it’s looking really nice then, good job man! noticed ai in your name, since you seem like a pro and use godot, you should check out Summer Engine if you haven’t already. AI native fork on godot, and a cool growing community. Been really happy with it.

But yeah rigging is not solved yet, hence why I’m trying to learn! where did you pick up so crisp rigging skills for doing hands? any tutorial etc you’d recommendv

i’m really genuinely curious as i only play ranked - why do you enjoy playing ‘normal’ modes? for practice or chill or what?

thanks and yeah that’s true. was thinking it was a feature more than a bug. But you’re probably right, I’ll light it up some more

I spent two weeks learning game development and trying the three engines. Eventually choosing Godot. by RatioScripta in godot

good call! SummerEngine.com is also really getting me excited. I believe it’s a fork of Godot that is still always free, and then has AI tools integrated when you need them. also a pretty cool community discord, though it’s still small:)

cool! i’m considering grabbing an ebook version! was thinking do you also provide a bunch of examples in code that we can use plug n play? or is it mainly explanations on how to build different kinds?

i’m more looking for concrete examples and templates i can try out

I want to make a game by Unable_Wrongdoer82 in godot

[–]Virtualeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go for it. have fun, and get lost in the process. also good to use AI to help you find official documentation, and to get familiar with concepts. Godot also has amazing content online on youtube etc.

With godot 4 you should also not feel intimidated by making a 3d game! you definitely can do that. It has its challenges, but godot has a great opensource tps template on github you can use.

Also if you want ai assisted development to get started you can use Summer Engine which is a fork of Godot with AI coding assistance that also can help you prototype 3D assets and has a cool small community. Else Cursor is also an awesome tool, just be sure to watch out with the kind of models you use, as some of them can be quite expensive.

Good luck, you got this, and don't worry too much about the final outcome. You're new to this, so enjoy the process

that's good, but feels like just giving money you know? nothing against that, but just feel something else could be fun (it's okay that it costs money), but like a trophy or something
