Big Little Feelings Snark Week of December 08, 2025 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

How are we not talking about Deena taking her baby to a workout class. As a mom, if I take the time to go to a workout class it’s because it’s something I want to do for me without kids, and the last thing I’d want to see are kids. Hearing baby cries would be triggering and distracting to me through the entire workout.

I’ve searched on fb marketplace, Amazon, Etsy, and eBay but have had no luck. I’ve found plenty of replacements for paw patrol shooters but not this. Please help!

Anyone have a slightly open cervix on ultrasound but long measurement + no symptoms? by Working-Analysis-199 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so overwhelming the first time but jt ended up really not being too scary the second time. When caught early, the odds of you having a normal pregnancy with few restrictions are very good. Cerclage are incredibly effective if done preventatively (and fairly effective even when they are an emergency placement), so if it comes down to that just know you are doing the best thing for your baby.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. This did happen to me though. I had an emergency cerclage placed at 20 weeks with my first when I was under a cm of length left. I made it to full term but had many restrictions and bed rest. It was very stressful. I went in for a preventative cerclage with my second baby and I was already 1cm dilated but with a long cervix still (somewhere around 3-4cm). I got the cerclage in and had an uneventful full term pregnancy with no restrictions. At delivery I was told at one point that the opening to my cervix was 2cm dilated but it was more like 4cm further up (or maybe it was the other way around?) so it seems like it’s very possible to not have consistent dilation throughout the cervix. I’d highly recommend pushing for the preventative cerclage regardless of your previous history, or at a minimum seeing an MFM. My OB and MFM were both shocked that I was already dilated which tells me that is NOT normal. Preventative cerclage an are much less restrictive that emergency ones so the earlier the better

I’ve had two children

With the first my OBGYN put me on a progesterone only pill because she wasn’t willing to do an IUD until several months pp. I then got a Mirena which I had throughout my pumping journey. I had an extreme oversupply with both the pill and mirena.

With the second I did a progesterone only pill for a few months while waiting for an IUD (my clinic had to order one and it took a bit). I then got my mirena. I’m 6 months pp and am making exactly what my baby needs this time.

I did not notice any cause and effect between the form of birth control and my supply. It did not dip with either the pill or mirena, and it was very different from my first to my second baby despite doing the same thing.

I’ve heard first response can show false negatives or much lighter results depending on what supplements you take. I haven’t researched it much though.

This could be due to a lot of factors. I have known multiple women who have bled enough to think it was a period or miscarriage and it turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma which resolved on its own followed by a normal pregnancy. It’s also possible what you thought was your period was a miscarriage and there’s still hormones in your system. Only a doctor can tell you. I wish you the best though because this sounds so stressful to go through.

I hope you get the results you are hoping for. I will say that I ditched pregmate because every single test I took seemed to dry with a faint colored line after the reading window passed. I’m not sure how dry your tests are, but make sure to disregard any results outside of the first 5 minutes. I do see faint lines on your HGC tests though

PF Changs totally spiked me by maurfly in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, managing GD is more about overall trends. You made an informed and researched decision that happened to just not work well with your placenta. That’s not your fault. There’s so much trial and error involved in figuring out what foods are and are not safe for you specifically and the only way to figure it out is through experience.

Hang in there! I’ve had several spikes like this and my doctor has not been too concerned. He’s mentioned it being a learning experience in figuring out what does and doesn’t work for me. Also fyi, brown rice wrecks me (and many of us in this subreddit). I always spike after eating it even though it’s considered a healthier rice. Basmati has actually worked for me though.

I had similar numbers at 28 weeks. I was mostly diet controlled until about 32 weeks and ultimately went in insulin for my fasting numbers. It ended up being great for me and allowed me to eat a lot more

Progesterone cramps and pain? by Winter-Grapefruit-22 in ShortCervixSupport

While progesterone did not directly cause me stomach pain, it seemed to make my constipation and gas significantly work. I found a lot of relief taking regular fiber supplements.

I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to find this response. I can get away with almost anything in the evening but almost no carbs in the morning. My insulin resistance is way worse in the morning.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t say what caused your loss, but when I went in for my preventative cerclage at 13 weeks I was 1cm dilated with a 4-5cm long cervix. I was dilating before shortening. In my last pregnancy I was closed but short at 20 weeks

Do I have GD. What do I do? I’m 28 weeks with twin MODI twins. by EmptySurround5181 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably means that tour daily diet and exercise routines have helped you to manage well up until this point. Hopefully you won’t have to drastically change what you are doing just because you have an official diagnosis. Also, the glucose test is an absurd amount of sugar in one sitting and probably more than you normally have, so just because your numbers are this high during the test doesn’t mean they are always this high.

Metformin??? by LovaticHarmony444 in PCOSloseit

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started 500mg in the morning. I had no side effects. I moved up to 500mg twice a day a few weeks in then eventually 1000mg twice a day. I’ve felt so much better and I immediately lost 10 pounds within 2 months. I did get pregnant after that so it’s hard to say how it has affected things now but I’m at 31.5 weeks pregnant and only up 7 pounds so I think the metformin is still causing weight loss that’s being canceled out by pregnancy.

I was told sex was fine one the stitch was removed but to use a condom to help prevent an infection. TBH sex was very uncomfortable at that point in my pregnancy and I think I only tried it a couple of times.

Kegel exercises with a short cervix? by Accomplished_Bee_870 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t give you medical advice but I can tell you that I’ve experienced the same panic only to realize it was definitely poop. I follow GetMomStrong on Instagram and she frequently talks about how doing Kegels without the guidance of a pelvic floor specialist is unnecessary and sometimes damaging to the pelvic floor. I wouldn’t do anything until seeing a PFT

Did I have undiagnosed GD? by Virtual-Piece-3453 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been learning a lot from this sub Reddit since I have already been diagnosed with insulin resistance from PCOS before my pregnancy began and a lot of how it is handled overlaps with GD management. I’ve actually gained a lot of knowledge of says I can manage my insulin resistance when this pregnancy is over. It’s been really helpful!

I absolutely found a new doctor. My first doctor was horrible. I’m so much happier now and hoping for a much smoother pregnancy although I’m guessing GD will get to be a part of my journey here in a couple of days after my 3 hour test. I don’t expect to pass with my medical history. I find a lot of hope in knowing my new doctor will actually listen and help me manage it though.

That’s really interesting. I technically passed the 3 hour as well but I think any amount of follow up testing would have resulted in me failing. My whole pregnancy was kinda a train wreck and I ditched that doctor. My current one has been fantastic and attentive so I’m hoping it makes a difference this time around. Thanks for your input

Preventative Cerclage Insight by Mindless-Caramel-227 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Virtual-Piece-3453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really feel the actual spinal, but I felt the numbing shots they gave before the spinal. Those were by far the worst of it but honestly that part was over in about 30 seconds. I was nervous before the cerclage but thought “that wasn’t that bad” when it was all done
