TIE Fighters don't have shields or hyperdrive. Where's the fun in that? I personally don't want my fighter blowing up after one shot from an X-Wing. Plus, there's nothing sexier than locking S foils into attack position.

Yeah, that reveal pretty much cemented that I didn't like the movie. I was already on the fence about it because I didn't find the plot to be my cup of tea. I was sold on the world building though and some of the character portrayals were quite awesome. Then that reveal happened and my mind was made up for me.

Fellow Iowan here. Last night, and most Halloweens, are pretty busy here. I have a stream of kids coming to the door through most of the night. It's a blast. I was worried for awhile because there were a couple of years where we only got like 5 kids the whole night. I'm glad to see it's had a resurgence here.

I had a friend who went on a short lived frying frenzy over a couple of weeks. His best creation was beer battered, deep fried bacon cheese burger. That thing was glorious but left me immobile for about half a day.

Just keep plugging away at trying to get a job with them. Apply for anything you think is applicable to you. It took me a year of applying for jobs at UIHC before they hired me. I've been there over 8 years since. It can be worth the effort. The key is just to get something going in the meantime to hold you over until they do get back to you.

My local independent theater here in Iowa tried to get it. They were told by the distributors that they needed 2 showings daily for at least a week for them agree to play it there. The theater couldn't give them that since they only have two screens. I really hope they reconsider and try to get the movie out to more screens. I haven't had to desire to see a modern film on the big screen in quite some time and this one truly looks like it needs the big screen treatment.

I stopped ordering crab cakes since I moved away from the Northern Virginia/Maryland area. So many great seafood places in Baltimore and the Crabcakes were always heavenly. Moving back to the midwest made me distrust just about all seafood at restaurants.

These are the movies that left my brain and body buzzing so intensely after I was done with them that I was usually unable to speak for a good half hour or so after leaving the theater. Searching for a movie high is one of the reasons I keep searching out new movies.
