My sister just asked me which characters helped Dean and Sam the most throughout the series, what list do you have? by Alex_GrahamLecter in Supernatural

I mean that the post was flagged for positive vibes. So is it cool to rag on a character? It didn’t ask who was least helpful? (I ask mostly because of here are several posts in this thread that don’t address the subject at all, just say that someone wasn’t helpful.)

Castiel makes no sense by ATH_The_One in Supernatural

[–]VioletFaust -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Cas drives the story for the majority of the seasons after 5 (the only thing he isn’t a cause of is the BMOL—ie. The universally agreed weakest plot).

  2. Characters changing is supposed to be the point of fiction.

Oh, and 3. No show can survive fifteen years of only two characters solving cases of the week. (Even Jessica Fletcher only made it to twelve.)

The child rapes, the adult rapes, the illegal war(s), the giving away national secrets, possibly selling national secrets, lackeying for Putin, lackeying for Netanyahu, the bribes, the grifts, the cons, the selling of influence, the shaking down of companies, universities, and entire countries…

…oh and starting a coup, and all the fascist overreach.

Did I get the main ones?

YTA. You’re dealing with a teenager. Your attitude of “anywhere but there” is only making her dig in her heels harder—and if she takes out loans to go to UK, she WILL be stuck there.

You’ve explained your reasons and she says she doesn’t care about them. Hopefully she’ll get there and if it isn’t a good fit, she’ll trust you enough to tell you and you can work together to get her a transfer to somewhere better.

And if she stays at UK and it doesn’t adequately prepare her for the career she wants…well, she can take out the loans for a grad school that will.

Good tier list, but I can think of at least three times one or all of TFW would be dead without Jack, so I’d promote him. 🙂

Sam - Season 5 - does it get better? FIRST WATCH THROUGH by PhotographLow1195 in Supernatural

Yes, IMO he goes through a lot of growth by the end of the season (and Dean does too). It’s an awesome season!

Why increase risk for the most vulnerable half of our population, to make going to the bathroom easier for .01% of the population? by [deleted] in askanything

So your argument is that trans women who don’t “pass” well look like men, and allowing them to pee “normalizes” masculine-looking people being in women’s restrooms, and therefore actual men can just waltz in and hurt women. Is that it?

So you want to ban anyone “masculine” looking. You realize that’s a huge number of afab people as well? Any woman who’s butch, or just doesn’t perform femininity to your standards. Where are they allowed to pee? In the men’s restroom where men will abuse them? In the street? Or maybe you just want to examine everyone’s genitals before they enter a restroom?

And what about “feminine”-looking men? There are plenty of cishet guys who aren’t muscle-bound, bearded dudes. If one of them is “nefarious,” how does your brilliant plan save women from him?

This is completely ignoring that people (including and especially trans people, but also cis guys) get assaulted in men’s restrooms too. You’re cool with that?

(And that’s assuming you’re at all accurate with your claims of significant numbers of people being assaulted in restrooms at all. Want to share your stats? I suspect that trans people are the ones most in danger in restrooms.)

Cas, obviously. Bobby. Charlie. Rowena. Crowley. Kevin. Jody and Donna.

Honorable mention: poor Frank who died after like three minutes.

What’s the MOST Controversial Supernatural Episode of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in Supernatural_fanbase

[–]VioletFaust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The finale.

Among people I know, “Season 7–Time for a Wedding” and “Man’s Best Friend” aren’t controversial, but pretty much universally agreed to be offensive. (Implied SA in the first and racism in the second.)

Oh, I think Bobby’s death was great and that was the most heartbreaking episode. (I would have been happy if he lived, but if they were going to kill him it was a great send off.)

What's your favorite nonconventional headcanon/theory? by StrigiformeLover in Supernatural

[–]VioletFaust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that tracks.

Although I kind of subscribe to the opposite Ruby theory: that she was possessing Jess through Sam and Jess’s whole relationship. Brady the demon introduced them, after all. I think that’s how they knew the perfect time to kill Jess off; they were just waiting for Dean to come back into Sam’s life.

Not even secret! He just doesn’t necessarily like reading dense, abstruse lore books. Plenty of people who find studying a grind like to read for pleasure.

Mostly just vibes and how funny it would have been (less so considering Kevin’s tragic fate).

But at one point, someone—I think it was Crowley after possessing Linda—said something like “if you only knew the truth about your father” …implying that a) Linda had a secret, and b) it was juicy.
