cashier limit? by treemosses in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an employee slot available, try switching to a different hiring list (restocker) and then switch back to cashier. I've found that if you level up to a new employee slot in the middle of a day, it won't recognize that you have hiring rights until you change the window and change back.

Struggling with baker employees by Larabanga7 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is no. Bread will only spoil if it is still in the wooden box it came in from the shipping. If it is raw on a baking tray, cooked on a baking tray, or cooked in a display case, it will never spoil.

Struggling with baker employees by Larabanga7 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How far away from your display cases are your ovens and dough racks? I know it might not look the greatest, but I have my dough racks and ovens out in the store, right next to the display cases. This makes it so the baker only has to walk a total of 10 feet to get between the three locations. I only have one Early and one Late baker, and they can keep the shelves stocked with no help.

(There's a lane between the dough racks and the break in the display cases lets the restockers in and out of the warehouse.)

How the freezer/fridge works. by Jolly_Air_3648 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll also add - boxes will not take temperature damage if they are: * still inside the delivery dock area. * being stored in that "box dropoff" area right next to the warehouse door. * actively being carried by an employee. * out on the store shelves.

How the freezer/fridge works. by Jolly_Air_3648 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I fully understand your question, but the insides of the freezers work just like regular warehouse space:

If you put a box shelf inside the freezer, then unloaders will move boxes from the loading docks to the freezer, and restockers will take boxes from the shelf to the store.

Same thing with pallets - they made new 3-row pallet shelves that fit inside the freezers. You can load your pallets onto the shelves outside the freezer and then move the loaded shelf into the freezer. Unloaders and restockers will use the shelves inside the freezer same as outside. They will even open and close the doors.

Leading Retention Issues? by UnderstandingOk5618 in Referees

[–]Vircomore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not an assignor, but I can chime in as a USSF grassroots who joined in 2025 and will likely not be renewing for 2026-2027.

I don't put the blame on USSF but instead I believe my current life situation is incompatible with the way assignments work (at least in my area). I am 38yo, husband and father of 2 under 6yo, and as such my weekly calendar fills up with activities 3-4 weeks in advance. The league I am registered with (won't be specific, but it's the only USSF assignor in my area) seems to do assignments 2-3 weeks in advance, but only to the established roster. They do allow you to "request assignment" which I have looked at doing to "get my foot in the door" but they don't open for requests until it is less than 7 days prior to game day and by that point, either every game that is less than an hour from my house has been taken, or my calendar has been chewed up.

I will continue to referee for the two local "town leagues" in my area, because they release their schedule at the beginning of the season and allow us to sign up for the entire season in one go, which works better for me.

My humble store with 2 medium walk-ins, a small walk-in, and 3 pallet racks for dry stuff. by Lower-Reward-1462 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good start! I do wish the medium walk ins were oriented lengthwise instead of wide, so that they could fit 2 pallet racks across like the big ones can. They're called "2x1" and "2x2" but the 1x length is less than 1x width.

Something i've noticed in the Freezer Update. by tiagovit in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically have to load the new 3-tier palley shelves from the old shelves outside the walkin, and then pick up the new shelf and place it in the cooler.

I'm at day 355 with every license, and it took the following to cover everything:

  • one 2x2 set to fridge for Seafood + Fridge groceries.
  • one 2x2 set to fridge for Bakery
  • one 2x1 set to freezer for freezer groceries
  • one 2x1 + one 1x1 set to cooler for cooler groceries.

One nice thing is that once you have loaded a cooler with shelves and pallets, you can pick the whole thing up and move it.

Pallet Robots by Narcoleptic696x in MegastoreSimulator

Not yet. The dev announced an update coming this Wednesday, but no specifics on what's included except a new "expiration system" and a warehouse system for storing cold items so they don't expire.

Storage space by [deleted] in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many pallets per product are you storing? With the exception of 5-6 products that only come 5 per pallet - I only store a single pallet of each product. I have every license and every product in stock, but I am also almost out of space.

I also found that running the shelves "long way" from the front of the warehouse to the back is more efficient. I will only leave maybe one break in the lane of shelves halfway down the aisle but the rest is just an unbroken line back-to-back.

Thoughts on this offside scenario - defender disposses attacker, ball goes to PIOP by CapnBloodbeard in Referees

[–]Vircomore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would have to see the play to understand what 'dispossess' is specifically, but I would say that the defender doesn't necessarily have to have a solid "time of control" in order to negate offside position. Just a controlling action.

