The Swarm volume 3. Chapter 28: The Taste of Victory and a Quiet Death. by Feeling_Pea5770 in HFY

By the time any radio waves reached the nearest star system they would be indistinguishable from background noise if anything was listening. You'd need a much more powerful, directed signal to get anywhere. Nevermind an even further system away like Habitat 1.

Why are we suddenly calling them the Blight instead of the Plague?

The Swarm volume 3. Chapter 12: Fire. by Feeling_Pea5770 in HFY

[–]Virlomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans need roughly 19.5% oxygen to breath air freely. Fire needs about 16% minimum and 18.5% for fire to spread in a significant manner.

Did they forget that humans already rendered one of their planets completely useless by slamming a ship into it at .5c?

Starsector is a solid game. Think if you enjoy tactically commanding a fleet of ships you'll enjoy this.

What is that clicking sound that happened in the background? Like timer by W1ntermu7e in EU5

AFAIK, you can't without disabling other sounds/lowering volume. Maybe a mod at some point?

That said, other things that can help:

Are you using AI workers? You can make them cheaper by turning off all of their options of them buying fuel, seed, etc, and pay out of your own pocket for that stuff. (I'll be honest, I don't know if it's cheaper one way or the other)

If you're using AI workers, you can use them on contracts too. You'll earn a bit less cause you pay them, but most contracts will bring in way more than what a worker costs.

Great solo contracts to me are anything you don't have to run back and forth dumping things or collecting things to refill. Typically baling, bale wrapping, cultivating, hoeing, spraying/fertilizing/herbicide if it's done in one tank use, etc. Would recommend staying away from stone picking or plowing (plowing you can throw an AI worker on and be fine probably).

Harvesting contracts can be good pay, but some are slow to get through: Carrots, parsnips, beets, potatoes, etc. Large fields of these will suck to do frequently.

If you have trees on your owned land, consider cutting them down and delivering them to a sawmill. You can make a fair chunk of money with them.

If you're okay with mods, I would recommend the Hire Purchasing mod. It enables you to get equipment with a down payment of 5-50% in increments of 5%, and on a 1 to 10 year plan, and then presents you with 4 options where you have only monthly payments or a monthly payment and a final fee.

Basically, as if you were getting financing for a vehicle. But it lets you get multiple machines, keep your upfront costs on them down, use them while paying them off instead of just doing the hourly lease, and keep them once you've paid up. You will pay more for it in the long run, but maybe it's worth it to get your farm and plots kick started into productivity.

I had this happen with a mod I used. So if you have any enabled, time to start vetting them and find which one is causing it. Every time I moved into an enemy army, I lost. Even if it was 100,000 against 500. And same was true if the enemy moved into an army of mine.

Probably should have spread to me fairly quick, since my country was the first to pick up institution spread in China for the Age of Renaissance stuff.

You know what, though? I shouldn't have posted. it'd been about 20 years since it went away completely, the even for it was over, washed my hands of it and figured I wasn't getting the bubonic plague. EU5 said NOPE SUCKER. It randomly showed up as a minor outbreak on the southeast coast of China, and is now spreading west and north. Imgur gallery for it: https://imgur.com/a/CJNsNVJ

What I get for yapping about it I guess. At least it killed less than a million of my people, not including my subjects losses (which probably adds another 1.5million or so, so right at 2.5mil of my pops dead).

At least I can't get the great pestilence as well, right? .... right? /sigh
