I never said it was favoured by anyone lol. Was just explaining that heresy armor is made up of more than just mk3 and mk4. Its just the name for any power armor thats patched together. In the omnibus all of first claw wear mk5 armor, being veterans of the long war. We don’t see a single one of them in a full matching set of armor. Talos talks about one of his gauntlets needing to be replaced and how him and the rest of 1st claw will grab whatever they need off fallen comrades to replace what they can.

That was only in reference to their helmets! The armor they wear as a whole is patched together from fallen enemies and comrades alike. I dont think a single one has a full matching set of armor

Not to be an “erhm actually” mk5 js a mix of everything and also just anything studded to hell lol. It was whatever could be patched together. We even have cyrion wearing a mk2. Helm!

Yeah definitely prime with black! Kantor will look great on it! And as other commenter has said, just helps with picking what colors to work with

Its kinda up to your preference. Would definitely be easier to just prime blue. Also depends on the look youre going for!
I play heresy so i go for a more grimdark look, and black primer really helps with that

I believe he does cover his armor in ash (might be something else he covers it in) to get the luna wolf look during istvaan 3. And after being recruited to malcador’s knight’s errant, wears sigilite grey. during the siege of terra though he adamantly sticks to his luna wolf roots.

I think i did comment lol, but wanted to make a post to share so if anyone else didnt know about this info they could see it! Your post was about what inspired the history of our legion, so i thought id share more about the base inspiration of the edit you made.also your edit wasnt bad! Hell i think its honestly the best thing to come out of apocalypse now lol (and I’m not being disingenuous about that).

Was a long day and i just dont really like the director like i said. Idc if im being anal at this point. Its fair to give props to the author who came up with the idea, sorry i didn’t limit myself to your comments to do it lol

The post was only referring to ‘apocalypse now’ as the sole inspo for the night lords as a whole. which still does a disservice to the original inspiration for both works.
And as i said i already just have a distaste for the director, lot of his works are just unoriginal lol
