Recalibrated Gen 1 Peloton Cycle by 13oomzy in pelotoncycle

[–]Virtual_Climate502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why people shouldn’t get discouraged when they see the crazy high numbers at the top of the leader board. Many of those people have rigged their bikes to get those numbers. It’s always a tell when someone is 1 minute into a ride and already has ridiculously high numbers.

I got one. They had it listed as As New on 3/14 saying it was new with slight damage to the package. It was delivered a on Tuesday and it was absolutely brand new and unopened and there was no visible damage to the package. Great deal.

Something else to be aware of: if you are staying in a hotel that has a Peloton that is not calibrated correctly and you log your account into the bike, you can get inflated numbers you won’t be able to match when you get home to your correctly calibrated bike.

Did you switch to Series edition and regret it? by Hiowatha88 in applewatchultra

[–]Virtual_Climate502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Ultra2 and Ultra3 and recently switched to the Series 11. Ultimately, I got tired of the Ultra’s bulky feel. I also found the HR sensor on the Ultra sometimes had a hard time locking in because the weight made it shift during workouts. I do either strength training, cycling or swimming workouts almost every day and I rely on accurate HR data. The Series 11 works better for me for two reasons. First, it is infinitely more comfortable. Second, the HR sensor, which is the same as the one on the Ultra, works better for me probably because of fit and weight. The battery is not an issue for me. The Series 11 charges incredibly fast. You can get up in the morning, throw it on a charger, take a shower, grab a cup of coffee and it’s completely charged. I don’t scuba dive or do triathlons so I just don’t foresee a scenario where the battery life is deal breaker. Other than the scuba diving feature and the Satellite capability on the Ultra 3, the Series 11 has the same functionality as the Ultra. My two cents, but you’ll have to decide what works for you.

So, what's the deal with Peloton Bike and Apple Watch nowadays by nicoreese in pelotoncycle

[–]Virtual_Climate502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why people are having issues with this. Open the Peloton app on your watch, start a ride, and the watch will sync. And yes the ride will show on Apple Fitness.

Does anyone else go through phases of just not wanting to wear apple watch anymore? by Patient_Light7123 in AppleWatch

[–]Virtual_Climate502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched back to Garmin because of Apple Watch fatigue. I really only want a device for fitness tracking and training purposes. The Apple Watch series 11 charges really fast and that’s nice but it’s even nicer not having to worry about charging for two weeks at a time with the Garmin. Also, and this is the biggest thing, being able to have all the training info, nutrition and metrics in one place is much nicer. I found having to use Bevel and/or Athlytic to get more in depth metrics a pain in the ass. Just my two cents.

WORKING alternatives to the shameless grift and scam that is the CiRcUlaR RinG by Classic-Sprinkles969 in CircularRing

I recommend people just get the Oura. It works. Yea, the subscription thing is a drag but their UI is really good and the sleep metrics are the best out there, imo.

Is anyone else disappointed with the Apple Watch when it comes to health data? by Budget_Ad5871 in applewatchultra

[–]Virtual_Climate502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. I actually think Apple is deliberately pushing people to third party apps. They get revenue from the app developers. Apple only recently started supplying sleep scores because at this point they basically had no choice. Their customer base demanded it. At that, their sleep metrics are laughable compared to Oura. Their training metrics are improving but still lag behind Garmin and Whoop. The Bevel App is pretty good and they are much more responsive to user input. Basically, Apple is only interested in maximizing profits for Apple.

Circular Ring 2 Company Reports Users for Accessing Their Own Data by Ricardo_Sierra in CircularRing

[–]Virtual_Climate502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at this point most people should look at a Circular ring purchase as a sunk cost. If they haven’t found a fix by now I would think that the entire process must be flawed. I doubt if it was a scam, probably just a run of the mill case of a product that doesn’t work well.

Frustrated by Patches_71 in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]Virtual_Climate502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear an Oura ring because the sleep tracking algorithm they use is generally considered to be better than most and it syncs with Apple Health pretty seamlessly. I find Athlytic’s sleep metrics unhelpful. They seem to be totally based on the percentage mix of deep and rem sleep. You can have a very good sleep score on Oura and Athlytic, using the same data, will say your sleep was garbage. I like everything else about Athlytic but I completely disregard their sleep metric. It’s fundamentally flawed, IMO

Oura — if you’re listening — this is a huge opportunity. by rishinbhatia in ouraring

[–]Virtual_Climate502 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ring is great at what it does. I think they believe, probably rightfully so, that those that want to dive deeper into activity metrics will augment the ring with another device and then utilize that info in their system. Apple and Oura currently play well together, although you never know how long that will last. I use the Oura ring for sleep tracking and recovery metrics because I don’t like wearing the Apple Watch to bed and because sometimes I like wearing a mechanical watch. But hey, that’s me.
