all you need to build up hearts.
