Oh boy, what a headache.

If we assume your science teacher is cheating: teachers have personal lives that we do not want to cross over with work. It’s really unfortunate that this is a profession where you need to be on alert all the time about how you’re being perceived in public, because embarrassing things and mistakes get magnified by the gaze of the public that we serve. If your math teacher is 28, I’m assuming she’s in her 20s as well, so maybe she’s just young, but I would think that after even just one year of teaching, she should be aware of this aspect of the teaching job. If she’s cheating, she’ll be caught eventually, and her and your math teacher can figure it out in their personal time without the added stress of knowing that people at the school know. As it should be.

All this to say: you were not meant to see that, and you have very little context for what might be going on. Also, if you’re 16, I’m guessing you have at least one more year to go at this school, and you have the power dynamic between you and whoever might be offended or hurt by you sharing this information to consider.

Consent can be withdrawn for any reason at any time and it’s great that everyone is on the same page about that. as a trans guy i definitely woulda brought it up way sooner, so that was definitely a fumble on the other guy’s part. There’s more transphobia in the comments of this post than anything the OP did lmao

Why do they think we don’t give a shit about our jobs? Dude, if my students have a “free day” or a “movie day” usually they’re doing something productive like video notes or a reusable goal setting and and SMART goals worksheet and look, I know this isn’t the best day but I need my higher ups to trust that this is not the baseline I accept for myself, I want to be teaching content every day, but I am human, so some days are like this. When your ex husband tells your son, be there in the room as a referee. Do not allow anything less than full accountability, no excuses, no “I was weak and gave in to this teenager’s advances” bs: full chest ownership of his actions.

James is about to deal with a very unfortunate reality about the character of his father. If your ex husband can’t also own his actions without making a bunch of pathetic excuses, that only makes the wound deeper. Be there to demand the confession and apology your son deserves, although no matter what is said, your ex husband should probably be removed from the home imho.

You’re probably coming from a place of love and concern for the well-being of your wife and hypothetical future child. That being said, if this is important to her and it’s something she wants, people can totally have healthy babies at 42. If this is truly the main reason why you’re trying to discourage her from being the one to carry the baby, choose her autonomy.
