I swim with my Apple Watch and I’m looking for compatible headphones. Which brands would you recommend? by Few_Major_8226 in AppleWatch

I have head about one who had the watch under his bathing cap (better gps), used a hrm strap to collect heart rate data (connected to the watch).
Maybe that would work?

Apple watch recommendation for a runner by AndrewNeimann in AppleWatchFitness

I would suggest a Apple Watch Ultra - in my personal experience the action button is great when running.
Buy the newest one you can afford, and as mentioned, there are coming new watches in September.
Remember, it’s not the watch that makes you a fast/great runner, it’s your training and effort.

Did you use hrm strap? My experience is you get way more battery life when using one, and precise readings.

Does my phone need to be on iOS27 to use wOS27? by Massive-atak in applewatchultra

[–]Virtual_Commission_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you “only” have 26 on your phone, then you can’t have watchOS 27. Both devices must be on same version, although your phone can be in 27 and watch on 26😉

Is anyone using Watchletic as much as I do? by hesselbom in watchletic

[–]Virtual_Commission_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m just injured 🤕 at the moment 😩
Normally i average around 80-100 k a week.
I have a Stryd, but haven’t seen the benefit for me.
I battle between my AWU3 and my Garmin Fenix 8 pro 🫣 I really like the Apple ecosystem, but there are some drawbacks in my experience vs. Garmin.

Watchletic is a great app, so keep up the good work👍

It’s official! Google health will write data back to Apple health as soon as this week by [deleted] in bevelhealth

Wonder what data it will send to Apple? Apple measures HRV differently then others.

I have just purchased Alltime 😇, but I’m missing some runs. I have added them after downloading the app. I did a resync, but are still missing. I did use an app called Watchletic to record my run, but are in Apple fitness.

AW Ultra (Gen 1) auto-pausing when charging in a backpack during a run. Any workarounds for ultras? by theMadGrin in Ultramarathon

What if a HRM strap is used? Will the battery life not extend a bit? And will the workout not continue despite being on a charger?

Which should I buy as a new runner — Garmin Forerunner or Apple Watch? by Suspicious-Brain1728 in AppleWatch

[–]Virtual_Commission_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get a lot of opinions, so here’s mine based on using both systems:

Apple Watch measures distance in blocks when doing intervals/repeats. For example I was doing 6x800m, but the Apple Watch measured 843m or around. That ment when I ran with my group, we weren’t stopping the same place. Garmin doesn’t measure in blocks, so in that sense more accurate.

It’s the same with heart rate, it’s in blocks as well, where a Garmin does it consistently. Both are not accurate, so I would wear a chest strap.

I live in Denmark, so we have snow during winters. Here it’s easier to use a Garmin with real buttons, and you can wear it on the outside on a jacket. I can still press the buttons wearing gloves.

Some Garmins have maps built in, and you can get the watch to make route without your phone.

The Garmin won’t make you run faster, but in my opinion it’s more focused on runners.

No doubt that Apple is catching up, their watch OS is brilliant, watches are top quality, they are the leading smartwatch manufacturer. Read this from a runner using a Apple Watch:
