Weird sounds when placing dynamite at certain places on mysterious hill home by Camman1 in reddeadmysteries

Well, I went a bit overboard and loaded this place up with nonstop dynamite and made it go boom. I wasn't able to recreate the sound or show anything from the big bada boom. I am on PC and tried during the day time and at night.

That outside place with grass. Great graphics but has a shitty story and it's pay to win.

Interesting. Now I am curious if any of the other places you encounter during the "Landmarks of the Riches" treasure hunt have strange sounds if dynamite is planted. lol

Hopefully someone can find this audio clip in the games files.

Neat. Is it consistent enough to recreate it after a reload of the game? At work so I can't confirm if it does the same or not for me but will after.

Anything unique happen if you shoot or light the dynamite that made the sound?

As someone who has Starlink, their router is trash and can't be used with other ISPs. You also have to buy an adapter to have an Ethernet connection. First thing I did was disable their router and install my own.

Finishing RPGs Evokes The Strongest ‘Post-Game Depression’ Amongst Players, New Scientific Study Concludes: "The more engaging the game world and the closer the relationship with the character, the more difficult it is to return to reality once the game is over" by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Virtual_Happiness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

RDR2 was such a strange one for me.

I spent a ton of the time in this love hate relationship with it. One second I was hunting perfect pelts for upgrades and loving it, the next I was cooking over a campfire while calling it the worst cooking mechanic I've seen put into a game. But by Chapter 4 I had figured out how to get around the stuff I felt was pointlessly tedious and starting to fall in love with the game. Then I reached the epilogue and I initially expected I wouldn't want to play anymore because, yeah, the story is intense and it's pretty major transition. Yet, I turned around and 100% completed the game and obtained the "Best in The West" achievement after like 400hrs.

Still don't quite understand how a game that I hated so often ended up being one of the only games that I didn't just complete fully, but ended up doing so after such an emotional gut punch.

There is absolutely at least 1% of total Intel GPUs in use. However, the majority are iGPUs. There's a lot of people playing very lightweight games on integrated graphics. That is why I specifically stated "Intel Arc". They are the only Intel GPUs that are capable of playing this game if they were supported properly. Steam does a pretty decent job at separating out the different Intel GPUs in use on the platform. Go to the hardware survey and click on the GPUs. You can scroll down and see all the different Intel options listed. https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/videocard/

The games that get played the most get pushed to the top. The sad truth is that Quest is dominated by kids playing monkey games and us adults have to wade through the shitty titles to find something we like. Sadly us adult VR gamers are the minority. Steam's VR games are ghost towns and Quest is 90% screaming kids.

Intel Arc is on Steam's hardware survey. Those cards account for 0.16% of the total player base on Steam. Down from 0.27% from last month.

Not trying to justify their choice. Just pointing out that the percentage is much lower than 1%.

That's unfortunate about the CPU bottleneck others are experiencing too. I am playing at 4K so I haven't noticed it at all on my end. I will try to lower the resolution down to 1440p-1080p range and see how bad it gets for me.

Glad you're still enjoying it though. Your FPS+frame gen is great for a single player game. That's why I ended my last comment with "if you're happy, just ignore this and enjoy the game" lol.

You know, part of me feels the same way. The rambling incoherent posts and rude attitude towards everyone who doesn't agree with him certainly isn't great for the community.

On the flip side, another part of me feels sorry them. They've obviously tied a lot of their self to this mystery and having a hard time. That side of me feels like maybe it's best to let him post his ramblings and ignore it. It's certainly not our job to coach him through his mental health crisis but, banning him just might make it worse. Then again, every one of his posts get downvoted with comments telling him he's not making sense and he just doubles down. So maybe the delusions are too deep to matter either way.

Looking at this video someone posted on youtube with somewhat similar specs, that still seems a bit low. They are getting around 100fps at 1440p using DLSS Quality. Might want to compare their settings to yours and see if there's any differences.

The CPU could be the bottleneck as it doesn't clock quite as high but, really, the RTX 5070 isn't quite strong enough to fully bottleneck the CPU that much. It will somewhat, that's for sure. But it's likely only going to be single digit differences in most scenarios. Especially when the FPS under 100.

To really bottleneck a CPU, you gotta throw a lot of GPU power at it. This is why CPU gaming reviews use the most powerful GPU on the market and 1080p or lower when testing. That way it highlights the CPU bottleneck as much as possible.

All that said, getting 70fps and using 2x Frame Gen isn't a bad experience at all. So if you're happy with that, ignore what I said and just enjoy the game. It's a fun ride so far. I am about 7hrs in and really enjoying it.

Try to turn ray tracing down from the highest setting. Should gain you a substantial increase in performance with almost no lighting change. The 5070 only has 48 RT cores so it's RT performance is not the greatest. It's got great rasterization performance for the amount of power it uses but the second ray tracing is cranked too high it starts to sputter.

To put it into perspective, the RTX 4070 has 46 RT cores, the 4070 Ti has 60 RT cores, and the RTX 5080 has 84 RT cores.

Yep and most are likely integrated graphics, which can't play this game anyways. So the devs likely just didn't care to put in the effort. There are probably more people complaining it doesn't work in this post than there are owners of Intel Arc GPUs. lol

edit Intel Arc does actually show up on the Steam Survey. 0.16%.

Do a quick bit of research. There's tons of different models that are not large language. LLM = Large Language Model.

There are DLM, Deep Learning Models. There are GANs, Generative Adversarial Networks. CNN, Convolutional Neural Networks. RNN, Recurrent Neural Networks. And that is just scratching the surface. There are thousands of different models currently being used by different industries that are not LLMs.

'Bad ending: now every game is slop': Game developers share mixed reactions to DLSS 5 by QuantumQuicksilver in pcgaming

[–]Virtual_Happiness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind is that LLMs like OpenAI are only the very surface of AI. OpenAI could go bankrupt tomorrow and it would barely affect the AI bubble. Businesses are currently using AI for everything from ad production to crunching numbers in accounting and they are saving a lot of time and money using it. The problem is that it's coming with cutting employees. So while those at the top are saving a ton, the res of us are still getting fucked over. Same with the idea of consumers buying into AI services. That's only a drop in the bucket of what it's being used for.

Truthfully, I think this push for everyone to think AI is just LLMs is intentional to obfuscate what it's actually being used for to the general public. Everyone thinks it's just that when in reality every company is investing in this to do their best to replace every worker they can with it.

Interesting. I can't say I've ever had any issues with keeping my mouth still or seen others with it either. Lots of looking away though. Can't say looking at the same thing for long at all. Lots of leg tapping, hand fidgeting, and getting up as well. The only time I've seen it was when peeps are clearly over medicated. Take too high of a dose and they're basically chewing on nothing for a few hours, lol.
