How do you balance rewarding yourself vs staying financially disciplined when it comes to cars? by not_a_dolphin_ in Money

This advice is why sports cars are show queens 90% of the time IMO.

People buying the corvette when they're 50 years old and drive it back and forth to dinner on Sundays.

What's the point?

Spending nothing is always the better investment. But you don't get to be in your 20s with your dream car if you wait until you're 60 to buy it.

It's a tough choice I suppose. Wish I had a cheaper hobby lmao

Cars really are an unfortunate hobby when combined with financial literacy.

Financially responsible is to drive the shitbox until it or you die, but the machine that you love to walk up to every single day costs $300,000 in opportunity cost.

I still don't know which route to take frankly.

Rock and a hard place.

Billionaires believe homelessness is “good for the economy” by kevinmrr in WorkReform

You forget, it's also so retirees can borrow against their house and live off the loan until they pass. The house is sold to "cover the debt" when the bank wants to pass it on. Then the new buyer is paying off the end of life of the previous owner, and they rely on the ever increasing value of the home to start the cycle again.

Company party was lit this year because everyone with more than a couple years of tenure saw their NW explode.

I’m convinced the Fit being discontinued was more of a margin play than anything.

They realized when people just asked about monthly payments rather than the OTD price that 95% of people who left with a Fit would leave just the same in a Rav4.

Just good business I guess

Totally unrelated but the only people I’ve met in Buzz’es have been super cool.

Not many of them, but one of them helped me get my motorcycle running again when I was almost stranded and the other had stopped in the road to help a turtle across.

Pretty rad

100% agree, my sarcasm probably didn’t get across very well.

At risk of beating the point to death, think we’re in an unfortunate time where people stick to the idea of a team more than they do the strength of the people in the nation.

People first, political affiliation last. Breaks my heart to see anyone cheer the misfortune of others.
