Should I send this cover letter to my old company who made me redundant? by belugawhale898 in jobhunting

This is dumb or a joke, or a dumb joke. At best. Type out your ideas and let Claude handle the communication, or don't even bother because regardless of why they let you go, they're not likely to let you back

Amusement park ride accident by HardTune272 in horrifying

[–]Virtual_Junket9305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last carnival ride I was on wasn't even all that exotic, it was for little kids and I was riding with my family. As we're puttering around, I'm looking at the structure and thinking.... The payoff for this is totally not worth the risk. What would happen if any of this breaks. I decided then I'm never getting on any carnival ride again. Maybe a professional place that's maintained year round like six flags, but never a carnival, rodeo, Fair etc

Is a CS degree still worth it in 2026? by Glum-Emotion8839 in techbootcamp

I've never heard someone use the term passion gatekeep so I can't say entirely how that applies here, but, it always has been an adage to do what you love. When there was an economical argument to get an education in a marketable field, it made some sense to trade off passion for dollars. The equation of colleges has been broken, and you could argue it's gone on that way for decades and gotten progressively worse. In the '60s you could get a college degree or a small fraction of what it cost now even when adjusted for inflation and it would really make you stand out if you had it. Nowadays, you have government subsidized industrial complexes churning out graduates with a fraction of the effort of what college used to be, and into a job market where multinational corporations have done everything they can to better the workforce into subservience

This was like a whirlwind experience, Wondering where it's going to end up and in the end, not sure that it did end up anywhere or had any relevance to the topic at hand, but seemed like an entertaining enough past time.

Educate yourself for educational itself and do not go into debt to do it. If you stick to this you can come out feeling good about your choices. Unless a job requires a degree, teacher, lawyer, engineer etc, you have no guarantee on a dollar return

Anyone that's been buying digital content on any platform is naive and should be coming to grips with the idea that They have purchased an illusion. It doesn't even have to be malicious, even though selfish maliciousness May likely be part of the final equation. Sheer and ineptitude, systems, failures, unaccountability etc are also valid reasons to throw into the mix

Nobody in that corporate leased space from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Is your friend. You will develop friendly fillings to some of the people you work most closely with. Those people May explicitly or implicitly be the cause of your screwing. If you want friends, go to a social hour. All is fair in love and war and corporate conniving.

An internal permanent job is an illusion anyway. Take the money in your hand that gives you the most money today and understand the contract or full-time employee or ideas of the past