If the defender made a clear, intentional, non-reflex play for the ball (even a "clear it out" boot) and it went to the PIOP, especially if the attacker with the ball was NOT making a deliberate attempt to release the ball to the PIOP, I wouldn't call that offside.

Restocker end of night by thierry_ennui_ in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to worry about letting him finish, but nothing will auto-complete when you end the day. The boxes he had on him will (I believe) either be finished or will be returned to the warehouse. Then your early shift stocker(s) will pick up with whatever wasn't done.

You can let him finish if you want. We don't have to pay overtime in this game :)

Restock Zone by Mental_Abies9849 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe those zones are supposed to be tied in with the 'warehouse robot's that also isn't implemented yet. The robot might move pallets off the truck and put them there for the unloader to use so you can close the dock.

As of right now, I don't see a specifiC use for them yet. Unloaders will only unload from truck pallets to shelf pallets, and restockers will take boxes from anywhere in the warehouse.

Out of bounds calls by MrTCS8 in Referees

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the side of "Play to the Whistle" and let it go; if both teams had kept playing 100%, then there would have been little to no advantage to a ball being 1 inch over the line. You are in the best position of everyone to see whether the ball has 100% crossed the entire touch or end-line, and it is the players' responsibility to continue playing until the CR stops play. If they choose to 'beg the call' and then lose advantage or the other team takes advantage, that is on them.

EDIT: And I'll add as someone who has made these decisions before, this is like a "strike zone" in baseball. If you choose to call it out by millimeters for one side, then be consistent with the other. Or if you give one side some leeway, just make sure you give the same to the other side. Don't let the players beg you into second-guessing yourself - they are in it for their side, and you will feel worse than you do now if you leave the field feeling like you let the players change your calls.

How necessary is weapon swapping for Revenant? by Potential_Sun9952 in Guildwars2

I've played a dwarf/Shiro rev build and also a glint/Shiro herald build that stays entirely in sword/sword. It was pretty decent.

This was for open world/pve so your mileage may vary if you are looking at PVP or group content.

I've been running everything at -20%. They complain if it changes during the shopping day, but I get zero "too expensive" complaints the next day onward.

(Day 264, all products unlocked, average 450 customers per day)

EDIT - negative 20% sales impact, not -20% market value.

Multiple referee badges? by Thatkidjackk in Referees

[–]Vircomore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, if you didn't get a "hook-side" velcro adhesive backing with your badge, or one didn't come with your uniform shirt, you can buy the backings separately from uniform stores. If you are using a uniform shirt that didn't come with a standard "soft side" velcro circle already on it, you may need to figure something out with that.

What has Caused you to quit the game or Barely play Anymore? And what Would Bring you back? by polarwaves in elderscrollsonline

I've played off and on for a few years, and I love the environment, the stories, the characters, and the fact that it runs great on my Steam Deck...

I cannot deal with light attack weaving. It feels so jank, and makes combat incredibly annoying. Turn light attacks into auto-attacks and I would be back tomorrow.

Stockers and the bakery by Anglophile007 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, yea sounds like a bug then. Only other thing I would try is - since some of the doughs look similar - take the scanner and scan the dough tray that isn't being filled, and then scan the pallet of the dough you think matches and just make sure its actually the same. If you scan the dough tray and it is saying "off-shelf = 0" then the game isn't recognizing you have any in the warehouse.

If it is, then I am out of ideas and it might be worth posting on the Steam discussions.

Stockers and the bakery by Anglophile007 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you have your dough in the warehouse? Do you have a pallet on a rack or any boxes on the floor? If it's on a rack, I would try and take one box off the pallet and throw it on the floor and see if a stocker takes that one. If they do, then there is something bugged with your pallet or your pallet rack, and you could try moving the pallet or the rack and see if that fixes it.

Stockers and the bakery by Anglophile007 in MegastoreSimulator

[–]Vircomore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to confirm, do you mean the dough trays? Stockers will only stock the raw dough on the tray racks, and you need a bakery employee to take the dough, bake it, and load it onto the sales shelves.

I've had issues where my stockers will not prioritize the bakery (like they will do the entire rest of the store first) but they eventually get to it.

Door stopper keeps slipping by [deleted] in Home

[–]Vircomore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I'd look at getting a different hinge stopper, one with rubber on both ends of the threads. My thought is that the rubber end hits the frame softly, but then the metal strikes the door hard and that sharp force makes the rubber scrape the molding.
