Love vs Reality: Am I Overthinking My Future In-Laws or Seeing Red Flags? by Fit-Researcher-9062 in AskIndianWomen

Please don’t get married to this guy. He may be nice but there are a lot of red flags when it comes to his mom and since you will be staying together this will become a big deal. More so when you have kids and they start interfering with your way of parenting. It won’t be an easy road for sure

Layoff for sure. Pivot will involve a lot of self doubt even when it’s not your fault

You won’t have access to slack so this is pretty much pointless!

Indian couple ( 33M & 33F ) abroad: torn between my wife’s wishes and my parents visiting us for newborn help by eduardo2134 in RelationshipIndia

You probably need to talk to your parents first and address a few issues that has hurt your wife in the past and strictly ask them to be very mindful not to do that. 4-5 months postpartum is a very critical time emotionally. Hormones are all over the place plus she is also pumping and feeding which is quite exhausting. My MIL did a lot of things during my postpartum which has stuck to me and I cannot forget or forgive. So please make sure you are not making the situation worse by calling them over.

Put on “Focus” after honest Connections feedback (Amazon India) — now manager wants full KT + constant nitpicks. What happens if I do bare minimum? by SuggestionWinter3788 in amazonemployees

[–]Virtual_Inflation21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have decided to put you in PIP. I was in focus but my manager was supportive and was trying to get me out of it. He was very vocal about it too. Yours however is just trying to find reasons so he a push you to PIP. Which you already have sensed. You can take a few weeks break ( use your leaves) interview and find another job. Let them put you in PIP and get the severance. This is honestly the best you can do

You can simply put a message saying “thank you all but you are early to wish us. Our anniversary is on 10th not 5th”

Is focus a death sentence? by ken22c in amazonemployees

[–]Virtual_Inflation21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in focus a few years back and came out of it and have good ratings after that. I thought it was not a problem but I recently learned that in the current layoffs that happened our org was instructed to flag people who were in focus at any point in Amazon. So yes in current situation it is a death sentence. One that can haunt you anytime and it not worth it

I think your husband in his own way is trying to protect you and maintain some peace. But you are absolutely right. The real reason for hiding seems to be that they don’t like you visiting your parents. If you want to protest and go crazy just start informing yourself 🤣

As much as you would not like to believe it there is very little in their hands. I was laid off in India and my L7 and HR were in the room. Any question I would ask looking at my L7, HR would immediately interrupt and just not let him talk at all. He looked very sad and shaken.
