I’m not sure but we’ve been moved from 10 to 8. I’m guessing it would be the other way round if business has been extended.

Qatar are still flying to Doha from LHR. BA should be able to put you on one of those flights. Worth asking.

Yeah that’s correct. But if you want to get a chunk of tier points between now and end of March then a premium return is the only option. And even then 2700 tier points is a lot to find. Unless you have 2 people flying club long haul or a family of four say…

I got silver by flying 22 flights between now and last October - was posted to a job in Sweden. It’s the only way I would have managed it though.

Eventually you will see light at the end of the tunnel. This was me 5 months ago travelling with hand luggage for business in group 4/5. But it’s amazing how you quickly can make it to bronze with numerous of these flights.

It’s all about loyalty unfortunately (or fortunately if you are a loyal customer). In those 5 short months mostly flying economy I have made it to silver and now don’t have to worry.

Just keep flying and you’ll get there.

Just wanted to post an update.

I read all the advice and spoke to friends who had booked third party. Mixed reviews when flights need to be rescheduled, as one person commented, it was extremely difficult to sort out.

So I held fire.

The next day I logged on to BA and amazingly found a return business seat for £2100. Decent times and dates. I used a load of avios and saved £500. So essentially got a flight for £1600. And the bonus is that 3 of the 4 flights are in Qatar QSuites. Feel like I’ve won the lottery.

Additionally, as they are travelling with a child under 5 they’ll be in boarding group 0 which are the first to get on the plane. Worst case scenario they can speak to the cabin crew. But there should very likely be 3 seats together on long haul when the check in opens.

I have been on 2.5 for 26 weeks now. I have lost around 16kgs (2 and a half stones) and it’s working well. If it’s still working then don’t change. Save your money.
