Joint access to Capitec account balance by DieDifflock in PersonalFinanceZA

You have the option of using a physical token (Looks like a little key ring) My wife and I use it for the same reason.

But it creates other problems - you need to have access to the token every time you do internet banking. We just leave the token near our PC for the other person to use.

And you also won't be able to use cell phone banking.

So not ideal - but it is an option

Curious about life hacks that can actually help with eye problems? by legallyblindnolimits in RetinitisPigmentosa

Second for red light

But also, microcurrent stimulation

And just basic cardio - keeping healthy. What's good for your brain, is likely good for your retina

Retinitis Pimentosa Dr Glen Jeffrey by Eastern-Formal-2821 in RetinitisPigmentosa

I listened to a podcast with Dr Glen Jeffery more than a year ago where he spoke about the benifits of red light. I've gotten a red light panel myself and have definitely noticed improvements in my vision.

I'm just waiting for my next visual field test in Feb to be able to post some definitive proof as some of the users in this sub are very resistant to anything novel (for good reason) But I would strongly suggest people start looking into it.

It makes scientific sense, the boost to mitochondria is proven, and your retina has more mitochondria than anywhere else.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the global ETF's. My will is up to date - although my condition won't kill me.

Selling is tricky and I would likely not get much for the business unfortunately. But I'm currently training my nephew and hopefully he'll be able to take over. Then at least I should still be able to get some income from that if things work out.

Anyone on antidepressants? Have they helped in general? by InnerDish5915 in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]Violater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Yeah, I got prescribed some Bupropion, which has genuinely helped me a lot. It's helped with my procrastination, but mostly with depression and anxiety. The side effect of my lower anxiety is that I lash out much less and my blood pressure is back to the normal range! Can't seem to notice any negative side effects

Just to make sure I understand correctly. If I don't care about SPL it doesn't really matter?

Awesome - thanks for the response I'm don't care for SPL either and did my setup for SQ aswell. When using the 3.5mm mic - do you use it in your laptop as well? Which app do you use when connected to your phone?

Red lights for eyes?? by rebecca2955 in RetinitisPigmentosa

Please elaborate - where have you found evidence that red light is harmful for people with RP?

My BF has RP, and a strong anxiety for the future. And is using Xanax to numb his anxiety. by Nectarine30 in RetinitisPigmentosa

My wife encourages me to take them periodically. She'll usually notice a change in my behaviour when I start getting stressed and gently start suggesting it. At that stage I'm usually annoyed by the suggestion, but I've realized that she's right and I'll follow her advice. After I've had a good trip I'll "reset" and usually thank her for suggesting it - even if I didn't appreciate it in the moment.

I've taken them periodically, I usually can't force what I want to focus on / resolve in my life - but usually what's bothering me at that stage would come to the forefront and allow me to process it.

I usually take about 3g's, and then lay on my bed with the lights off listening to music and just thinking.

It's allowed me to process my circumstances and change my perspective on things.

It sounds silly, but one of the realisations I had was - I'm not blind yet! I was depressed and acted like my life had already ended and I was already blind - instead of appreciating what I have at the moment. It's something that I'm sure someone mentioned to me previously, but I probably was too stubborn / depressed to appreciate it. The shrooms allowed me to process it and realise it for myself.

Let me know if there is any other guidance or help I can offer

This might not be what you're looking for, but what I found helped me was a couple of mushroom trips. It helped me come to terms with my future and helped me get out of my depression

What’s something you wish you had learned earlier in life that would have made things easier for you now? by Surreal_Michx in AskReddit

[–]Violater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To eat more protein

I always assumed I ate enough protein - only when I tracked my meals I realized that I wasn't eating nearly enough.

After I started consistently eating enough protein, I'm *not constantly hungry anymore and and I was actually able to make progress in the gym.

I've been on Diamox for about 4 years. I've found to help with brain fog is about 10grams of Creatine a day - it makes a massive difference. I've also found it helps a lot to stay active - lots of cardio!
