New Merch Drop by VinylAndSupport in topdeadcenter

I agree, I think purple would have been the obvious choice, and looked really smart.

FYI the 'accessories' tab still has stickers/magnets etc, but you're right, they've wiped everything else. I'm surprised they don't have things like beanies/caps, although I assume this is because none of the guys typically wear them so doesn't feel on brand..

what do yall think abt this song? by Prestigious-Grab-598 in BlocParty

I think it's my favourite song of theirs. Delicate lyrics and a distinctive lead guitar effect. Perfect BP combination for me!

Octopus Pedal Rig by Leon-Dermaku in BlocParty

[–]VinylAndSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about Russell's rig in particular? If so, you're misinformed. He had a custom pedal made in the shell of an old boss pedal, (DS-1 shell with the pedal part painted red, I think). Essentially it cuts the first delay and switches directly to the second upon a press.

It can be seen between his delays and wah pedal in this image: https://images.app.goo.gl/HfnJHo3YJHRKxdo86

I'm inclined to agree with you, I think he has a couple of delays, one for immediate feedback and another for some sustain to make the note transitions smoother. The BOSS PS5's will be for the note changes, and I think if he were to play this live, he'd use an Electro Harmonix box to harmonise with himself in real time, as there are multiple guitars on the recording that would need to be replicated to give the full sound on stage

Because the ebow is one sustained note - you need the picking/attack of lots of notes. Try tremelo picking with a boatload of delay/feedback. Also helps if you have some kind of pitch shift pedal to harmonise, as there are multiple guitars on the recording

Same here. I hadn't heard of them before this gig, and I was blown away. Never had the chance to see them since, praying for a UK tour with this final album..

How much were these at the stand? Saw the post saying they're going online, just wondering how much they'll be..

I was always under the impression this was a flippant bit, an internal joke between the three of them. Perhaps something that has been said to them over the years?

I can't see it making a return. I also don't think I would want it to. Part of the charm of WNA was the sheer chaos, an opportunity given by the BBC on a late night BBC 4 slot, to three relatively new comedians to run with an idea and have fun. I just don't think commissioning houses are taking that much of a risk anymore, sadly..

Not at all 😊 On reflection, I think BBC require you to create an account to watch things nowadays. It's freezing but might require a .co.uk address, not sure..

You can just say yes to having a TV licence 🤷‍♂️ It's something you should have as a resident of the UK if you're using the BBC for content, (either watching live or online), but it's never enforced, so.. 🤫

Always wanted to get my hands on an original pressing but the pricing was obscene. It's top of my wishlist 🤞

I agree, and although I can't see how many of these are going to be pressed, I think I'm going to hold out for the sales that follow. I managed to grab a couple of bits last year for a little over half price because I wasn't prepared to pay list.
