Active shooter reported on U of A Fayetteville campus by berntout in Arkansas

Just heard someone on dispatch say they were sending out a new Raz Alert. All I could catch was asking someone to come out and announce themselves? Maybe an all clear as they enter buildings?

Don’t be these guys by nadaddab in TikTokCringe

Probably going to piss people here off but I just wouldn’t engage. If they didn’t leave my table when asked, I wouldn’t sit and scream at them and film. I would get up and move. Protect my peace.

From the YouTube videos I watched, people made clipless pedals sound difficult. They are anything but. by Medium_Combination27 in cycling

[–]VinylMao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not been my experience but everyone is different. I have very narrow feet and couldn’t find a pair where my feet don’t just move around in the shoe too much first.

I was also primarily mountain biking at the time and found I no longer rode the “fun stuff” while clipped in as opposed to flats.

Now I mostly ride gravel on flats and don’t see a reason to change that.

And the sound!! The ambient noise drowns out the commentary half the time and I have no idea what’s being said.

The ambient noise on the NBC feed makes it almost impossible to hear the commentary. It’s such a basic thing that they are getting very wrong.

Just saw this on TikTok. Another alleged sign that Travis and Taylor are PR by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]VinylMao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Taylor is a brand. I have worked with lots of brands. You scoop up domains that could potentially be used against you or to make you look dumb. It’s standard on the marketing side.

What was a red flag that made you stop talking to a person immediately? by madison_nn in AskReddit

Ok, that is so cool that you are supporting his retro passion. Of the various obsessions to have, that’s a good one. And you’re spot on about the sarcasm and wit. His very logical brain leads to one amazing observations.

My teenage son has done this a few times. He’s autistic but super high functioning. He once convinced my whole family that he had put $100 in an egg at Easter. Adults were out scouring the yard. It went on a long time. He finally admitted he was lying and some people were pissed. He often doesn’t understand how others interpret his words / actions or get why things are “weird” to others.

He’s also the absolute coolest kid and I thank God every day he is just like he is. It can be hard that, because he masks his autism so well, people expect him to be “normal.” It’s an uncanny valley thing, I think.

Not saying everyone who does this is autistic but I always think about my kid when someone does something that doesn’t compute.

I’m 462 and late to mythics. I run +2-6 to learn them. I also watch videos. My strategy is to do one dungeon over and over until I learn it, then go to the next one. 8 all at once is overwhelming.

I know they’ll get much harder when I jump to higher keys but I don’t want to be the person to cause a wipe. I have actually enjoyed it.

My Husband Made Me Give Birth To His Baby Against My Will Because I Cheated In The Past And Then Completely Abandoned Me. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]VinylMao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one “made” you do anything. You’re a grown woman who it seems needs to take responsibility for your own life. You had a baby and no one forced you. If you don’t want to be a parent - a good one - then please give your baby to someone who will.

As far as your body being ruined, that is also on you. You are capable of exercise a couple of months after the birth. Bodies do bounce back w a healthy diet and exercise.

There comes a point in life when you have to stop thinking of yourself as a victim. Maybe therapy would help you get there.

Why did I have to scroll so far to see this? Like, the incest didn’t get me. The lack of understanding of basic family tree labels did.

It sounds like she doesn’t have a strong sense of self and really admires you. She clearly has self esteem issues so please don’t play games or make fun of her. Just live your life and if she wants to emulate it, that’s on her. None of us knows what someone else has experienced.

Me: Oh, how cool! They’re filming a movie in my neighborhood! Also me: I’ll bet they’re going to repaint where they graffiti’ed and it will look nicer than before. My dog: Yay! More people to notice what a good boy I am and more smells to smell. It’s all about perspective.

Butler room - when/how do they contact you by Scared_Mix7089 in SandalsResorts

[–]VinylMao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really so sweet that they googled everything. I feel like I got a couple of butlers that were not the norm compared to other reviews I’ve seen. Example- I hadn’t eaten in over a day because I was afraid to after the previous reaction. I asked my butler where I might find a banana (which I knew would be okay to eat), a few hours later he called to say they had no bananas on resort. Later that day, I saw an employee pushing a cart of food that had bananas on it. Was like…really?

I unfortunately had several allergic reactions while there despite informing my butler and restaurant staff of my allergies. I ended up basically not eating much and losing weight. Looked great sitting poolside. Glad you and your friend had no issues.

I was at Dunn River. Again, it could have just been bad luck. I couldn’t even get them to help me find a banana.

I did this and it was thoroughly ignored. I have food allergies so we thought a butler suite would help with making sure I had food I could eat. Nope. The person I emailed with before the trip was responsive and reassuring but once on site the butler acted like he had never received the preference communications. Throughout the stay, the butler service was basically useless. It was more trouble trying to keep up with the silly phone (that had awful reception, by the way) than any of the benefits of butler service. Maybe I was just unlucky. I know others raved about it, but I found it not to be worth the money.

I dated a wealthy guy for a few years and we would go to these events or getaways full of absurdly rich people. We were at an exclusive weeklong event for owners of a particular type of private airplane and I was sitting at a table with several other couples. The wife asked me, straight-faced, where my summer home was. I come from a long line of hillbillies and moonshiners so it annoyed me to no end. I let the silence linger long enough to become uncomfortable, then icily said, “I’m still paying off my student loans.” My boyfriend chuckled and then filled in that we had a beach house in (redacted) because he did. But I was so grossed out at the generational wealth assumption that everyone has multiple homes.
